Chapter 5
Here's another one for you guys :) Also this sorta breaks my rule for shipping (NONE OF THE SOCK GANG THOUGH, JUST SAYING) And this chapter I was half-asleep making it so if it seems weird I am sry.
After Socks explained the plan, they decided to take a nap first. They all needed it, but Meme was still up, full of energy. He got up, and went over to where the two axolotls were. They squeaked when they saw him, and the pink one jumped out of its bucket, and crawled into his lap. "You're really cute, you know that, right?" Meme asked. The axolotl chirped. The blue one came out, and also joined Meme and his buddy. The two of them fell asleep. Meme chuckled. He was definitely going to miss these guys. He looked around. He was going to try to remember where this spot was so he could come back here. Nadwe appeared next to him, making him jump. "Sorry." Nadwe said. "You good?" Meme asked. Nadwe got quiet. "I'm sorry I made you go through all that." he said softly. Meme was surprised. "Nadwe, why are you sorry? I got to experience something kinda cool to be honest." Meme said. Nadwe smiled. "So we have two vampires now." Nadwe said. "More like one and a half." Meme smiled. They laughed, trying to be quiet, so as to not wake the others. "At least I am immune to the sun, so that's good." Meme said. "Oh yeah. I found out I can phase through stuff again." Nadwe said. "Really?" Meme asked. "Yeah. When Blaza and Jooice told me everything, I sorta half-phased through the floor. They had to pull me up." Nadwe said with a chuckle. They sat in silence for a little while, and the blue axolotl was in Nadwe's lap now. "Everything feels different now. I still feel like I was never revived." Nadwe said. Meme could see that Nadwe still felt like he was trapped in death's hands. "Hey, it'll be fine. We'll both find our way around this." Meme said. Nadwe smiled. "Laff only knows about this. But how is he doing?" Nadwe asked. "He hasn't spoken much. It's been a while since L4FF came back, and the fact that he didn't attack us is probably baffling him." Meme said. Nadwe nodded. Meme looked at the pink axolotl, and took the bandages off. The wound was fully healed. He smiled. "I'm going to miss these guys." Nadwe said, cuddling with the blue axolotl. It chirped sadly, as it knew that they were going to be leaving soon. "Let's bring them with us." Meme said. "How? They need water." Nadwe said, placing the blue axolotl in the bucket. "Hold on." Meme said. He focused and water appeared in his hands. He formed a shield around the pink axolotl, and when he finished, it was encased in a water case. It was amazed at this, and when it walked, it started to walk in the air. "That...is amazing." Nadwe said. Meme did the same to the blue one, and the two axolotls were jumping around in the air. "What other stuff did I do as a vampire?" Nadwe asked. "Well, you're a lot stronger than I thought." Meme said. Nadwe sighed. "I'm glad I didn't make you a full vampire like me. I wish I knew that you only had to bite them so long for the curse to transfer, then maybe...maybe I didn't have to be a full vampire." Meme stayed close to Nadwe. "You know, I kinda dig my new eye color." Meme said, looking at his reflection. "What do you think about the fangs?" Nadwe asked. "I could also dig them, but that might be a while." Meme said. They both laughed quietly, and soon, both of them fell asleep.
...
