Great Time

4 weeks went by, still no word from Sam. Jessica continued with her studies and hung out with Sarah. Jessica would visit Jane every few days since she was so sensitive and sad from not hearing from Sam. Everyone was worried for him. Though it was only boot camp, the word military and fighting gave you different emotions.

After the school day Jessica and Sarah walked from their class to the city to get something to eat. While they were walking Jessica pointed out some of Sam's favorite restaurants.

"9 more weeks Jess." Sarah nuges her.

"Yep." Jessica gives her a small smile.

"You know what, we should go to a club. You need to go out and have some fun."

"I have fun."

"Not lately. You are acting like he will never be home! He will. All you can do is wait. Being upset about it will just make it go by slower."

"You're right."

"I know you better than anyone Jessica Phyllis Lange. Am I wrong?"

"No." Jessica laughs

"It's Friday! Let's go to the mall and get some cute clothes."

Jessica smiles and looks at Sarah.

"College is awesome, there are so many parties we can go to!"

**

Jessica and Sarah went to the mall and picked out some cute dresses and heals. It was a while since Jessica was excited about something. Sarah tried to get Jessica's mind off things.

"I plan to get wasted tonight. You should plan to also." Sarah says

"If you get wasted than I have to take you home and watch you."

"That's why if we are both wasted we won't have to worry about each other."

"I will have a few drinks, but I don't want to wake up next to a random stranger."

"Ugh, jessie!"

"No Sarah, you can get wasted but I am fine." Jessica giggles.

**
Around 10 Sarah and Jessica left Jessica's apartment and headed to a party on campus. When they got their the lawn was filled with solo cups and beer cans. Loud music played from inside. People sat outside smoking and others laid passed out on the lawn.

"People are passed out already? Holy shit." Jessica says examining the lawn.

"This is going to be amazing. Come inside so I can introduce you to some people!" Sarah takes her hand and pulls her up the stairs.

When she gets in she sees people running around laughing, dancing, singing, and drinking. The energy inside was so much fun.

"Okay, so you know a lot of people here. But if a guy comes up to you don't push him away jessie."

"I won't push away, but I will make it clear that I am taken."

Sarah raises her eyebrow and Jessica and pulls her aside.

"No! Sam left you here alone for 13 weeks. You deserve to try new things. You don't have to have sex but at least get to know people."

"Sarah, come on."

"Do it Jess! Just have fun!"

As they walk around Sarah introduces Jessica to some guys and girls that are in her classes.

"Hey Sarah! What are you doing here?" A tall man taps Sarah's shoulder. Sarah turns around and here eyes light up.

"Daniel Huston! Just the guy I wanted to see!" Sarah says giving him a hug.

Jessica looks at him and gives him a small smile.

"Jessica, this is Danny. He is my tutor for government.

Danny, this is my friend Jessica Lange."

"Hey, nice to meet you." Danny says holding out his hand.

"Hi, nice to meet you too."

"So, you are studying law?" She adds

"Yea, I graduate this year."

"Ah, that's cool." Jessica smiles

Sarah looks at Jessica and gives her a thumbs up running away.

Danny turns around and stands next to Jessica.

"Haha, Sarah tells me a lot about you."

"Oh gosh."

"Good things, trust me."

"That's refreshing." Jessica laughs

"So, do you want to go get a beer or something?"

"Yea, that would be nice."

Danny and Jessica walk to a different part of the party were it isn't as loud. They sit down and talk.

"I am not a huge fan of these parties." Jessica says

"Me neither. I always get too nervous. Does that sound silly?"

"No, of course not."

"Good. I don't want to give off a bad first impression. Just because you are doing so well."

"What do you mean?"

"I have known you for 20 minutes and you just interest me so much. I can't explain."

"Oh, well you are giving off a pretty good first impression too."

A few hours later Danny and Jessica had a few drinks and went outside and sat on the swinging chair.

Jessica and Danny really got to know each other. They made each other laugh and had lots in common. Danny was so sweet to Jessica.

Sarah found them outside and came up to Jessica.

"Hey jessie. Can you get another ride home? I am going to go home with Evan."

Evan  was Sarah's boyfriend.

"Okay, please be careful."

"I will."

Sarah runs off and Jessica let's out a sigh.

"Hey, do you need a ride home?"

"No, I live a few blocks away. I can walk."

"How about I walk you home. I don't want you to be alone." Danny looks at her and takes her hand.

"Um, okay. But than you will be walking home alone."

"Don't worry about me."

Danny and Jessica stand up and start walking towards her apartment.

"So, Jessica. In this whole night, we got to know each other, we laughed a lot, and we didn't get drunk.

Out of this whole night I didn't ask you one thing."

"What would that be?" Jessica says with a smile.

"Do you like Chinese food?" Danny looks up at the restaurant sign underneath them.

Jessica laughs and nods her head. "Let's get some, it's on me."

"It's on me Jess."

"Okay, we can take it back to my apartment."

Jessica and Danny order take out than take it back to the apartment.

Jessica and Danny sit on the couch and eat their food.

"This is a nice place." He says looking around.

"Thanks, I love home decor."

"Interior design?"

"I wish."

"You should do it. This apartment looks amazing." Danny looks around some more.

"Well thank you. You are too sweet." Jessica blushes.

"It was really nice getting to know you. I am happy we met."

"I enjoyed myself." Jessica laughs.

"I can't help but notice the picture of you and that guy. Are you with someone?"

Jessica looks over at a picture of her and Sam that sat on the coffee table.

"I am sorry. I should Have told you.

His name is Sam. He left for the marines 4 weeks ago."

"So you have a boyfriend?"

"Yes."

"Oh nice. I bet he is a great guy. He is lucky."

Jessica laughs.

"I don't want to interfere with your relationship, if I came off as trying to flirt or something I am sorry."

"It's okay. I didn't think you were. You are just a nice guy."

"I hope we can be friends, and do something like this again."

"Me too, I am sorry I didn't say anything."

"If you did or didn't I would still think of you as a friend. Jess, I am not that kind of guy to expect something out of a girl the first time we meet. I have to much respect for women."

"I am glad to hear... you are a nice guy Danny. I really had a great time."

"Thank you for a great night, and inviting me into your beautiful apartment."

"Don't thank me! I owe you a thank you!"

Jessica smiles and they look at each other. Jessica than looks away than looks at the picture of her an Sam.
