Chapter 4
GUYS I AM SO SRY I DIDN'T POST FOR LIKE A WEEK SO IMA TRY TO PUT IN THREE CHAPS FOR YA. Also this is a VERY long chapter...with a twist :)
They hid in some bushes, looking at the castle. "I don't see anything." Meme murmured. "Wait, there they are." Socks said. They looked and saw a man and woman walking together. They seemed to be talking softly, so they couldn't hear what they were saying. As they got closer, they saw the man mumbling something, and black portal things appeared in front of both of them. They walked through them, and they came out on the other side, but something had changed. In front of them was a young man, about 30, and he had jet black hair, dark eyes, and pale skin. He was the older man that said he was Natalie's father. The woman was now about Zack's age, with long blonde hair, and olive skin. "Well, I think we've gained their trust now." the man said. The girl nodded. "Soon enough Sonja, you'll be able to get your tattoo. Then you'll truly be one of us." He rolled his sleeve on his right arm, and showed his wrist to her. Socks and Laff felt their blood freeze when they saw it. It was the same symbol as the one they got when Chaos went into them. It was a worshiper of Chaos. "If you manage to help with this, I'll talk to our leader and see if you can join. But overall, you've proven yourself worthy. Chaos would be very proud of you." he said. The girl didn't show it, but she was wanting to burst with pride. "But Master Seth, what is your plan?" she asked. She had a bit of a Russian accent. "We need to remove this blasted Tueres girl. We already killed her parents, and I thought that Chaos would get away with it. But she recruited the help of the people below, and they managed to stop him. Not once, but twice! We need to get revenge. We've already sent our little friend in tonight to get one of them, but something tells me it won't be enough, even with only three of them down already." "So they are the ones behind it." Laff whispered. Socks and Meme nodded. They needed to stop these two before it was too late. Socks got ready, aimed carefully, and shot a light beam at the two of them. It hit both of them by surprise, and they both went flying back. The three of them came out of the bushes, and started over to the two unknown strangers. The girl immediately muttered something, and a purple light surrounded them both. The three stopped, unsure on what to do next. "My oh my oh my! I wasn't expecting this!" the man said. "Well, what is the meaning of this?" Meme said. "You shouldn't be here. Our friend should've done more." the girl said. "Well, he didn't do it right. Now we saw the mark. We know you work for Chaos!" Meme spat. "Take it easy. Why not introduce ourselves?" the man said. "Well, you seem to know us already, so introduce yourself." Laff said. "Very well. I am Seth, and this is my apprentice, Sonja." Seth said. "Okay, so explain why you're here?" Socks said, a light beam in his hand. "Oh, we're here because you killed our leader, Chaos! We want our revenge!" Seth yelled. "You think we had much choice? He attacked us first!" Socks said. Seth didn't say anything after that. "And you hurt our friends? Did you also steal Nadwe?" Meme asked. "I don't know what you think." Seth said. Meme had finally had enough of it. He shot a water beam at them, but it rebounded off the purple shield. The shield fell, and Seth shot a dark beam at them. They all lept out of the way, and started to fight. At first, they were doing a lot better than the two, but then they realized that they were slowly winning, and were going to give them no mercy. Seth kneed Socks in the face, knocking him to the ground. "You honestly think that you can defeat us? Well, you thought wrong." Seth whispered. He pulled out a sword, and delivered his death blow. Socks braced for the pain, but no pain came. He opened his eyes, and saw that he was hovering in the air, wind gusts flowing around. "Muffin!" he exclaimed. The others were there, ready to fight against these imposters. Seth and Sonja backed up, unsure of what to do. Muffin set Socks down, and Laff and Meme came over to them. "Just look. You're outnumbered." Meme said. Seth and Sonja looked at each other. "You may have more people, but you know what? I think we know what will stop you." Sonja said. She whistled so high, that they had to cover their ears. "What the hell lady?" Meme asked. Something flew through the air. It flew over to Seth and Sonja. Suddenly, smoke appeared, and something emerged from the smoke. Meme felt paralyzed. He dropped his sword, everything in him shutting down. "Nadwe?" he whispered. Nadwe stood in front of him, glaring at him. He was alive. But something was wrong. His eyes weren't blue anymore, they were blood red. He looked at them in hatred. "Oh yes. He's alive, but with us." Seth laughed. Meme breath was shaky. This had to be because of his blood loss. But then he realized something. That was why he had blood loss. Nadwe