Chapter 72
Jungkook had taken Boram down a corridor and had found a corner that would give them enough privacy to talk about what he wanted to talk about, her feeling more and more hesitant and nervous in every step she had taken following him out of that room that was full of eyes that had made her feel a bit safer.
She was aware that he disliked her to the bone and he snaps at her every time she is to appear before him, so him going to her willingly and asking her to give him a minute, was beyond suspicious to her. Regardless she had rolled with it for maybe she could get a chance to at least be forgiven by her rashed and wrong actions towards him so far.
"I am so happy you finally are willing to listen to me Jungkook-shi." She smiled at him once their footsteps had finally halted and Jungkook had thrown a look around just to make sure that no one was seeing them or eavesdropping on them.
"Don't be so happy. I am not here to listen to you. I am here to let you know that I finally figured your plan out." His stern gaze fell on her as hostile as always towards her and she found herself playing with her hands out of nervousness, before she plastered a bigger smile, pretending to not know what he was talking about. An action that ticked Jungkook's nerves made him take one step closer to her and she stepped back in order to maintain a safe distance.
" There's no plan Jungkook-shi. I am just in love with you. I like you. I know I made some mistakes in approaching you but I never meant to make you feel bad...I was just trying to be noticed..." She uttered the usual bunch of lies he had heard before with the same vulnerable cute gaze that he dispised on her for he didn't believe her at all. That so-called love of hers was nothing but a crazy obsession in his eyes until tonight that he learned that it was not that either. She was not crazy, she was just a liar trying to trap him and that somehow made him even more pissed off at her.
"You like me? ...Are you confident about that?" He raised an eyebrow at her, having decided to make her break her facade no matter what it's gonna take.
"Yes...I do like you."
"Then sleep with me." The words that rolled out of his mouth had her visibly surprised as Boram's eyes grew wide and her lips parted slightly as a confusing phoneme left her mouth.
"Wha-What?" She tilted her head to the side, her eyebrows furrowed as her mind was still struggling to comprehend what he had told herm, for she had never imagined those words to leave from his lips, especially after all the tantrums he has been throwing because of her.
There was no way he would willingly offer to her what she has been trying to do for so long. It was too good to be true and thus she just kept blinking at him as he maintained eye contact with her and took one more step closer to her, she not pulling back this time for she was frozen.
"What's the matter? I don't love you nor do I like you to the slightest. But if we can settle this with a one night stand, so be it." He added as he left his arm travel around her waistline and pull her closer, noticing the way her breath hitched once her hands fall against his chest.
"Let's find a room, right here right now." He whispered in her ear, bringing her mind to chaos for even though that was her aim, she had yet to prepare herself emotionally for that moment nor she could sleep with him in an environment where she could not obtain proof of their actions. It would all be for nothing if that was to happen, her sacrifice would go to waste and since it most likely won't happen twice, she would have nothing to present to her mother.
Jungkook didn't wait for a reply as he took hold of her wrist and started pulling her with him, opening one door after another on the corridor they were at, in search of a comfortable enough room, luckily coming across a library room that had a couch. He pulled her inside the room and after he closed the door he grabbed her against it as he placed his hands on both sides of her body, enjoying the fact that she must be losing her mind right that moment.
"How about you start getting those clothes off for me?" He left a small smirk to appear on his lips as he purposely left his eyes to travel her body in a bulgar way, waiting for her to react but all she looked was scared.
"I...I-maybe this is a bit too fast." Boram managed to utter as her hands crossed above her chest and took hold of the hem of her dress in an almost desperate manner.
"Why is that so? I thought you said that you love me. You like me. You got in my room to take pictures of me in bed. Why have the pictures when you can have the real thing?" He pressured now realizing that the night he had caught her above his head, she most likely wasn't trying to get pictures of him in bed because she was obsessed, but she was trying to take pictures with him in bed, so she could blackmail him later, without giving anything up from her side.
"I- I am really so sorry." She mumbled as her gaze lowered on the floor making him show his annoyance as a loud scoff escaped his lips.
"You seriously play too much, thinking that there won't be any consequences just because you are who you are. Go search for another victim and tell your mother to go find the money she lost on gambling from someone else." His words made her snap her head back at him quickly, visible shock in her face caused by the fact that he actually knew everything.