When the group woke up, Nadwe told them that it was nighttime, about 1:00 in the morning to be exact. "Okay, Nadwe and Meme. You guys know what to do." Socks said. They both nodded, and changed into bats and flew up to the ceiling. "Okay, let's see if we can do this." Meme said. He flew around some stalactites, and found an area where there were about only three or four hanging, and a large clear area surrounded them. "I found a spot!" he called to Nadwe. Nadwe flew back to the group, and led them to where the spot was. Nadwe was given a rope vine by Dino, and he flew up to where Meme was. "Ready?" Nadwe asked. "Yeah." Meme replied. They wrapped it around one of the stalactites and flew back down. "Here we go. Everyone watch out." Blaza said. Dino pulled the vine back, with as much strength as he could muster. They heard a crack, and Blaza stopped it before it came down. "Dang. Next one." Socks said. Nadwe and Meme brought the vine back up, and they repeated it. This time, there was a bigger crack, and more than just stalactites fell. "I got a better plan. When Dino pulls, Blaza pulls too." Laff said. They decided to try it, and when they did, they heard much more cracking. When Meme and Nadwe flew up, they saw a small hole. "I can see stars!" Nadwe said. "Try to go through it, phase through." Meme said. When Nadwe did, he found himself in a forest. He saw soft lights a distance away. He flew towards it, and what he saw made his heart light. It was their base, and when he flew a bit more, he found the village. "Home." he whispered. He flew back to the little hole. "Guys, we're right next to the base!" Nadwe said. Meme passed the message. "Seriously!" Muffin said. "That's cool, and also why are the axolotls flying in water cases in the air, Meme?" Laff asked. "Thought we might as well bring them here, they're lonely down here." Meme said. "Fair enough. I would miss these guys." TBH said, the blue axolotl on his head. It squeaked with happiness, as it found it was going with them. "Tell Nadwe to get Natalie and Zack." Socks said. When Meme told him, Nadwe hesitated. "I'm supposed to be dead." Nadwe said. Meme didn't know what to say. "Just make them believe." Meme told him. Nadwe nodded, and he flew as fast as he could to where the island was. He circled around the castle, and flew through a window. "Okay, where are you guys?" He muttered to himself. He flew around the castle, and when he was near Natalie's room, he found the door open. "Where did they go Zack?" he heard Natalie whisper. He landed on the ground, and peeked around the corner. He saw Natalie on the bed, crying as Zack comforted her. "First Nadwe died, now all of them disappear, what?" and she burst into tears. Zack held her close, tears falling down his own face. Nadwe flew into the air, and entered the room. They didn't notice him. "I guess it must've been a while." Nadwe said. Natalie's head shot up, and Zack turned to him. "Nadwe?" Natalie whispered. He changed back to human, and stood nervously in front of them. "Hey guys." he said. Natalie stared at him, then got off the bed and ran to him and gave him a big hug. "Nadwe, you're alive!" she exclaimed. "Yeah." Nadwe said. Zack came over and also gave him a hug. "But how?" Zack asked. "Well...that's a long story, but we need to get the others." Nadwe said, quickly changing the subject. Natalie and Zack immediately got ready, and Nadwe led them to the hole. He flew a distance ahead to give Meme time to warn the others. Natalie and Zack got there, and Nadwe changed back to human. "Stand back." she said, her eyes glowing platinum. They took the warning and stepped back. A vine appeared in the hole, and she started to push it and widen the hole. Sweat began to drip down her forehead. Once the hole was wide enough, she shouted. "GUYS GET OUT!" An updraft came from the hole, and everyone was lifted up and out of the hole by Muffin. She stopped moving the vine, and Blaza covered the hole with dirt. Everyone was happy. They were reunited, and Natalie and Zack were so happy Nadwe was back. "You guys have a lot of explaining to do." Zack said. "Yeah, I guess we should." Meme said. "First, I want to know how Nadwe is back." Natalie asked. So they explained what the two people did, and that Nadwe was having trouble controlling his new powers. "We'll figure that out." Meme said. "What happened on your neck Meme?" Zack asked. Meme put his hand to it, nervous for some reason. "I...um...kinda lost it, and I may have...bit Meme?" Nadwe said. Zack and Natalie looked at each other. "Um..." Natalie said. "So you're a vampire now?" Zack asked. "More like half-vampire. Apparently, according to L4FF, in order for the curse to fully enter, he needed to bite me in the neck, still in the neck, and suck my blood for ten seconds, but he only bit me for about five. The good news is that I don't burn in the sun, thanks to Socks, but I can turn into a bat." Meme explained. Natalie looked at Laff out of the corner of her eye. Laff gave her a look that he would tell later, and she moved on. "I was so worried about you guys." Natalie said. "We both were. You guys disappeared and we feared that something bad had happened." Zack said. "Well, we're all okay. And we found some new friends." TBH said. Natalie and Zack were confused, when Natalie felt something bump against her leg. She looked down and gasped. It was an axolotl. She felt her face light up, and she picked up the axolotl. "You're so cute!" she said, cuddling the axolotl. It chriped with happiness, and the blue one bumped Zack's leg. "Okay, these guys are definitely cute." Zack laughed. "I'm calling you Bubble." Natalie said. "I think I'll call mine...Flounder." Zack said. Laff gave them the bucket's and they put their axolotls in them. "Come on, let's go home, and explain what happened." Natalie said. "And maybe something to eat, cause I think we're all starving." Nadwe said. "Yeah, we can get something to eat." Zack laughed.