sucked blood out of him, he left behind that piece of black fabric. "Nadwe." Meme whispered. What did they do to him? Everyone was shocked. Nadwe was supposed to be dead. Yet he was alive. "Nadwe, my friend, had died, yes. But we brought him back to life, but unlocked the vampire in him that he hid away for so long." Sonja said. "Take care of them for us, Nadwe." Seth said in Nadwe's ear. Nadwe hissed, and leapt at the group, attacking Meme. Laff stopped him with a green shield, but Nadwe's hands lit with purple fire. Meme picked not his sword, but his shield. He wasn't going to hurt Nadwe. He blocked Nadwe's hits, but could tell that his shield wasn't going to last longer. "Nadwe, snap the fuck out of it!" Meme yelled. Nadwe didn't stop, attacking faster and faster, until he finally hit Meme. Meme felt a wave of pain go through him. He fell to the ground, his world spinning. "Nadwe can now suck energy out of you! He is a true vampire now!" Seth laughed. Meme felt anger rush through him. He got up, and went not after Nadwe, but Seth and Sonja. "You messed with the wrong person, bitch!" he screamed. Seth and Sonja got out their swords, and the three of them began to fight. Nadwe began to fight the others, everyone not wanting to hurt Nadwe. Meme fought with every living fiber in him. He wouldn't lose Nadwe again, he already lost him. Seth and Sonja were getting tired, their bodies getting weak. "Sonja, send them away!" Seth yelled. Sonja ran away from the battle, and began to chant. Meme saw this, and went to stop her, but Seth pinned him down. "Let me go!" Meme yelled. A strange black portal appeared behind them. Suddenly, Woolfster was sucked in, then Dino, and all the others. Meme felt something pull him, and he dug his sword into the island. He was holding on for dear life. Seth laughed, letting go of Meme, and walking away without being dragged. "Give up. We have your friend." Seth said seriously. Meme looked at Nadwe, who was near the portal. "Oh really?" Meme growled. He let go of the sword, the portal dragging him. He shot a water rope at Nadwe, and pulled him to him. Nadwe hissed in surprise, and Meme held him close, not letting him go, and he disappeared in the portal.
...
They landed on hard ground, Nadwe trying to break free of Meme's hold. Meme held him tight, and then Nadwe bit his arm. "GAH!" Meme yelled, but still didn't let him go, and Nadwe sucked his blood. Meme felt his vision fade, but he still didn't let go. Suddenly, someone ripped them apart, and someone else grabbed him to make sure he didn't fall. "Breath Meme. Nadwe's fine." they said. Meme felt the tears fall down his face. "It's fine Meme. He's fine." they whispered, trying to soothe him. Meme felt so tired, and his knees buckled. The person laid them gently on the ground. "Hold on Meme. Just stay with us." they said. Meme nodded. He felt so tired, then something poked him in the arm. He wasn't sure what it was, but whatever it was, he was thankful. It brought relief to him, and he slowly opened his eyes. Socks and TBH were looking over him, seeing if he was okay. "Oh thank God." TBH sighed. "Easy, you lost a lot of blood." Socks said, wrapping the bite wound on Meme's arm up. "Where's Nadwe?" Meme asked. Socks and TBH looked at each other. "He's...still crazy." Socks said. Meme sat up, ignored the pain, and looked around. He found Nadwe, who was wrapped and gagged in thick vines, probably from Dino. He was looking around, unable to find a way out. "He's kinda dazed." TBH said. "He's alive." Meme whispered. "Yeah, he is." Socks said. Meme sighed. "But he's not the Nadwe I know." "Meme, I promise we'll get him back. I promise." Socks said. TBH nodded in agreement. "What the hell did they do to him?" Meme asked. "Just rest Meme. Just rest." TBH whispered. Meme felt more tears fall. "Give him a sedative." Socks whispered to TBH. TBH nodded, grabbing a syringe from the first aid kit he brought. He gave it to Meme, who soon, was fast asleep. All the others were looking at Nadwe, who had now tried to bite the vine away, but found he could not. He glared at them in hatred. "Does he remember anything?" Muffin asked. "I don't think so. If he did, he probably would have not attacked us." Woolfster said. "Maybe we should also keep in mind about where we are now?" Blaza said. They looked around them, at the desolate, empty world they were in. "They must've sent us to a world where everything is dead." Laff said. "But then why is there a roof?" Socks said, looking up. The others looked up and saw nothing but darkness. They looked at him confused. "Oh, I can see things a lot better, so things that are pitch dark for you, I can see as pale gray and can make out some things." Socks explained. "So we're in a cavern?" oompa asked. "That is what I believe." Socks said, shrugging his shoulders. "How's Meme?" Jooice asked. "Gave him a sedative. He's...trying to handle it as best as he can, but...it's not everyday your dead friend comes back to life and