"You should consider yourself lucky that I am not going right now to your father and telling him everything. You better stay out of my life from now on. You hear me." He warned her with the hostile look she was familiar with and she pursed her lips before nodding her head at him, admitting defeat, only for him to step away and pull her from the door, so he could open it and take his leave, allowing her to slide on the floor once alone, her head soon getting buried under her hands at the realization that she had screwed up.
Mother is gonna kill me...what do I do...what do I do?!
Fear took over her face as images of past punishments she had endured passed in her mind, making her want to disappear. But unfortunately, just like any other time, she had nowhere to run to. Nowhere to hide. She failed and she had to see through the consequences of letting her mother down.
---time skip---
Jimin was driving the car heading home, with you on the passenger's seat, looking out of the window while silence had engulfed the atmosphere between you two.
After the comforting hug you shared for some minutes by the front gate, and after you had accepted to leave as he had suggested, despite the fact that you had agreed to stay with Jungkook till the end of this night, you had entered the vehicle and just informed him of your leave through a text, before you turned off your phone completely.
Your chest was still feeling heavy and your emotions had grown quite numb with the passage of time, making you unavailable and unwilling to hear anything or deal with anyone's else issues for a while. In your mind, your father's face still was fresh in your memory and the words you exchanged kept echoing again and again in a way that was almost making you desperate to fall asleep, just so you wouldn't be conscious.
The more you had tried to do that, however, the more difficult it had become so you had opened your eyes and were aimlessly just observing the city go by, until Jimin's words popped in your head, making a question rise inside you. A wonder that took the best of you and so you turned your head around to take a glance of his figure before you looked away again and uttered the words that disturbed the silence.
"What made you think that I don't really hate him?" From the corner of your eye, you saw him turn his head towards you briefly, before he focused on the road again, a small smile visible on his plump lips.
"You looked broken why saying it out loud...When you really hate someone, it doesn't hurt to say it. Or so I think it is."
"You are wrong." You deadpanned, unwilling to admit at that claim no matter what. You hated him and that was the only truth you will ever accept.
"It's okay, you don't have to admit it. Do whatever is less hurtful to you. You don't have to always face everything heads on. When you heal enough, you will be able to state things as they are." His comforting words somehow made you feel annoyed even if it was visible that he had good intentions. It was a tough pill to swallow and he most likely knew that already as he flashed you a smile once he sensed your piercing gaze that had fallen on him.
"For someone that is messed up and full of wounds, you sure speak too many right words. Don't you know that they can feel annoying?" You uttered just as he turned to enter the parking lot of your apartment building.
"Right words sure are annoying and they are things we all know. But putting them to practice is always difficult and it varies for each individual. I don't say them because I don't know how they feel or get perceived by someone who is hurt, I tell them because they are inevitable facts and as such somehow hopeful too...You know every mistake you have ever done, every scar you carry may be something you can't undo...but every effort you have put, every good intention you have had before something came apart, every time you have put yourself up after a failure that brought you to your knees, they are also facts. We are as strong as we are weak and to me, that equality is somehow...hopeful." He had been speaking as he was parking the car, uttering the last word, just as he turned off the engine and brought his eyes to face yours.
"You know...you are really a weird person." Was all you uttered after some seconds of eye contact you had with him, then stepped out of the car, with him following your actions while speaking to you.
"Thank you Jimin, you are trying so much to comfort me, it's so nice of you." His sarcastic words as he tried to mimic your voice, brought your lips to tag upwards unwillingly, finding it slightly funny that he gets petty at small things and ain't embarrassed to show it.
"I seriously can't believe you." You looked past your shoulder at him as you headed towards the elevator and he locked the car before he rushed by your side and continued.
"You put yourself in danger for me by coming to save me from crashing on the ground like a watermelon in the middle of the night while injured yourself. I will never be able to repay you~"
"Shut up!" Your smile grew bigger once in the elevator and you ended up hitting his arm to make him stop, only to cause him to give you a stern look as he left a phoneme of pain.
"You are hitting an already injured person? The audacity." He sure looked dramatic as he held his arm, knowing that you hadn't hit him that hard and that only made you laugh more as the elevator's door closed.
A laugh that he couldn't help but stare at, with a smile on his face that he was not aware that he had, enjoying the fact that he had made your mood a bit better.