...
"Master Seth, maybe you should pull away from this rage for a minute and think this clearly!" Sonja said. Seth stopped punching the wall, his chest rising and falling. They both were in a small cave, which they called home. "How the hell did we manage to lose the one thing that we could've used to trap them?!" Seth yelled. "We didn't expect the vampire to remember everything. The only thing I can think of that would allow them to remember is that they have a strong friendship with someone in the group. I believe that would be the one called Meme." Sonja said. She led Seth to a chair, and started to mummer something under her breath. Seth felt relief and calmness fill him. Sonja was extraordinarily amazing at her magic. Probably the best. "Just relax. Put all the thoughts about our plan away." Sonja said softly. Seth sighed. "We need this plan to work." "And it will. It just needs time." Sonja promised. "Where did you send them?" Seth asked. "I sent them to an underground cave system here in this world. No way in, so no way out." Sonja said with a smirk. "How far down?" "Far down so that they can't get up. Even if they try, it's going to be a Labyrinth." Sonja said. Suddenly, a small bat came in, and landed on a rock. "Is that?" Seth asked. "Our vampire." Sonja said. They looked at each other. "He can phase again." Seth said, standing up. "Transform." Sonja said to the bat. The bat didn't. It just sat there. "It's not listening." Seth said. Anger began to rise in him. Suddenly, the bat flew over to Seth, and smoke blinded Seth. "Master Seth!" Sonja yelped. Seth was pinned down by someone, and when he looked at who it was, he was baffled. "Maybe next time, you should've made sure I didn't take my friend back with the memories of where you are." Meme said. Sonja shot a black orb at him, but a green shield protected him from the blast. Another bat came in, and pinned Sonja down after transforming. "How? You're the only vampire!" Sonja exclaimed. "I don't know. Think about it." Meme said, grabbing Seth off the ground. Seth thought about it. "The vampire took control, did he?" Seth asked Nadwe. Nadwe stared hard at him. "You're telling me, that you bit your friend. And now he's a vampire?" Seth asked happily. "Half-vampire. I'm still half-human." Meme said. "Still. That's quite the improvement." Seth smiled. Nadwe wanted to suck all the blood from Seth. He felt rage fill him. "Nadwe, chill." Meme said. Nadwe took a deep breath, and let the rage disappear. Natalie, Laff, and Zack entered. "So, have you finished playing Among Us?" Laff asked. "It was definitely fun being an imposter, but alas, time is up apparently." Seth said. Sonja was picked up by Zack. Sonja gave Zack a glare, but something in her sparked. Something about Zack made her feel light and tipsy. "You can stop with the glare." Zack said. "Why?" she asked. "Because you'll hurt your pretty blue eyes." Zack said with a smirk. "Oh, is that so?" Sonja whispered. "When you two stop flirting, we'll move on." Natalie said. Both of them got red in the face, and pretended that they never had that conversation. "Now listen to me Seth. I want to know what the hell you did with my parents." Natalie asked, her voice dangerous. "Do you want the truth, or a better answer?" Seth asked. Natalie smacked him as hard as she could, and left a red mark on his face. "Give me the damn truth!" Natalie yelled. "Alrighty. I killed them. Quick stab in the back. Never felt a thing." Seth said. Natalie felt her soul crack. She always wanted to believe that they were alive, but there was the truth. "You're going to pay for your crimes in front of the leader of the Tueres." She whispered. Seth's smile faded. "You wouldn't." he said. "Oh you bet." Natalie said. She punched him hard in the head, and knocked him out. "Put a restraint on her Zack" Natalie said. Zack nodded, and put a metal band on Sonja's neck. "Prohibit my