wants to kill you." TBH said, looking at Nadwe, who softly hissed. "We need to get Nadwe back." TBH said. "How? If we let the vines go, he's after our blood. And I think he doesn't remember how to talk, cause all he's doing is hissing." TBVG said. Nadwe hissed louder. "Well, he can only jerk us from our sleep, not kill us, so let's get some sleep." Socks said with a yawn. They all agreed, but Dino wrapped Nadwe around a rock. Nadwe hissed at him. "Yeah, yeah. Hiss the crap out of yourself." Dino sighed. They all fell asleep. A few hours later, Meme woke up. He got up, the IV drained. He felt much better, but his spirit was heavy. He looked and saw Nadwe tied to the rock, looking quite bored. Meme could see his blood red eyes shining in the dark. Meme had to try. The others were a few feet away, sleeping. Meme quietly got up, and went over to Nadwe. Nadwe turned as saw him, and hissed. "I'm not going to do anything." Meme whispered. Nadwe stared hard at him. Meme went over slowly to him, and sat down next to him. Nadwe looked at him, confused as to why he was not doing anything. Meme felt Nadwe staring at him. "Don't you remember anything?" Meme asked. Nadwe was now baffled. What was he talking about? "Don't you remember what life was like before you died?" Meme said, his voice breaking. Nadwe was stunned. He had died before? He was a vampire, he could only die in the sun! "You could phase through the sun, let it pass through you." Meme said. He turned to Nadwe, who looked at him, not with hatred, but curiosity. Meme reached to him, and Nadwe backed away a bit. "I'm just removing the vines." Meme said slowly. He removed the vine on Nadwe's mouth. Nadwe felt much better when it was gone. "Can you speak?" Meme asked. Nadwe shook his head. Meme closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "Nadwe...please remember," he whispered. Tears fell from his face, and he turned away. Nadwe felt the sorrow and grief from Meme, and wanted it to stop. He closed his eyes and tried to remember what he said, who he was before. He couldn't remember. He opened his eyes, and turned and saw Meme had pulled out a picture. "You said that you would say hi to Wictoria for me." Meme chuckled. Nadwe turned away, desperate for answers. He didn't understand, he needed to understand. He closed his eyes, thinking of the picture, when he said that, he needed to find answers. Suddenly, something flashed in his head, and pain filled his heart, and he heard himself saying that he would say hi to Wictoria, and felt life fade from him. His eyes shot open, the pain in his heart fading, but the memory brought more memories, all of them so fast, so confusing, but the most important ones stood out to him. He was Nadwe. He was a vampire. He loved a software called Monika, he was friends with Socks and Meme and Laff and everyone else. He remembered everything. Meme turned, seeing Nadwe's wide eyes. "Nadwe?" he asked. Nadwe turned and looked at him. "Meme?" he whispered. Meme felt his heart begin to race. "Nadwe? You remember?" Meme asked. "...yeah. I remember." Nadwe said. Meme felt his heart racing. "Hold on." Meme said. He got up and began to rip the vines away. When they were all gone, and Nadwe was free, he grabbed him in a hug. "Oh my God." Meme whispered, tears falling down his face. Nadwe held Meme tightly, not wanting to let go. "It's fine Nadwe. It's going to be okay." Meme whispered. "I'm scared." Nadwe whispered. "It's fine, they're not going to hurt you anymore." Meme said. Nadwe let his tears fall, fear and relief filling him. "I thought I lost everything, I was a mess when you died." Meme said. "Meme...I don't remember what happened between my death and my revival." Nadwe said. "I don't care. I'm just glad you're back." Meme said, and looked at Nadwe, a smile on his face. Nadwe also smiled, but it quickly turned into a frown. "What?" Meme asked. "Meme...I need to tell you something." Nadwe said, his voice shaky. "What?" Meme asked. Nadwe took a deep breath. "When I became a vampire, ever since then, I felt something just...wanting to explode. After a while, I realized that the vampire in me wanted to be fully vampire...and hurt you guys. I managed to stop it in time, but when they revived me, they sorta awakened it. I...I can't control the powers I have now, I don't know what to do." Nadwe got quiet. "Hey, look at me." Meme said softly. Nadwe did, his blood red eyes shining in the dark. "We'll figure this out. I promise. We'll find a way to stop it, or maybe control it better. But we'll get out of this. I promise." Meme said. Nadwe nodded. "Come on, let's get some sleep." Meme said. Nadwe snuggled close to Meme, trying to put everything together in his mind, but very soon fell asleep. Meme chuckled. Nadwe was back. Everything was fine. Meme felt his eyes flutter, and let sleep take over him.
...
