Volume Thirteen

"Are you okay?" Baby asked as I laid down.

"Not really." I sighed. "I met Face through my baby father but that's my brother, then to live with his mother and sister and see how hurt they are that shit hurting my soul."

"I wish I could do something to help you feel better."

"Can I call you back? Somebody calling me." I told him as I saw an unknown number.

"Yeah, just text me if anything."

"Okay." I nodded answering the call. "Hello?"

"Spence?" I heard Kee voice making my heart start pound, he sounded so drained.

"Yes?"

"Can I see you?" He asked. "Please."

"I'm going to get me and Kreed ready now."

"I'm already outside."

"Okay."

I haven't spoke to Keohn in almost three weeks since we had that bad argument but I knew he was taking this shit with Face so hard. It was bigger than me and him right now. Plus, I know Kreed would make him feel better.

"Daddy!" Kreed ran to him as he bent down to pick him up.

"Hey man." Keohn hugged him.

"I can't breathe daddy." Kreed said being dramatic making us laugh.

"I'm sorry, I missed you so much."

"I miss you more daddy, I put you on."

"You gotta put me on?" He chuckled. "What's been going on?"

They walked to the car as he strapped him up while I got in the passenger seat, Kreed and Keohn talked throughout the whole ride while I sat there making sure Kreed didn't tell my business. When we got to the apartment, I looked around feeling bittersweet.

"Me and Face decorated it by ourselves." He sadly smiled. "He said it was a way to apologize to you."

"It looks really nice." I spoke looking around stopping in the kitchen. "This is how I made my kitchen design when we were 15."

"Yeah, I remembered." He nodded.

"This is amazing."

"Spencer I apologize." He spoke making me look at him. "I don't remember what I said to you but Face and em said I said some real out of pocket shit that I should be ashamed of. They won't tell me what I said-"

"You told me you'll get Kreed taken from me, how I was a ho and you tried to put your hands on me."

"Damn." He shook his head. "All you been hearing since I met you is sorry."

"Keohn it's-"

"Face was supposed to be home." He said tucking in his lips trying not to cry. "When I had that argument with you I had a big ass argument with his a few days later, we ain't talk since then. The last memory my brother got of me is me saying some bullshit."

"Kee stop." I told him feeling like I was about to cry.

"All he wanted me to do was stop using those pills, he was always tryna be a good brother and-"

"Face is not gone." I spoke. "He can come back from this and he will, stop talking like you gave up on him cause he have never gave up on you."

"I haven't picked up a pill since this happened." He spoke. "I did everything he told me to, I just want him to see shit he was saying didn't go unnoticed."

"What you mean you did everything he told you to?"

He pulled out his wallet handing me a card making me furrow my eyebrows as I looked at it. "I finally took the CO test and I passed."

"Wow." I spoke surprised. "When do you start?"

"I have to take a few more classes then I will be placed in a work site in less than a month."

"I'm honestly so proud of you." I spoke. "We may be at the worst we ever been but I will never put you down if you trying."

"I'm still young Spence so why I feel like I'm old?"

"It's cause we stress too much." I told him. "We've been through too much for us to even not be on speaking terms, Kreed is my whole but you're my other half, you've always been."

"I wish I would've never just invited your mother to the damn party then we wouldn't be how we are."

"We would've always been how we are because you needed to spread your wings."

"Spence-"

"Keohn, you wanted to be single. You seen how they was living having hoes and shit and you wanted to experience something you never did. I'm not mad at you, not one bit." I shrugged.

"I am though, I lost you, forever."

"I'm always with you." I told him. "If you lost me would I be standing in front of you?"

"Yeah, you only here because you know I'm going through it."

"That may be true, I just thank you for not cheating on me."

"I will never."

"When the last time you had a home cooked meal?" I asked standing up.

"When a home cooked meal had me." He said making me laugh.

"I'll cook then we can watch movies until it's time for me to go."

"Okay, I'll pick the first one." He smiled going to sit on the couch.

I washed my hands and looked in the refrigerator deciding what to eat.

"I always wondered why you would be shaving every three days and now I know why, look at this bush." I told Face laughing. "I need to bring in your razor."

For some reason I was just expecting him to wake up and make a joke but it was just silence, they told us to talk to him because he may be able to hear us.

I sat there with him for ten more minutes then I had to leave to pick up Kreed but on my way there Keohn told me he got him and he was taking him for the day. I was now back in the house looking around.

Ever since Face got shot, Sanaa house has been more tense. Yana was never here, she was either at the hospital or the police department.

Sanaa just been a wreck.

It came to the point where they had to rush her to the hospital because she almost passed away in her sleep.

"Where you was at?" She asked sitting on the couch watching Awkward. on Hulu.

"Hospital."

"You seen his face?"

"Right, he looking like a papi." I laughed making her smile.

"I want to be okay." She spoke looking at me as tears came to her eyes. "But I want him to be okay more."

"When have Face ever gave up?" I asked. "That boy make everything possible."

"You wanna go fight?"

"Girl what?" I scrunched up my eyebrows confused. "Who the fuck we fighting?"

"Brenda, Meeka, Lily and Madi."

"Huh boy." I rolled my eyes. "What they do?"

"They find my brother getting shot funny so-"

"So go get dress." I shrugged. "I don't have Kreed for the day, fuck it."

"Don't call Jala, she going to try to talk us out of it."

"Call Jaelyn." I shrugged. "Jaelyn always with it."

"Always." She chuckled.

"You feel better bitch?" Jaelyn asked Sanaa as she kicked Brenda in her face.