power?" Sonja asked. "Don't want you to escape." Zack said. "Why not?" Sonja asked. "Because you work with the dude that killed my parents." Zack said. Sonja stared at him. "What?" she asked. "Yeah, he killed them." Zack said. "I...I didn't know that." she stuttered. Zack stared at her. "Really? Cause I would suspect he would talk about it, cause he killed two of the most powerfulest Tueres in the world." Zack said. She shook her head. "Master Seth never told me anything about his past. He is a private man." Sonja said. Natalie, Meme, Laff and Nadwe took Seth away. Zack stayed with Sonja. "Why do you follow that asshole?" Zack asked. "I lost my family at a young age. He found me and took care of me. I learned magic. He taught me the ways of Chaos, and soon took me as an apprentice. He said that once I received the mark of Chaos, I would be truly connected to him. But now...Is it bad having second thoughts?" Sonja asked. "Listen. He took me away from my life, used me as a puppet, took away everything I loved. He hurt my friends. I can't let him do that." Zack said. Sonja looked at him. "I wonder if Chaos took my family." Sonja said. Zack looked at her, and Sonja looked at him. Both of them felt a strange feeling, but weren't sure what it was. "Let me help you." Zack said. "With what?" Sonja asked. "Let me help you find the truth." Zack said. Sonja smiled. "I think that would be nice." And then, Sonja moved forward, and gave Zack a kiss. Zack was stunned at first, but then he kissed her back, and it felt nice. They held each other tight. They both lost family at a young age, and had been haunted by Chaos. They both understood each other. They pulled apart, and both felt a bit awkward, but they were happy. "You know, your sister won't be exactly happy when she hears this." Sonja said. "Then let's keep it between us. But I have to put you with Seth. Just...try not to do anything that will bring Chaos to us." Zack said. "I can do that. He doesn't care if I don't join him or not. He thinks that I do it by myself when he's asleep." Sonja said. "Come on, let's go." Zack said. He led her back to the castle. When they got there, Natalie was putting Seth in prison. "Let's separate them so they don't get any ideas." Zack said. "Good idea." Natalie said. They moved Sonja and Seth apart. Natalie felt her heart get heavy. "Natalie, can I talk to you?" Sonja asked. They were well away from Seth, so she wanted to talk to Natalie. Natalie looked around, seeing that no one else was there, and entered the cell. "What do you want?" Natalie asked. "Please, let me explain. Seth never told me anything. If I had known about what he had done, I would've changed my mind. Please, forgive me." Sonja said. Natalie wasn't sure. "Please. Let me redeem myself." Sonja said. Natalie sighed. "I..." Natalie started, but lost the words. "Take your time. Just please, let me fix my mistakes." Sonja said. Natalie left, and went to her room. She lay on the bed, thinking about what happened. Suddenly, Meme fell through the window, losing control over flying. Nadwe came through the window also, following Meme. "What the heck?" Natalie said. Meme hit the wall and fell down. "Ow." Meme groaned. "You good Meme?" Nadwe asked. "I guess?" Meme said, shaking his head. "What just happened?" Natalie asked. Meme and Nadwe turned and saw her. "Oh, sorry Natalie." Meme said. "Wind draft caught him by surprise, and he lost focus." Nadwe said. "Apparently." Natalie chuckled. Meme and Nadwe transformed back to human. "I think I am going to be sore for days." Meme said, and Nadwe laughed. "Yeah probably." Natalie smiled. She had missed Nadwe so much. "Anyway, how is being a vampire going?" Natalie said. "Um, honestly, pretty good. I...um...I may have sucked some blood out of a cow, so that was fun." Meme said. Natalie laughed. "I mean, I'm getting better at flying, but I still have the feeling of running away from