Meme heard someone talking. What was happening? He opened his eyes, and saw Laff and Socks talking, and Laff was holding a green orb. Inside the orb, was Nadwe in bat form. Meme felt energy pulse through him, and he got up. Socks heard this, and turned to where Meme was, and Laff looked too. "Let...him...go." Meme said slowly. Nadwe was panicking, his eyes darting around. "Meme, he managed to escape the vines, and tried to fly away." Laff said. "No. I removed the vines, I got rid of them, because he remembers everything, Nadwe is back!" Meme said. Socks and Laff looked at each other, then looked at Nadwe. Nadwe quivered inside, fear filling him. "Please. Let him go." Meme begged. Laff couldn't stand seeing his friend suffer. "If he starts to attack us, he goes back in the orb." Laff said, and he removed the top of the orb. Nadwe looked around, making sure that everything was safe, and flew into the air. He circled around a few times, then went to Meme, and went inside his hoodie. "It's okay Nadwe. They didn't know." Meme said, and pulled Nadwe out. Nadwe was still shaking, unsure whether he was safe or not. Socks and Laff looked at Nadwe. Was this the Nadwe they knew? "Change back." Meme said. Nadwe flew into the air slightly, and smoke surrounded him, and when the smoke disappeared, he was back to himself. He hid behind Meme, fear still in him. "It's fine Nadwe." Meme promised. Socks gave Nadwe a comforting smile, and Nadwe smiled back slightly. "Hey...hey guys." Nadwe said. Laff and Socks felt joy fill them. "Nadwe, get over here." Socks said. Nadwe chuckled, coming out from behind Meme. Socks went over to him, and grabbed him in a big hug. "We've missed you a lot, Nadwe." Laff said. "Yeah. I'm definitely glad to be back." Nadwe said, smiling. Memes sighed with relief. Suddenly, Nadwe put his hands to his temples, his face twisted in pain. "Nadwe, what's wrong?" Meme asked, fear filling his chest. "The vampire." Nadwe whispered. "What's he talking about?" Socks asked. "Hey, breathe. It's fine." Meme whispered softly. Nadwe took deep breaths, and slowly, he let go of his head, his face now filled with calmness. "I hate that. And I can't do anything." Nadwe sighed. "I promise we'll figure it out." Meme said. Nadwe nodded. Meme then explained what was happening to Laff and Socks. "Man, that's tough." Socks said. Nadwe had started to toss a rock between his hands, just to distract him. "Yeah, I never liked it." Nadwe said. "But what can you do now?" Laff asked. Nadwe stopped tossing the rock. He sighed. "Well, I know that I can suck energy out of anyone now, but if there is anything else that I can do, I don't know it. They never told me anything, only that I could do a lot more stuff now." Nadwe said. "Wait...what about your phasing?" Meme asked. "I'm not sure." Nadwe said. "Let's worry about that later." Socks quickly said. "We are in a dark cavern, so it's not as important right now. But when we find a way out of here, we'll make it our top priority, fair enough?" They all agreed. "Anyone know what time it is?" Laff asked. "It's probably about noon." Nadwe said. The three of them stared at Nadwe. "What?" Nadwe asked. "How do you know what time it is?" Meme asked. Nadwe was confused at first, then fear filled his face. "I think I found another thing that's new with me." Nadwe said. "What?" Socks asked. "I basically have a clock in my head that tells me what time it is. So that way I can stay safe from the sun." Nadwe explained. The others were stunned by this. A built in clock to stay safe from death. Nadwe put his head in his knees, wanting to get away from reality. Meme moved closer to him, giving him a sense of safety. "Maybe we should wake the others up now." Laff said. Socks nodded. Meme stayed with Nadwe, whispering softly to him that everything was going to be fine. "Dude, why are you waking us up?" TBH groaned. "Nadwe's back." Socks said. TBH shot awake. "Wait, what?" he asked. "Yeah, Nadwe's back." Socks said. TBH got up and looked around. He saw Nadwe and Meme sitting together, and Nadwe saw TBH, and he smiled. TBH felt his heart race, and he went over to Nadwe. "Hey." TBH said, tears forming in his eyes. "Hey." Nadwe said. TBH sat on the other side of him, and hugged him tightly. Nadwe felt his worry slip away. He was safe. TBH pulled away, and wiped the tears from his eyes. "Oh God, I am way more emotional than I thought." he chuckled. Nadwe laughed. "It's fine. Besides...it's been a while since I last saw you guys." Nadwe said. TBH smiled. Everyone else had roused awake. Everyone started over to Nadwe, who felt his heart fill up with joy. Everyone was happy. Nadwe was back, their friend who they thought was gone for good. He was back, and the group was full again. "We've missed you." Woolfster said, hugging him from behind. "Yeah. Definitely nice to be back." Nadwe said. But deep inside, he felt separated from his friends. They've never experienced death. They've never experienced revival from the dead. Deep inside...he still felt dead. He ignored this feeling, and focused on what was happening now, in front of his eyes, where