"I remember there being pain in my chest just after Balies burst into flames."

"Right after he burst into flames." Erika repeated me almost like she was trying to figure out something.

"What?"

"How did the pain in your chest feel?"

"Like a burning sensation."

"Burning, you must have felt what Balies was feeling. Being around yourself and watching must set off some reaction."

"That's weird."

"Maybe we shouldn't go into the portal anymore it may be dangerous for you."

"Come on all I felt was burning."

"Yeah burning so bad you just blacked out, plus I don't think it's a good idea for you to even remember your past, you probably know too much now."

"I think I will be okay, what time is it?"

"It's actually only eleven, when we came back only one minute has passes since we went through the portal, so when we came back it was only ten o' one."

"Erika?"

"Yeah?"

"I had another dream like before only this time is looked as if it was in the future. There was love and then pain and we were both in the forest. I couldn't help but see how beautiful you were and I couldn't resist you."

"I won't let that happen to you, I will just move away and let myself die rather than see you in pain once again. You need to live a long happy life for once."

"I won't let you die either. Hey what if I can make a portal to the heavens, make some kind of offer?"

"Do you even think that will work?"

"We don't know unless we try. How about we try after I see everything about my past life."

"Fine I can't stop you anyway but don't expect to go without me."

"Okay well I should probably get home, knowing my mom she will be waiting up on me; she is very protective of me still since I am her only son."

"Okay well I will see you Monday in class."

"See you later Erika."

            I get into my car and start to drive the ten minutes it takes to get to the comfort of my own home. As I drive down the road something catches my eye about a hundred feet ahead causing me to step on my breaks. It looks like a person and it was just standing out in the middle of the road. I roll down my window getting ready to yell out to the person.

"Hey get off the road you're gonna get yourself killed!" I yell at the person. It turns its head; it doesn't look human at all; with its glowing gold eyes, and slender body. With all this crazy stuff going on my body starts to go into fight-or-flight mode and just as I am about to step on the pedal the thing is right up at the window on the drivers' side. I look at my lock to see if my door was locked and of course it wasn't and just before the thing could reach its hands out to open my door or smash my window something attacks it. That something has big white wings like an eagle, like an angel. I get out of my car assuming I was safe now but when I get out that thing is on top of me bearing its teeth looking like it wants the rip my throat open. It looked like a demon. Soon the angle is pulling the demon off of me and I try to catch a glimpse of who it was. The angle pulls out a silver arrow and shoots it into the demon's chest and then poof he is gone. I turn my head and the angel comes out of the shadows only for me to notice the angel is Kylie.

"Kylie?" I question.

"Yeah it's me, now get in the car, I guess I have a lot of explaining to do."

"Uh yeah." I slowly get into my car, thinking as to why all this was happening to me. Kylie was an angle? No wonder she was so beautiful, I think. I finally reach my house and I lead Kylie up to my door step. I unlock the door to see the living room light on and my mom sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Mom why are you up this late?"

"I was just waiting up on you, hey Kylie. Bailey come here." I go up to my mom and she leans and whispers into my ear, "I thought you went out with that girl Erika."

"Mom I did but Kylie here was stranded, her car broke down and so I told her she can come here for the night."

"Okay sweetie well I am off to bed, behave okay." I go up to my room with Kylie following behind me. When we get into my room I head straight to my bed lying down with a groan.

"Okay so what's up Kylie?"

"Well yeah I guess you saw what you saw, I am an angel and I am one of them that have been down here to protect you."

"Dean said he was the only one."

"He was until you killed him and the job was passed down to me."

"What do you mean?"

"I am an angel I am called a Protector. Up in Heaven when we use to live up there we were supposed to be together until you fell in love with the demon here. That is kind of why I hate Etekah."

"What was that thing in the road?"

"A demon out to hunt you, there is quite a few scattered around here hunting for you."

"Why would they want me?"

"Well it is a long story actually, after Etekah's dad was granted back into hell he saw that you were on earth and he didn't want his daughter to have anything to do with anyone up from Heaven. Now he had Lucifer send out demons to do whatever it took to keep you away from his daughter and over the years there have been more and more and the only thing that can kill an immortal being for good is a silver arrow."

