"You can't put me on punishment." I shrugged.

"I know you're going through a lot but you just got out of jail."

"You're dragging it, I was in a holding cell for a few hours. Either way, you didn't even have to bail me out so I'm not understanding the problem."

"The problem is I'm your fucking mother and you live here so until you pay your own fucking bills then you will listen to me."

"You want me to live here!" I yelled since she was frustrating me. "I told you I wanted to leave and you told me to stay."

"Jaelyn, you think the world so fucking simple. You think it's so easy because you always had it easy. You think I was keeping you here for my sake?"

"You talking bout I always had it easy, I have never had it easy! What because you gave me money I had it easy? You don't think I had to go through stuff?"

"You didn't have to go through nothing." She waved me off. "You was a teenager with no bills and nothing else to do."

"I'm done talking to you."

This was the problem in black households, parents don't think to consider their kids mental health in anything.

"You can give me your car keys."

"Girl, I bought my car from Reem with my actual money. You are not getting my car keys."

"You know what, you could get out right now. I'm tired of your disrespectful ass."

"That's fine with me."

"And since you wanna be disrespectful anything I bought you leave it."

"You aren't hurting me." I pulled out my phone to call my dad.

"Hello?" He answered. "Why she yelling at you?"

"She's mad because I'm not giving her my car."

"Fuck she want your car for?"

"She tried to put me on punishment because of that jail situation. Now she talking bout I gotta leave cause I'm disrespectful."

"Was you being disrespectful?"

"Probably but I don't care, this lady find every single way to pick on me. Like I get it you want your step daughter to be your daughter, you wished I was never born but-"

"Don't say that Jae."

"I'm just telling it how it is, she said it yesterday to her husband."

"She said that to him?"

"Yes, I went to go tell her something and I heard them talking."

"I'll knock her and her husband the fuck out."

"Dad chill, I'm just going to leave and I never wanna see this lady again."

"Where you going to go?"

"Esme has a extra room or I could stay with any of my brothers until I get a job and afford a apartment."

"Look for some apartments and I'll pay for it or you can come live with me, I'll send for you."

"Daddy, I already registered for school and stuff. I need to be here."

"Then I will get your apartment, look for some."

"Okay, let me call somebody to see if I can stay with them."

"If you have no luck, call me back I'll get you a hotel room."

"Okay, I'll call you back." I spoke as Jashon was calling. "Hello?"

"What you doing?"

"Trying to find somewhere to stay until I could afford my own apartment, what you doing?"

"How you trying to pass through that?" He asked.

"Cause I'm not tripping." I shrugged. "I'm just ready to get away from this lady, you should be lucky you didn't grow up with her bitter ass."

"I have a extra room if you want it."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, I was actually finna ask you to spend the night with me anyway. We could go out or stay in, whatever you want."

"Okay, I'm packing my stuff now. Just send your address, I'll be there."

"Bout to right now."

"Bet."

I hung up starting to pack my stuff as she came in my room making me roll my eyes, I grabbed the PINK duffel putting all my bras, panties and shirts in there as neatly as I could. I grabbed my jewelry box putting it in my bag, once I was done with that bag I moved on to another one.

I wanted to grab every single thing now because who knows if I come back and she fuck around and threw the rest of my stuff away. I made sure I didn't take anything that she bought me, I grabbed all my pictures and my sheets and pillows off my bed. I meant everything.

I went to load my car as Laurie and her dad was looking, I scrunched my face up. I was disgusted with all these people in this house.

"Don't come back."

"I don't plan to." I threw my key on the front porch then got in my car going to the address.

As I was halfway there, my phone started ringing. I noticed somebody was calling me on Instagram video, I looked at it noticing it was Shep. I smiled answering it, as soon as it connected he smiled so hard making me smile harder.

"I miss you yo." He spoke.

"I really miss you too." I said honestly.

"Where you at? Imma pull up on you."

"I'm going to my brother house, you could help me move my stuff in."

"Brother? Your stuff? What the fuck?"

"So much." I shook my head.

"Aight gimme the address." He hung up as I texted him the address then texted my brother telling him I was on my way and Shep was going to meet me there.

When I got there I looked around the complex, I gave security my name as they called him. Once everything was confirmed I drove to his apartment, he opened the door grabbing the bags I had. When I walked in Shep was sitting in the living room making me smile.

I jumped on him hugging him tightly as he chuckled holding me back while rocking me, I really missed him so much. He kissed my forehead then let me go as I stood up.

"I'm bout to run to the supermarket real quick, ya room is the last door on the left and you could find ya way around." Jay spoke making me nod.