all his friends were. "Well, maybe we should get out of here." Jooice said. "Yeah, but how?" Muffin asked. Nadwe transformed into a bat, and flew up to the roof of the cavern. He looked around, and saw a bunch of stalactites. He worried that they would fall, when he heard a crack behind him. He swiveled around and saw a dozen stalactites cracking. He felt panic fill him, and his heart seized up. He felt it, and began to lose consciousness. He fell from the roof, and Meme saw him fall. He ran over and caught him. They heard a crack and looked up, and saw stalactites fall from the ceiling. Blaza stepped forward, hand raised and his eyes glowing a tanish color. The stalactites stopped midair, inches from landing on them. "Damn, that was close." Dino said. Blaza moved the stalactites away, and when he put them down, he stumbled. Oof held him steady, unsure whether he was okay or not. "I'm fine, just the first time trying to stop something from falling." Blaza said. Meme was busy with Nadwe, who had woken up. "Are you okay?" Meme asked. "Yeah. I never really recovered from being stabbed two times. My heart seizes up sometimes, and I fall unconscious. It's pretty bad." Nadwe said. "Can you change back?" Meme asked. "Yeah, um. When my heart does that...I can't change back for a while for some reason. I'm stuck as a bat for a while." Nadwe said, looking down. Meme sighed. "It's fine. We'll figure it out when we get the hell out of here." He put Nadwe in his hoodie, and went back to the group. "Everyone okay?" he asked. "Yeah, just shocked. Is Nadwe okay?" TBVG asked. "Um, yeah, but he's stuck as a bat for some reason. And it might be a while until he can change back." Meme said. "Okay, well he better get going. We only have so much food and water that we can only stay down here so long." TBVG said. Nadwe didn't need any food, only blood. "Glad we brought IV's down." TBH said. "We probably have enough food to last us a week if we ration it." Meme said. So they started on their journey, looking for a way out. Nadwe sat in Meme hood, which was very comfortable, but he often flew over to someone else, just to hang out with them. They looked everywhere for a way to escape, but they couldn't find one. Nadwe flew a distance away, and found a small hole leading down. He flew back to the group, and told them what he saw. "I can go down and check." Nadwe said. "Is it fine if Muffin goes with you?" Meme asked. "Yeah, fair enough." Nadwe said. Both him and Muffin went down the hole. At first, everything was dark, then a soft glow started to appear. When they exited the hole, they found themselves in a lush cave. "Oh wow." Nadwe whispered. Muffin went back up to get the others, and Nadwe flew around, looking at the soft area around him. He landed in a little pool of water, the coolness making him relax. Suddenly, an axolotl popped out of the water, startling Nadwe. "Oh, sorry man!" Nadwe said. The axolotl squeaked, but wasn't angry at him. Nadwe went out of the pool, and landed on a small patch of grass. The others had come down, and were amazed by this. "I don't think we even left our world." oompa said. They all went to a small area where it was clear, and Nadwe flew down. "Why are you all wet?" Meme asked. "There's a pool of water over there, but I think an axolotl lives there." Nadwe said. Socks went over to the pool, and found the pink axolotl. He noticed that it was having trouble swimming, so he picked it up out of the water. "Guys, this axolotl's hurt," he said. He brought it over to the group, and showed the cut on the axolotls side. "Poor thing." Muffin said. Meme grabbed some bandages, and wrapped them around the axolotl. "These are waterproof. They won't fall off of him until the wound is healed." Meme said. Laff brought out a bucket of water, and they put the axolotl in it. The axolotl squeaked with happiness. "Cute little thing." TBH said. TBVG grabbed a bunch of glow berries, and started to snack on them. "We have more food, so I think that we are all good." Meme said. They decided to stay for the night, as Nadwe said the sun had just set. "Can you change back yet?" Meme asked. Nadwe flew in the air for a few seconds, then shook his head. "Nope, not yet," he said. He landed in some grass nearby Meme, and fell asleep. The others all decided to sleep, but only one person remained awake. Laff couldn't fall asleep. He had gone for a walk, trying to clear his head. It had been a long time since he had last seen L4FF, thanks to Tommy. But he was worried that he may come back. He sat near another pool of water, thinking about everything that had happened. Suddenly, a blue axolotl popped out, looking at Laff. "Hey little dude." Laff said. He pulled the axolotl out, and the axolotl snuggled next to him. He chuckled. He never really saw axolotl's on the surface, but seeing them here, even a blue one, was definitely cool. He put the axolotl back in the water, where it stayed on the surface, but fell asleep. He leaned