"I hate having to be a part of this life." I sigh

"I can tell you more about your life up in Heaven."

"Alright."

"So when you were a Watcher your job was to watch others and report back to The Protector what was going on since The Protector helped protect those down on earth. Well I am one of The Protectors and I was in love with you. Anyone up in Heaven was able to love each other since we were all in Heaven, but you never returned those feelings. When I found out you were in love with someone from earth, and not just anyone but a demon, I was pissed. Since you were a Watcher you had the eye on your hand that allowed you to go through portals, you were faithful enough not to go down to earth but you visit Etekah in her dreams."

"Wait since you're an angle doesn't that mean you can't have mind control used over you."

"Yeah that's right, so when Etekah used her mind control over me I pretended it worked not wanting her to know who I was, and also to protect Ron."

"So is there something I need to know about Ron?"

"Nah he is mortal and a great friend to you. I am surprised you came over to punch him for kissing me."

"Yeah well just a couple days ago you were still "in love" with me."

"I'm not gonna lie I am still in love with you, that will never change."

"I'm sorry." I was sincerely sorry, I had feelings for her at one point but I was never going to love her like I would Erika.

"It's okay, love is gonna do its thing." Kylie says smiling at me. "Oh and just to let you know I am not a slut, it was all an act, I just wanted to protect you, but loving you wasn't an act." She gets up from her seat of my bed and starts walking towards the door. "Have a good night Balies." She says right before she walks out the door. The way she said Balies almost sent shivers down my spine. It was weird hearing me be called that. It was already midnight and I just realized how tired I actually was, so I lie back down on my bed and fall into a dreamless sleep.

            Monday morning's sun was shining through my curtains causing me to squint my eyes in protest. Sunday I didn't do anything but lie in my bed and help my mother fix her car, a fix that was supposed to be done a long time ago. I get up from my bed and get ready for the day, to get ready to go back to school. The only good thing about school now was being able to see Erika in the one class that I had with her and now I didn't have to worry about Kylie anymore now that I knew everything. As usual I am running late for school, always hesitating to get out of bed. I have to skip breakfast but I make sure to give my mom a kiss on the cheek before I leave. The weather today was cold but sunny, normal weather in Lamar. As I walk out of the house the wind blows around me causing me to shiver. It was cold today, if there wasn't any wind it would be nice out. I jump into my car and send a quick text to Erika telling her to meet me out in front of the parking lot; I needed to tell her all about Saturday night. When I get there Erika is already parked in the parking space next to mine just sitting in her car waiting for me. She gets out of her car and gets into the passenger side of my car.

"Let's ditch today and you can tell me all about Saturday after you left." Erika suggests.

"What makes little goody two shoes what to ditch?" I playfully say.

"Hey I am far from a goody two shoes." She smirks while hitting my arm playfully. "I just don't feel like being at school today, we can do something else."

"Okay anyway about last night. So as I was driving home some weird demon thing came and attacked me but then Kylie saved me. Kylie is a freaking angle, a Protector to be exact. She told me all about her and how she was in love with me up in Heaven and how she was jealous that I loved you."

"But I used mind control on her."

"She just faked it and don't worry Ron is human."

"Oh gosh maybe we should all just take a day off together and just get to know each other more she may know something we don't know."

"Good plan I will text her."

"No need for that." Kylie scares Erika and me as she gets into the back seat of my car. "So where are we going?"

"We haven't figured it out yet."

"Well I love road trip bonding. What would you say if I got all of us out of school for a week?"

"How did you do that?" Erika asks confused.

"Let's just say you're not the only one with mind control sweetie." I could tell that Kylie still didn't like Erika so much.

"Well excuse me if I didn't know you were a Protector."

"It's okay it didn't have a reason to be stated until now I guess. Now how about we get this road trip going."

"Where to?" I ask her since she seemed to know what she was doing.

"To Bulgaria, where it all started."