"Stop mentioning my fucking brother!" Sanaa kicked her again.

"Do it again, she ain't feel the first three." Ice spoke making me laugh.

"Why did you bring him?" I asked Jaelyn.

"Because he willing to knock bitches out."

"Y'all gon have to jump Meeka, that bitch big."

"Meeka real life can't fight." Jaelyn said making me agree. "Just big for nothing."

"That's nothing but the truth, I used to fight for all them no matter the height or weight." I spoke.

"Aight Sanaa, the girl eye gon be shut." Jaelyn grabbed her.

"It don't matter what you do to me." Brenda stood up trying to get up her stairs. "Face still gon be dead."

"Sanaa, Sanaa." I called her name as Ice grabbed her.

"I'm going to kill you." Sanaa said calmly as she stopped then turned around.

"Oh she meant that shit." Ice said. "You better disappear before she come back."

"And Spencer bitch I was nothing but a friend to you-"

"Girl bye, I'm not entertaining you." I turned around to get in the car.

"I ain't have this much fun since Mickey scalped somebody." Ice smiled as we all turned around to look at him.

"You bout to get out." I spoke. "You and Mickey really scare me."

"I love that shit!" Jaelyn yelled laughing.

We went to Meeka house but she didn't come outside so we said fuck it and went to the hospital, well them. I dropped them off then went to Baby house because honestly, it hurts more just watching Face in that bed.

"What you doing here?" He smiled coming to the door shirtless.

"Just wanted to stop by." I smiled as he let me in as his dogs ran over to me, he whistled making them stop altogether as they moved. "Damn, they trained."

"I don't play with them." He chuckled.

"You was doing something?"

"Nah, I was finna take a nap cause my daughter come later."

"Welp, I go." I chuckled.

"I'm not asking you to leave." He grabbed my hand.

"I have a child and I been through finding out unknown bitches been around ya child, that shit is disrespectful plus-"

"Her mother is dropping her off." He cut me off. "You can meet her too, she actually wanna meet you."

"I actually beat up a bitch today and I'm not tryna beat up ya baby mother so I hope she genuinely wanna meet me."

"She not like that Spence."

"Okay then."

"You be ready, can't even fight." He mushed my head making me laugh.

"I'll fuck you up."

"Let's take a nap."

I rolled my eyes following him into his room while looking around, this was the first time I been in his house. It was decorated real nice, I loved it, it gave a homey feeling. I knew his grandmother had decorated it.

He laid down then held the cover up for me to lay next to him, I smiled taking off my shoes as I laid down next to him. I snuggled next to him as he felt so warm, it put me to sleep instantly.

"I'm going to miss you." I told him as I rubbed through his dreads.

"Me too." He snuggled closer to me.

"It's crazy how I went from ignoring you to missing you."

"Best thing you could have did was go to the supermarket that day."

"No the best thing for you was Keohn and I breaking up cause even after seeing you at the supermarket I was never going to cheat."

"I respect it." He kissed my forehead. "How he doing?"

"He's fine, he's getting his life together."

"That's good, the way you describe him I knew he wasn't a bad dude. He just lost his way but hopefully this tragedy help him find his way."

"Keohn's literally the best person to be around." I smiled. "The thing about us was he wasn't just my boyfriend, he was my friend. That's why when he do stupid shit I could always just overlook it because I know how the real him is."

"I understand that, my babymother always wanted the me you have. The grown, mature me but she always got the opposite. I hurt that girl so bad she couldn't even stand to look at me."

"Your daughter looks just like you too so I knew that hurt her even more."

"She a real one because through all that, I got to see my baby girl whenever. Today's going to be the first time I see Autumn since my baby was a day old."

"Wow, she really was hurt."

"Man, my daughter had to have separate birthday parties and all. She ain't seen her parents together since she could remember but this year for her third, she gon be able to party with everybody she love."

I smiled hearing him talk about his daughter, that was the love of his life for real. He adored her more than anything.

Just as I said that the house bell rung, we sat up as he put on his basketball shorts. I stood up going in the living room to sit down on the couch. I heard talking then a baby screeching until I seen all three of them.

"You're so gorgeous." His baby mother, Autumn, said as she walked towards me making me smile.

"Same, you're so pretty. I'm Spencer."

"I'm Autumn and this is Peyton, say hi baby."

"Hi." She smiled real big making my heart start beating.

"This is baby fever for real, can I trade you in for my son for a day?"

"You have a son? I wanted a boy so bad, I cried when I found out I was having a girl."

"I mean we can just trade then cause listen." I smiled as she chewed on her hands. "Kreed a bad ass baby though, he like to fight."

"Girl who you telling? I be bout to square up with Peyton, them little baby hits hurts." She said making me laugh cause they do.

"Glad y'all getting along." Baby smiled putting his arms over both of our shoulders.

"Boy get ya tall ass off me." She looked at him making me laugh. "Ya ass going to Barcelona but couldn't take ya baby momma and daughter out the damn state."

"You never said you wanted to go anywhere." He laughed.

"Who don't want a free vacation? All expenses paid for? No money put down? A-"

"I get it." He looked at her. "Cheap ass."

"You ain't on child support, you could afford it."

"How about before the end of the summer, you, me, Spencer, ya mans, Kree and Pey take a vacation?"

"Now you talking my lingo."

"I ain't paying for ya mans shit though." He chuckled as she hit him.

"Well I gotta get to work so I'll be going." She sighed kissing Peyton on her cheek multiple times. "It was nice meeting you Spencer, don't hurt my baby daddy."

"Never." I chuckled as she walked out.

"Never huh?" He smirked.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes laughing.