against the stone wall, sighing. What he would give to have their normal lives back. He just sat there, lost in his own thoughts, when he felt his hands tingle. He looked down, and saw that his hands were metal. Fear and panic raced through him like a bullet. This must've been a hallucination, right? He blinked several times, but the metal didn't disappear. "I just want to talk." Laff froze. "What do you want to talk about? You plan to take over me?" "Your vampire friend is in trouble." Laff immediately knew it was a trap. "He's not in trouble." "Not right now, but little does he know, that the vampire in him is slowly taking over, and the next thing you know, he's sucking your blood in your sleep. You have to trust me." "Give me one good hell of a reason to trust you, because you definitely don't seem like the person to trust." L4FF got quiet. Laff thought he had disappeared, but then he said. "I don't. I just thought I might warn you." The metal disappeared from his hands, and L4FF faded. Laff wasn't sure what to feel. Confused, angry, what was he supposed to do? If L4FF was right, then he needed to act fast. But L4FF didn't seem like the person to trust, and he wasn't, but the fact that he had gone quiet at a question like that...that puzzled him. The axolotl squeaked, waking from it's nap. "Maybe you would like to see a buddy." Laff said, grabbing another bucket. He picked the axolotl up, and went back to the camp. Everyone was asleep, and he placed the blue axolotl next to the pink axolotl. They squeaked with happiness, happy to be with each other. Suddenly, something landed on his shoulder. "Where were you Laff?" Nadwe asked, his blood red eyes filled with fear. "I just went for a walk, and found this little dude. Looked lonely, so I brought him here." Laff said. Nadwe sighed with relief. He flew into the air, and suddenly smoke appeared around him, and he fell a few feet to the ground, landing with a thud. He had changed back to a human. "Ow." he groaned, rubbing side. "You good?" Laff asked. "Yeah, just sudden." Nadwe said, rubbing his leg. He sat up, looking around. "Everything seems bigger now." Nadwe said. "Yeah, that makes sense." Laff said, and sat next to him. They sat in silence for a few minutes, when Laff's hands began to tingle again. He looked down, and they were metal. He pulled his gloves out quickly, and put them on. Nadwe didn't notice, thankfully. "Hey Laff." Nadwe said. "Yeah?" Laff asked. "...I...I." and then Nadwe stopped talking. "Nadwe, what's wrong?" Laff asked. Nadwe took a shaky breath. "I feel...I feel like...I feel like I'm still dead." Laff felt a cold shiver go down his spine. "What do you mean?" Laff asked. "I...I can't shake the fact that I died, and I am the only one that experienced death. No one else, and...I feel separated because of it." Tears welled in his eyes. "Hey, it's going to be fine." Laff said, and held Nadwe close to him. Nadwe began to softly cry, letting his fears and worries and pain out. It felt nice letting it out. Laff comforted him as best as he could. But Nadwe was right. He never felt death, he didn't know what it was like to be revived and not remember anything. "Listen, I'm pretty sure that if that happened to one of us, we would feel the same way. But we're here for you. If you need to talk, let us know." Laff said. Nadwe nodded, then he gasped, pulling away from Laff. "What?" he asked, and looked at his arms. The metal had spread. His heart began to race. "No, no, no." he whispered. Nadwe was scared, unsure of what to do. "Nadwe...it's fine...I promise." Laff said. Nadwe could see that Laff was telling the truth, so he calmed himself down. "Are you going to be okay?" Nadwe asked. "I...don't know." Laff sighed. "Laff...why would you hide it?" Nadwe asked, pointing to his gloves. "I didn't want to scare you." Laff said, pulling the gloves off. The metal stayed. "Why is my life fucked up?" Laff whispered. "Aren't all of our lives are?" Nadwe said. Laff chuckled. "None of you guys deal with an evil cyborg haunting your mind." Nadwe knew that this wasn't Laff. He would never say something like that. The metal started to spread. "Come on Laff, let's sit somewhere else." Nadwe said. He helped Laff up, and they both went to an area where it was more private. "Dude, you need to chill." Nadwe said. The metal covered both arms now, and his legs. "I...I can't." Laff said, his voice filled with defeat. He didn't care now. It wouldn't matter. "Laff, please! If L4FF gets his hands on me, I'm dead! And I don't want to die again!" Nadwe begged. The metal covered all of him now, but L4FF didn't take control. Laff couldn't, he wouldn't. "Please. You have to fight against him." Nadwe whispered. Laff was taking deep breaths. He felt his world flip upside down in his head, everything spinning. "You have to let me talk to him." Laff heart rate increased at a dangerously high rate. "Laff...you need to chill. Your heart rate is WAY too high." Nadwe said. Laff couldn't