Chapter 31

Lilly:

I bite my lip nervously, tapping my foot as the makeup artist applies my makeup.

"Stay still," She smirks. I make a small assenting noise, taking a few deep breaths. I look over to the other side of the room where the BTS members sit. We will be performing in 10 minutes. I have never been more nervous in my life.

Why did I say yes? Why??

"It'll be okay," I peer to my right, trying not to move too much. The backup dancer who will be dancing with Yoongi smiles kindly at me.

"Mm," Is all I can say. She chuckles, but not in a cruel way. Like a senior would chuckle at a nervous rookie.

"First time performing in front of a crowd?" She asks.

"Yeah, I've never performed before," Her eyes go wide. I don't think she was expecting me to say yes.

"They're letting you perform even though you've never performed before?" She gasps in disbelief, "Wow, I guess being Yoongi's girlfriend really has its perks,"

I laugh weakly. I'm unsure whether that was a jab at me or if she is just being nice.

"She's a really good dancer though," One of the other backup dancers appears between us.

"How so?" The girl frowns, "We all learnt the same dance,"

Okay, maybe her comment was meant to be offensive.

"She learnt it on Monday," The girl rolls her eyes, "We've been practising for a month,"

The other girl nods her head in mock approval.

"Not bad," She smirks, "Better not mess up,"

I tense my jaw, deciding what to say. Should I be sarcastic? Passive aggressive? Nice?

I decide on passive-aggressive.

"You better not mess up too," I turn and stand as the makeup artist lets me go, "Doing worse than me would be embarrassing,"

The girl frowns, glaring up at me. I smirk with satisfaction.

You might be dancing with my boyfriend, but that doesn't mean you have the upper hand.

I turn again, following the other backup dancer.

"Good one," She whispers as soon as we're far enough away, "To be honest, she's really stuck up. I think she's just jealous that you are dating one of the members,"

We giggle together, ecstatic over the thought of her being jealous.

I decide to go see the BTS members and hopefully get Yoongi to calm my nerves.

Namjoon is doing a pre-concert talk. The boys cheer in unison.

I make eye contact with Yoongi. He gestures to the seat beside him. I walk over, sitting beside him.

"Nervous?" He asks, his eyes full of humour.

"Very," I rub my legs as the anxiety increases. Yoongi chuckles quietly, taking my hand.

"Don't worry, you'll do fine," He smiles, "You practised well. You're a better dancer than any of those girls. The one dancing in front of me stepped on my toes ten times in the first week,"

I snicker, looking over at her. She's finished her makeup, glaring at us like we're being indecent.

"Ready?" I look up at Jungkook. He's wearing black jeans with a loose button-up shirt, the same as Jimin. They both look very attractive, more so with the contacts and makeup. I blush, embarrassed by the direction of my thoughts.

"Yah, go away," Yoongi waves his hand at Jungkook, frowning at me.

I chuckle as Jungkook walks away, looking very confused.

"You," Yoongi points at me, letting go of my hand roughly, "You were enjoying the view, weren't you?"

I giggle, looking around at all the members. The overall theme is much like Blood, Sweat and Tears, but with much brighter colours and more decorative items. For example, Namjoon has chains and feathers hanging around his belt.

"Well, you all look extremely attractive right now," I smirk, "Am I not allowed to appreciate beauty?"

Yoongi narrows his eyes, his eyes full of mischief.

"Really? Well, I think the backup dancers look very sexy," He gestures to the girls sitting on the other side of the room, "Am I allowed to appreciate them?"

"Yes," I grin, "Just don't talk to them like you talk to me,"

"Like what?"

"Giggling, grinning, moving closer, flirting, complimenting... begging," I grin, equally mischievous as Yoongi blushes at the last word.

He nudges me, trying not to laugh.

"Yah," He murmurs, "Be quiet,"

"Can I talk to Lilly now?" Jungkook asks, stepping in front of me again. Yoongi pouts, but he doesn't say no.

I pat the seat beside me and Jungkook sits down.

"What's wrong with Yoongi?" Jungkook whispers, his eyebrows tight-knit in the middle of his forehead.

He really does look super attractive right now, I blush, they all do.

"He noticed I blushed when you came up to me," I smirk, "So I am banned from appreciating beauty,"

"I didn't say that!" Yoongi snaps, folding his arms. Jungkook blushes himself, coughing a little.

"Thank you," He smiles at his knees, blushing darker.

"Yah! Don't enjoy it!" Yoongi stands up, sitting between us. I laugh uncontrollably as both Jungkook and Yoongi sit as still as statues beside each other.

"So," I lean over Yoongi, pushing him back so his back is against the couch, "What did you want to say?"

I can feel Yoongi's smirk as my arms rest on his legs and knees.

"I just wanted to make sure you're not too nervous, and to see if you're ready for your first stage performance," Jungkook says formally, his hands on his knees and his head down.

"It's okay JK," I encourage, "Ignore Yoongi,"

Yoongi scoffs, folding his arms. Jungkook looks up at me, still blushing.