"Can you get me some little bites? The party cake ones?"

"Aight." He said walking out the door.

"Yo, y'all look alike." Shep spoke grabbing my bags putting them in the room.

"Right, I said that too. That's Jala and I brother, that's Jala father and my mother son."

"Whaat?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"I got so much to tell you." I shook my head.

That's what we did, we spent hours talking about everything going on in both of our lives. We didn't have a awkward moment or even a moment where we felt like it was more.

"I really miss you yo." He spoke making me smile. "Nia don't got shit on you."

"She never did." I chuckled. "And you knew that before you cheated."

"I still don't know why I cheated." He shook his head.

"You was just caught up with the fame that came with being known." I shrugged. "I'm not heartbroken about it no more so we could have this decision."

"Maybe we just wasn't meant to be nothing but friends."

"That's true cause we always been the best of friends even through our relationship."

"Real shit." He nodded. "Like with Nia, I can't talk to her about certain shit and she get mad when I say I wish I could talk to you."

"That girl hate my guts." I laughed. "How you hate my guts because you took my boyfriend? Bitch you should be celebrating."

"She gon have a bitch fit when she found out I was with you, let alone ya house."

"Sound like a you problem." I chuckled.

"Imma still post you." He laughed as I covered my face.

"What I'm covering my face for? I'm fine as hell." I smiled.

"Talk yo shit." He chuckled.

"Taking exes back all summer." I laughed as he busted out laughing.

"You so fucking aggravating." He chuckled ending the video. "You gotta gimme ya new number so I could stop hitting you up on Instagram."

"Gimme ya phone." Doing as I said he handed me his phone as I entered my number.

"I'm bout to leave, come walk me out." He spoke as I stood up.

I walked him out, we hugged for like two minutes then I watched him get in his car and pull off. When I went back in the house Shon was sitting at the counter eating chicken.

"So that's Shep?" He asked.

"Yeah."

"Seem like the love still there."

"It'll always be there, that's my first love. Nothing or nobody can take that title from us."

"As they shouldn't." He smirked. "You wanna play 2k with me?"

"Imma whoop ya ass." I smiled going to the livingroom.

"You'll meet ya match."

"Everybody say that til they looking at the t.v in shock."

"Yeah, yeah." He chuckled turning the t.v on.

"You got so many clothes." I looked around Dai closet. "Shit is like a department store."

"I like looking nice."

"Where these jeans from? These shits dope."

"Walmart."

"What?" I scrunched my face up. "So you telling me you some Walmart jeans next to your Fendi jeans?"

"I'm not into labels, if I see something I like I get it. It could be from fucking Family Dollar, I'm still gon get it."

"I swear you just grow more on me everyday."

"Why wouldn't I?" He chuckled.

"Can we play 2k?" I asked looking at all his games.

"I don't really fuck with 2k." He spoke. "I mean we could play though."

"I need to build my portfolio up, I only been beat once by my- well this boy named Reem."

"I ain't say I was ass, I just said I don't fuck with 2k."

"I don't care, I'll still blow you out."

"You talk too much." He dropped his suitcase. "Put ya money where ya mouth is."

"Oh you wanna bet? I'm deflee bout to kick up. What you wanna bet?"

"If I win, come with me to Barcelona."

"First of all, I don't have a passport. Secondly, I don't have money. Thirdly, I don't speak no damn Spanish. I barely speak English."

"First, I can get you a passport by next week. Second, I said come I didn't say pay for anything. Third, I speak Spanish."

"I can't take that kind of money from you, I know I play a lot but-"

"Jaelyn, I'm not asking you to marry me." He chuckled. "Just take a trip with me."

"Dai-"

"I mean you only come if I win, right?"

"Right but-"

"So do what you said you was and blow me out."

"Bet." I said still lowkey freaked out.

"I'm nervous as fuck." I spoke looking around the plane. "I have never been on a plane before."

"Never?" JoJo asked.

"Never. I think I'm going to have a panic attack." I spoke breathing real hard.

"Jae look look look look." Baby spoke grabbing my face. "Watch me breathe then you do it."

"It's not working." I panicked as I felt the plane start to move. "I wanna get off, I wanna get off."

"Jae, Jae look at me." Dai spoke making me look in his eyes. "Hold my hand and look in my eyes, don't take your eyes off my eyes."

"Why the plane shaking?!" I panicked just when I had calmed down.

"It's turbulence, the plane going up. It's supposed to happen, it's going to stop in a minute." Dai spoke.

"Jae, you want something to drink?" Baby asked.

"I could take a bottle right now!" I yelled making them laugh.

"Stop yelling." Dai laughed. "Get her some Dusse, I want some too."