the sun." Meme said. "I have that feeling all the time." Nadwe said, transforming into a bat. "Come on. Let's get back out." Nadwe said. "Yeah we should." Meme said. Suddenly, Meme held his hand to his head. "Meme?" Nadwe asked. "I just got a sudden headache, that's all." Meme said. Natalie got up, and helped Meme to her bed. "Sit down and rest." Natalie said. Meme did, and Nadwe came down and sat on Meme's shoulder. "Meme, are you okay?" Nadwe asked, his voice filled with worry. "Yeah, it's just a headache. Probably hit my head too hard." Meme said. Nadwe still was worried. Natalie didn't see any physical damage. "I think I just need to rest." Meme said. "Yeah. Best idea." Natalie said. "Nadwe flew off his shoulder, and Meme stood up. Meme transformed into a bat, and both him and Nadwe flew out the window. Natalie sighed. Everything had to fall apart. Suddenly, Nadwe came back. "Meme fell! He stopped flying, and started to fall, I couldn't grab him!" Nadwe said. Natalie felt her heart stop. "Oh no. Go find where Meme is, I'll follow you after." Natalie said. Nadwe nodded, and zoomed back down. Natalie ran out of her room and to the cells. She went to the one where Sonja is. "Hey." Natalie said. Sonja looked up. "Want to redeem yourself?" Natalie asked. She nodded. "Great. I need help. Meme fell and we don't know what happened." Natalie said. "Do you know where he is?" Sonja asked standing up. "No, but Nadwe is trying to find him." Natalie said. Zack came down, and saw Sonja. His face lit up, but he had to hide it from Natalie. "Come on, we need to get to Nadwe." Natalie said. The three of them left the castle, and went to the area where Nadwe would probably be. "Nadwe!" Natalie called out. "They're over there. A few miles to the east." Sonja said. They stared at her. "I...um...okay, I have some natural abilities. I can sense where things are." Sonja said. "Huh, well, I'll trust you, if you trust us." Zack said, and removed the band. "Fair enough." Sonja said. They stared at each other for a moment, then Natalie said. "Wait. One. Second." Zack felt his face go hot, and Sonja felt her heart beat faster. "Zack, are you..." Natalie asked. "I'll explain later." Zack said quickly. Natalie said no more, and they went to find Nadwe. "Nadwe! Meme!" Sonja called out. They walked a few more yards, and then found two bats on the ground. "Guys!" Nadwe said, flying to them. Natalie hugged Nadwe, sighing with relief. "We were worried." Zack said. "Yeah, Meme's right there. He's...gone quiet." Nadwe said. Natalie put Nadwe on her shoulder, and picked Meme up. He was breathing heavily, his eyes closed. "Meme." Natalie said. Meme opened his eyes. "Are you okay?" Nadwe asked. "Um..." Meme started to say, but stopped. "Can you change back?" Natalie asked. Meme nodded, and flew a few inches into the air, and smoke appeared around him, and he changed back. His knees buckled, and he fell to the ground. Sonja went over to him. Nadwe felt anger rise in him. "Why is she here?" Nadwe whispered in Natalie's ear. "She wants to make up for what she's done, and apparently, she had a crush on Zack, and Zack has a crush on her." Natalie said. "Natalie!" Zack hissed. Natalie shrugged. "What? You do a terrible job of hiding it." Zack's face got even more red. Sonja was muttering something under her breath. "Seth." Sonja said. "What?" Nadwe asked. "Seth managed to make Meme more vampire, but only temporarily. But something tells me he'll stop at nothing till he succeeds." Sonja explained. "Then what's happening?" Zack asked. "Meme's body and mind aren't used to being more vampire, so it begins to try and stop it, but that leads to headaches, and loss of consciousness, and slow processing." Sonja said. She muttered something else under her breath, and Meme seemed to relax. "I am simply placing a spell of calmness and relaxation. If you want, I can place one that numbs pain." Sonja