think, he couldn't breathe. "Guys?" Nadwe turned and saw Meme. "Meme, his heart rate is off the charts, I don't think it's going to end well." Nadwe said. Meme ran over and made Laff sit down. "Laff, relax." Meme said. Suddenly, the metal vanished quite fast. His heart rate was still way too high. And Nadwe felt a hunger for blood. He pushed the feeling aside, hoping that Laff was okay. "Nadwe, Laff's in trouble." Nadwe yelped when he heard the voice. "What's wrong?" Meme asked, then he went pale as a ghost. "You heard him too." Nadwe whispered. Meme nodded. "You guys have to listen to me! Laff is in trouble! He doesn't want to come back, he wants to leave you guys and go out into another world where he can't hurt you! I'm not trying to hurt him, but he doesn't believe me!" L4FF yelled. Meme and Nadwe looked at each other. "Laff, snap out of it! You need to stay, we need you!" Meme said, shaking Laff. "Meme, Nadwe's going to go crazy." Meme turned and saw Nadwe holding his head, pain in his face. "Oh shit." Meme whispered. He needed help. He made a tiny thing of water, and sent it to Socks, which slapped him awake. Socks was irritated at first, but then when he saw the water, he knew something was wrong. He followed the water over to where they were, and felt shivers go down his spine. "I need you to talk to Laff, his heart rate is off the charts. I need to get Nadwe to chill." Meme said. Socks nodded and went over to Laff, and Meme started to talk softly to Nadwe. "It's fine. Just breathe." Meme said softly. Nadwe tried to ignore the feeling but it was too late. His eyes glowed blood red, and he leapt onto Meme. "Get Laff out of here!" Meme said, struggling against the sudden strength Nadwe had. Socks picked Laff up, and went back to the group to get help. Meme continued to fight against Nadwe. "Nadwe, stop it!" Meme said. Suddenly, Nadwe elbowed him in the chest, knocking the wind out of Meme, and lunged and bit his neck. Meme screamed in pain. He felt the blood getting sucked. He closed his eyes and kicked Nadwe in the chest, sending him flying back. He lay on the ground, blood dripping out of his neck. Nadwe had fallen unconscious, breathing slightly. Laff finally had come back, and he and the rest of the group came back. "Oh no." Socks said, running to Meme. He helped Meme sit up, not noticing the bite on his neck. "Are you okay?" Socks asked. Meme nodded. He stood up, and the world tipped to the side, and he stumbled against the wall. "Meme?" TBH asked worriedly. Woolfster looked carefully at Meme, and saw the bite. "Nadwe bit him, right on the neck." Woolfster said shakily. Everyone froze. Everyone knew if you were bitten on the neck by a vampire, you became one too. "No. Not possible." Meme rasped. The world began to spin, and he felt sick. He couldn't be a vampire, right? His blood felt like fire, and he felt thirsty. So thirsty. Laff suddenly crumpled to the ground, metal spreading around him. "Not good. Not good at all." Blaza said, hands on his head. He woke up, and stood up. "You have to let me help him." L4FF said. "Give us one good reason, and I mean a hell of a good one." Socks said. "I don't, okay? You're bit, you're a vampire. But people don't realize vampires need to transfer the curse for ten seconds, and Nadwe only did about five. Meme's only half-vampire." Everyone was stunned. If he was right, there was only a slight chance that Meme was not vulnerable in the sun. "Meme, can you hear me?" Socks asked. Meme nodded, sweat dripping down his face. Nadwe started to wake up. "We need to break this to him slowly." TBH said. Blaza and Jooice took Nadwe away from the area. Socks helped Meme sit down, and grabbed the first-aid kit Dino gave him. He cleaned the bite wound, but Meme winced in pain. Every bite area was always sensitive. Socks put a bandage on the wound. "Thanks." Meme whispered. Socks smiled a little. Meme opened his eyes, and his black eyes were mixed with a dark red. He felt dizzy still, and very thristy "I'm screwed, aren't I?" Meme said. "Um...Not sure, to be honest." Socks said. Meme looked down. "How you feeling?" Socks asked. "Really thirsty." Meme said. "Yeah, probably." Socks said. Meme chuckled. "I think I have fangs now." "You think?" Socks said. Meme reached into his mouth, and felt two sharp and long teeth. "Yeah. I have fangs." Meme sighed. Socks wished there was something to fix this, but there wasn't. "L4FF says you're only half-vampire. So maybe there is a chance that you're not vulnerable in the sun." Socks said. Meme looked curious. "How would we know?" Meme asked. Socks was silent for a second, and then a line of light appeared in his hand. Meme felt an instinct to run and hide, and he really wanted to. But he ignored it. "As soon as we know the answer, we can move on from there." Socks said. Meme nodded, and he took a deep breath and closed his hands. Socks took the light, and carefully touched the tip of it to Meme's skin. Nothing burned, so he wrapped the light