They handed me half of cup as I drunk it real fast, I continued looking at Dai as he held eye contact. I was so scared then I had to do this all over again when we had to leave, I'm so mad he beat me.

"It was that bad?" Dai asked as we walked into the air bnb.

"No but the beginning was." I rolled my eyes.

"We only got one with three rooms, so I'll sleep on the couch-"

"Why would you sleep on the couch when this was your trip? Y'all paid for this." I cut JoJo off.

"And why would we let a woman sleep on the couch as we laying comfortably on beds?" Baby asked.

"Because y'all paid for it." I said slowly. "I'll just sleep with Dai so nobody has to sleep on the couch."

"Aight, well I'm going to sleep. I'll see y'all in the morning."

"Why am I the only girl?" I asked Dai as we walked to his room.

"None of us got girlfriends." He shrugged. "Spence got a baby so you know she couldn't come for Baby."

"So if it was a boys trip, why you tell me to come?"

"It wasn't a boys trip, when we go on trips we meet females but the only one really looking is JoJo."

"Oh, you not looking?" I smirked.

"You all I could see."

"For right now." I scoffed laughing.

"This why I don't say soft shit to you, gotta treat you like one of the boys."

"You with the gang." I smiled making him laugh.

"Little ass boy, I'm bout to go take a shower real quick before I go to bed."

"Aight."

I pulled out my snacks and started to eating as Dai phone started ringing. I walked into the bathroom. He was naked, he ain't flinch, try to cover his self or nothing he just looked at me.

"Your phone ringing." I told him holding it out. "It's Jassy, this the one who work at my good sis shop, right?"

"Yeah."

"She telling people you her boyfriend." I said making him look at me with furrowed eyebrows. "When you dropped me off, Esme told me you her boyfriend."

"The way I told you I don't want a girlfriend, I say it the same exact way to any girl." He told me. "I ain't never been scared to tell a female wassup."

"I'm just letting you know." I shrugged.

"Get in the tub with me."

"Okay." I chuckled looking around the bathroom, this shit was so beautiful.

I stripped down as he watched me, the bubbles he poured in was now starting to form. He walked out the bathroom to the room then came back pouring something into the bath.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Some crystals to help your body relax and relieve stress."

"Fauncy." I smiled as he chuckled.

He started lighting candles then grabbed the bottle of dusse, he poured some into two glasses then turned the light off. I debated if I wanted to strip all the way down or stay in my bra and panties.

I stripped all the way down.

"You said a female can ask you for anything since y'all fucking but we ain't fucking so why you been spoiling me?"

"I ain't never took a girl out the country with me, let alone the state." He shook his head smiling. "I like you I guess, you just different."

"But why?"

"I can't explain it, I just fuck with your vibe. You know I have money but you don't ask me for the shit. You genially wanna know me, you ask me questions about me and you'll just lay around with me ina room all day and don't complain."

"I just love being around you because of the way you think, you have me thinking about long term shit then we have endless conversations. I feel like you was meant to be in my life honestly."

"Word, like we was meant to meet each other that night." He leaned back as I admired him, this one fine ass nigga. "You know the drinking age here is 18?"

"I'm bout to slap down my ID like it's Nathan!" I yelled smiling as he chuckled.

While he was laughing, I took a picture of him. When we got out, we took some pictures as naked as we can be.

I posted three of them in my close friends on Instagram making sure everything was covered along with his face.

I took another one of us when we was dressed putting a big ass emoji on his face, I was waiting for that to be in all the group chats and the talk of the town.

"This is where the cheetah girls was filmed!" I yelled looking around grabbing Baby arm. "I'm really in another country."

"How many times you gon repeat that?" JoJo laughed.

"Until my ass back home."

"Let her have her moment." Dai chuckled.

"One of y'all gotta record me dancing to this song because I'm too hype." I spoke as they all looked at each other.

"Not it!" Baby and Dai yelled making JoJo glare.

"Y'all niggas childish." He said as they laughed while I handed him my phone with the song already playing.

"You gotta strut like you mean it, free your mind it's not enough just to dream it. Come on, come on get up! When you feel it's your chance to shine, strut like you mean it!" I sung alone.

"Walk that way, grab that pole, spin around, drop down." JoJo kept directing me as I did everything he said.

"You giving me Mary J Blige vibes." Baby said making us laugh.

"I'm really so happy, I needed this fun." I told Dai grabbing his arm after posting my video.

"I told you when you met me, I just wanted you to have fun. I just want you to keep that childish ass smile on your face." He kissed my forehead as we started walking.

I couldn't wait to tell Esme.