said. "Sure." Natalie said. Sonja muttered something more, and stopped. "Meme will not be able to do much for a while, so he must rest. Meme, if you can hear me, give me a sign that you can." Meme nodded, and Sonja sighed with relief. "Good. He can hear us." Nadwe flew over to Meme. Meme sat up, and let Nadwe sit on his knee. "Sorry I gave you a fright Nadwe." Meme rasped. "I'm glad you're okay." Nadwe said. Meme chuckled, then started to cough. "Take it easy." Sonja said. Meme managed to stop coughing, but he looked worn out. "Do you need blood?" Zack asked. "Um, maybe?" Meme said. His mind felt like having some, but he realized that was a weird thought to have. Natalie opened the first-aid kit she had, and grabbed an IV. She tossed it to Meme, who bit into it. Meme felt relief fill him. It was definitely nice to have it. He sucked the whole thing dry. "Better?" Nadwe asked. "Yeah, much." Meme sighed. "We should bring you up to the castle, where you can rest." Sonja said. Meme nodded. Zack helped Meme to his feet, and they walked to the bridge. They went back to the castle, and brought Meme to his room. Meme sighed when flopped onto his bed. "Get some rest." Natalie said. Meme nodded. Nadwe stayed on Meme's wardrobe. "Just to be safe. I don't want something bad to happen." Nadwe said. So they left Meme and Nadwe. "Okay, you two." Natalie said when they left Meme's room and went away. Both became red in the face again. "Um, heh, what?" Zack asked nervously. "God, was it always hot in here?" Sonja muttered to herself. "What, do you guys like each other?" Natalie asked. Zack and Sonja got quiet. "Oh my God." Natalie said, her eyes widening. "Oh shit." Sonja whispered. "This is the most awkward conversation ever." Zack said. Natalie sighed. "Just don't kiss in front of me, fair enough?" Natalie said. They stared at her. Natalie smirked and left them. "Not...what I was expecting." Zack said. "Me nether." Sonja said, and laughed. Zack laughed too. They quickly kissed, and Zack brought her to an empty room. "You should stay here now. Not down in the cells." Zack said. The room was small, but big enough for her. "Thanks." Sonja said. "I think I could find some old clothes somewhere." Zack said, opening the wardrobe there. Some old clothes hung in there. He pulled out a white shirt, and some black jeans. "These should work." Zack said. He gave them to her, and left for her to change. When he came back, he felt his heart get light when he saw her. "Were you always so pretty?" he asked. She laughed. He pulled her close, and she stayed with him. "I can't thank you enough for helping Meme." Zack said. "It's the best I can do. I did make Nadwe do it. Well, sorta." Sonja said. "Tell me. We need to help Nadwe handle this new ability." Zack said. "Well...we used Chaos magic to wake him." Sonja said. Zack felt shivers go down his spine. "Seth made me do it. He got Nadwe's body, but made me do it. I didn't want to, but I knew if I disobeyed, I would be severely punished. I brought him back. At first, he was dazed and confused, but when everything came back to him, he tried to escape, but Seth stopped him, and made a vampire bite him again. He almost got the full curse, but I stopped him, saying time was up, and he believed me. Seth thinks that it was just because he had a strong friendship with Meme. Nadwe fell to our words, and obeyed every command. We sent him to set up different traps in the worlds to slow you down, but you caught on really quick. We pretended to be your parents so you wouldn't suspect us, but we were wrong." Sonja had tears falling down her face. "Hey, look at me." Zack said softly. Sonja did, and he gave her a light kiss. "Listen, it's in the past now. Everything is going to be fine." Zack said. Sonja smiled. She kissed him back, and they just stayed together for the rest of the night. Sonja finally had something she wanted for her whole life. A family.