"I also..." He looks at Yoongi warily, "I also wanted to say you look good today,"

"Why thank you JK!" I say loudly, clamping one of my hands over Yoongi's mouth before he can chastise Jungkook.

"It's okay," Jungkook smiles kindly, glancing at Yoongi, "I think I should go now,"

He stands, still watching Yoongi thrash under my hand.

"Yah!" Yoongi shouts as I remove my hand from his mouth.

"Oh shush," I giggle as Yoongi stares at me, a little shocked.

"I bet you enjoyed that!" He snaps, pouting playfully.

"Yes, I enjoy compliments," I pout back, "You haven't complimented me yet,"

Yoongi smirks, grabbing me by the waist and pulling me into him. He rests his forehead against the side of my head, whispering into my ear.

"You don't want to know my thoughts on your outfit right now,"

I blush, wrapping my arms around my chest.

The outfit for the concert is a short bodysuit, with short shorts and short sleeves. It is tight, stretchy, and has see-through parts across the stomach and on the sleeves, making it look like a boob tube and high-waisted shorts. It is black with silver glitter patterns all over it. I am wearing fishnets and high-top sneakers with this. It is excessively revealing, which is surprising considering the place we are performing at.

Luckily, or on purpose, we will be wearing thin silver hoodies over top.

I have dark smoky makeup and my hair is styled up.

"Not here," I mumble, worried someone will overhear.

"Well, you wanted a compliment," He grins cheekily, planting a kiss on my neck.

"I'm never asking for a compliment from you again, pervert," I stand up as Yoongi chuckles. I head over to the backup dancers just as the PD enters to take us out to the stage.

"You're up, let's go,"

Everything from that moment is a blur. I'm too nervous to concentrate on what they are doing. One of the backup dancers places their hand on my shoulder, leading me in the right direction.

I know where we need to be, but I am worried. What if I mess up? What if I make a huge mistake that can't be covered up?

"You ready?" The girl asks as we crouch down, ready to rush onto the stage. I nod because my mouth is unable to come up with something worthwhile.

I look over at the BTS members. They are already on the stage, greeted by immense applause.

Yoongi turns to look for me. Our eyes meet.

He smiles sexily and nods. I feel my confidence come back as I listen to the PD count down the start.

As soon as the music starts and BTS begins to move, all my nervousness evaporates. It's like my brain hears the music and sucks it out. I concentrate, waiting for the part where we enter.

We merge onto the stage from both sides, little subtle movements, crouched down. All I can concentrate on is not messing it up.

I will show them I am not just an amateur. I will show them I was chosen for my skills, and not for the lack of time.

I will show them.

Once we get to the part where we dance in front of the members, I feel a little nervous. I follow the choreography, trying to ignore the eyes the backup dancer is making at Yoongi.

Yoongi is really good at acting.

Yoongi is eyeing her, as he would eye the crowd when he raps. He looks her up and down, his hand gliding over her side as he bites his lip. A bitter taste enters my mouth as I look away, concentrating on the choreography.

I follow Jungkook, allowing him to place his hands on me, something I didn't let him do during practice. As I pass Yoongi I catch sight of his eyes. He is glaring at me.

I smirk and ignore him, moving to my position, making no mistakes.

By the end of the performance, Yoongi looks like he's about to snap.

The MC congratulates BTS as they leave the stage. We walk as a group to the changing rooms, but we are separated when BTS goes to the green room to wait.

Yoongi ignores me the entire time.

"Woah, the boys looked so good tonight!" The girl from before smirks, "All of them,"

I roll my eyes, pulling out my phone and texting Yoongi.

LILLY: Hey, how long do we have to stay?

Yoongi doesn't respond, making me pout. Is he going to ignore me for the entire night?

But it's really my fault.

I scoff, glaring down at my phone. It's not entirely my fault he's angry. He started it. I saw how he was looking at her. He wanted me to get jealous. If he wanted to play it like that, he should have realized that he was playing a dangerous game where I had the high ground.

"What's wrong? Is he not responding to you?" The girl smirks, clutching her phone in her hand. She bites her lip as she looks down at it. I feel an intense boiling rising up inside me.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Lee Jimin, like our Jimin," She giggles like it's the funniest joke in the world.

"Well, Mrs Lee," I say as if she's a much older lady. Her smile slips from her face, "Yoongi wouldn't be able to remember your name anyway, even though your name is the same as his best friend's"

"Yah!" She storms over to me, her nostrils flaring. I fold my arms, amusement dancing in my eyes as I watch her.

"Stop it, we're representing Bighit and BTS right now," One of the girls mumbles, looking at the production staff.

"Fine," I smirk, "But just remember," I saunter over to her, so we're inches apart, "He's mine, bitch," I growl as I push her away. The girls crowd around, pulling her away from me and pushing me so I don't touch her again.

"Everyone quiet!" We turn to see one of the Bighit staff managers, glaring at us all.

He saunters in, looking between me and Lee Jimin. He sighs, gesturing for us to all move closer to him.