around Meme's wrist slowly. When nothing happened, he sighed with relief. "All good." Meme opened his eyes, and saw the light bracelet on his wrist. "Oh thank God." Meme sighed. Socks took the light off of him and it disappeared. "Wait, can he turn into a bat?" Woolfster asked. Meme wasn't prepared for that, and he didn't want to be a bat. "I'm not doing that." Meme said, shaking his head. "Okay, just wondering." Woolfster said. "Wait, where's Nadwe?" Meme suddenly said. "Blaza and Jooice took him away, trying to break it to him slowly, but...you know how this may go." TBVG said. "And is that Laff or L4FF?" Meme asked. "L4FF." Socks said. Meme was confused. Why wasn't he attacking them? "I'll leave you guys, but...I'll be willing to talk if you need me." his knees buckled, and he almost fell to the ground if Dino didn't catch him. "Oh God." Laff groaned, the metal disappearing. "Easy man. You're good." Dino said. He held Laff steady, but Meme got up and went over to the area where Blaza and Jooice and Nadwe were. "Let him go." Socks said when Woolfster went to stop him. Woolfster hesitated, then came back. Meme turned the corner, and saw Blaza and Jooice talking to Nadwe, who was paler than ever. "Listen, it wasn't your fault." Blaza said. "What did I do?" Nadwe whispered, his voice shaking. "Nadwe." Meme said. They all turned and saw Meme. Nadwe's face filled with guilt and fear. "Nadwe...I don't care if you bit me." Meme said. Nadwe felt his heart race. "Nadwe, it wasn't your fault." Meme said, and he walked over to them. Nadwe transformed into a bat and flew into the air. Meme wasn't impressed. "How are you going to get up there?" Jooice asked. Meme sighed. "I don't know." Suddenly, smoke surrounded him, blinding him. "Meme!" Blaza and Jooice both yelped. When the smoke disappeared, Meme was gone, and a bat was on the ground. "Oh my God." Jooice said, looking at the bat. "Wait, what happened?" Meme asked, dazed from the smoke. Meme looked around, and felt fear spike in him when he saw how much bigger Blaza and Jooice were. "Oh. My. Fucking. God." he whispered, trembling. "It's fine, Meme." Blaza said. Meme looked at his hands, which were wings now, and then his bat instincts took over. He flew into the air, flying away. When he realized he was flying, he lost focus. "Can't fly, can't fly!" He yelled. He hit some stone, and fell to a small cliff high above them. "OH SHIT!" he yelled when he looked down. Everyone else had come over, and they saw Meme high above them. "So he can be a bat." Woolfster said. Nadwe was still flying, and had watched everything happen. It was his fault for putting Meme in this situation, so he was going to get him out. He flew over to where Meme was, and landed next to him. "Hey, take it easy." Nadwe said. Meme looked at him, and Nadwe saw fear in his black and red eyes. "Trust me. After a while, all this will become second nature." Nadwe said. "Yeah, just...okay yeah I am going to pass out." Meme said, the dizziness and sickness coming back. "Don't pass out, please." Nadwe said. Meme nodded, breathing very heavily. "Listen, it's easy to learn. Just find a steady beat when flying." Nadwe said. "I don't think I could do it." Meme said, looking down again. "Listen. It's best if we get over it now." Nadwe said. Meme got quiet, then nodded. "Okay." "Listen, just find a steady beat that fits you." Nadwe said. He went into the air a few inches, showing Meme how to do it. "Try it." Nadwe said. Meme was trembling, but he took a deep breath, and started to flap. At first, he wasn't going anywhere, but he soon got off the ground a few inches. "See? Not so bad." Nadwe said. "Yeah, it's...it's not bad." Meme said shaikly. He felt unsteady when he was flying. "Come on, let's get back down." Nadwe said. He helped Meme find an easy way to get down, and Socks caught Meme. "You good?" Socks asked. "Yeah, I guess." Meme said. Nadwe landed on Jooice's shoulder, who was next to Socks. "Thanks Nadwe." Meme said. "Eh, I could've left you up there." Nadwe said, a smirk on his face. "Hey!" Meme said, but they were all laughing. "Okay, now how do I change back?" Meme asked, flying out of Socks hands. "Just think about being human, and you'll change back. But make sure you're not too high in the air." Nadwe said. Meme thought about it, and smoke appeared around him, and he fell a few inches back as himself. Nadwe also changed back, heading over to Meme. Meme sat on the ground, relieved that he was no longer a bat. "That was definitely scary." Meme said, and Nadwe sat next to him. "Well, you know how I feel." Nadwe said. "But what's weird is that I'm not thirsty anymore." Meme said. "Maybe because you're only half-vampire, you don't need blood?" Nadwe guessed. "Maybe." Meme said. "Maybe we could also get the hell out of here!" Dino said. "Yeah we should." Nadwe said. "But how?" Laff asked. "It's a cavern, right?" Socks said. "Yeah, we've agreed to that." TBH said. Socks smiled. "I think I've got an idea."