"Get dressed and leave. You are no longer needed, okay?"

We bow, apologizing as he turns and leaves the room. I bite my lip, heading straight to a spare toilet to change.

As soon as I am done and dressed in my normal clothes, I drop my costume off and rush out of the concert venue.

Fuck her, fuck Yoongi, fuck Bighit. Fuck all of this bullshit.

I'm fuming as I jump in a taxi, practically yell my address, and head home. I turn off my phone so Yoongi can't call me.

I was upset when I saw Yoongi with that girl, but right now I am livid, beyond furious. I don't know why this time is different, or why I am being so emotional right now, but I am just going with it. I am pissed, so I will remain pissed until something changes my mind.

As soon as I get home, I throw my keys and phone onto the counter and head for the shower.

As I'm in the shower, I feel reasoning set in. Yes, Yoongi was being a jerk, and yes that girl deserved a punch to the face. But I was also in the wrong.

Yeah, I really messed up.

Well! My subconscious reasons, this wouldn't have happened if he kept his hands to himself during the performance. He wasn't like that during practice!

I groan in frustration, kicking my empty shampoo bottle.

Jerk.

I stay here for a long time. It would have been over an hour when I decide to get out.

I turn the water off and climb out, wrapping the towel around my body. I quickly dry my hair and open the bathroom door.

Suddenly, I hear the front door open and close. I move back into the bathroom and wrap a towel around me. I peek out the bathroom door, looking towards my bedroom door.

At first, I think someone has broken in.

Didn't I lock the door?

"Lilly!"

My heart drops as I recognize Yoongi's voice. Did he leave the concert early because of me?

I don't respond, watching the bedroom door for any sign of him.

The door swings open, making me cry out. Yoongi spots me in the doorway to the bathroom. He looks down, realizing I am only wearing a towel.

He seems to tither on an edge of some kind, his expression changing quickly.

"Fuck it," He growls, sauntering over to me. Just before he embraces me, I see a flash of something wild in his eyes. Like reckless, angry love.

My towel slips a little, so I grip it tightly, blushing furiously.

"Yoongi!" I mumble against his shoulder, trying to pull away from him.

"I love you, you know that right?" He asks, pulling away a little, his arms still around me. I pout, still feeling a little angry.

"Why were you so touchy with her?" I blurt, pushing on his chest a little. He continues to hold me.

"Oh yeah? What about you and Jungkook?" He smirks, his eye hardening.

"I..." I try to push him again, but he doesn't relent, "You started it!" I snap.

He chuckles one palm flat against my shoulders and the other in the middle of my back. I clutch at the top of the towel for dear life.

He presses his forehead against mine, breathing deeply, his eyes closed.

"Yoongi," I murmur. His eyes spring open, "I need to get dressed,"

"One more thing," He grins, taking a deep breath, "Will you marry me?"

I stare at him, shock and excitement rushing through my veins. Did I hear that correctly?

Will you marry me?

"W-What is this?" I chuckle, "You can't joke about those things,"

Yoongi smirks sweetly, pulling a ring from his back pocket. I gasp, looking down at the little ring. It isn't super fancy. It has 2 little hearts entwined and it's made of silver. It's perfect.

He takes my hand, the one not holding my towel up. He lifts the ring so it's hovering over my ring finger.

"What do you say?" He purrs, his eyes twinkling, "Will you marry me?"

Do I want to marry him?

I grin, nodding vigorously. Yes, I really do. I want to spend the rest of my life with this man. But why now? What part of that concert made him want to marry me?

"Why now?" I ask, still grinning.

"I've been wanting to ask you all week," Yoongi puts his hands in his pockets, blushing a little, "And after I heard you threatened that backup dancer I just..." He sighs deeply, his grin getting bigger, "I just felt like now is the right time,"

I chuckle, making sure the towel is covering me completely.

"That's a strange decision to make after hearing that," I sigh, "But I need you to get out, so I can get dressed,"

I try to turn and re-enter the bathroom, but Yoongi's hand appears on my shoulder. He turns me around, holding me there. His eyes are full of a type of mischief I am very familiar with.

"You know," He steps closer, "We're engaged now,"

"S-So?" I stammer. He steps closer, his breath mingling with mine in the space between us. My breathing becomes deeper.

"I think..." He moves closer, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into him, "I think it's time,"

I bite my lip, my heart in my throat. He closes the gap, kissing me hard and passionately.

His hands explore my back, leading me to the bed. I feel a burning desire in my lower abdomen. I can't control it.

Just as we reach the bed Yoongi stops. I stare at him breathlessly, frowning a little.

"Lilly," He gasps, "If I put you on that bed..." He takes a deep breath, holding my shoulders to keep his distance, "Are you ready?"

I suddenly feel overwhelmed by his words. The feel of his hands on my bare skin, the smell of him, the intensity of his eyes.

I nod, stepping forward and kissing him again, letting my towel fall. That night, I feel the one thing I have been chasing my entire life; Love. Real, raw love.
