Chapter Three

Lynn's POV

I sighed as I listened to Zoe and Cade argue. Ever since he started staying with us a week ago, it's been crazy between them.

"Can't you guys just kiss and make up?" I asked them and Zoe scoffed at me.

"I'm older than he is. I mean, have you seen him, he's like ten." Zoe said and Cade just laughed.

"Ten? And you're the one who doesn't know how not to argue, and it's always about something ridiculous!" Cade shouted and I rolled my eyes.

"Really, Cade? Really? You guys have been arguing about whose spot this is on the couch for the passed half hour, so you know what? I'm gonna fix the problem." I said, putting my legs across the couch. "Now look. This whole couch is my spot and you two can shut the heck up." They glanced at each other before mumbling under their breath and sitting in different spots.

"It was still my spot." Cade said, childishly.

"You wanna go, pretty boy?!" Zoe asked, angrily, walking up to him.

A knock came from the door and I face-palmed knowing that it was my neighbor.

"You idiots! Now Mrs. Davidson is here checking up on me AGAIN because I'm having conversations with myself! I'm gonna be put in a mental hospital because of you two," I whisper shouted at them and turned my TV on to a soap opera before going over to the door and answering it. "Hi, Mrs. Davidson." I smiled at her. She peeked her head into my apartment.

"Are you okay, dear?" She asked me and I nodded.

"I'm just peachy. I apologize if you heard me shouting. I was talking to my TV again. You don't have to come over here every time, you know? It's always just gonna be my TV." I told her, laughing nervously. She nodded.

"Right, well, I'll just be on my way then." She said before leaving.

I closed the door and looked back at them.

"I'm so gonna kill you guys!" I told them and they glanced at each other before laughing.

"Too late." Cade said.

I rolled my eyes at them and then realized that they were sitting in my spot. I put my hand on my hip.

"You guys are immature. I'm living with kids." I said, throwing my hands up as I walked off to the kitchen.

"Lynn, you have a guest." Zoe said and I sighed as I walked back to the living room seeing a little Ghost girl.

I walked up to her and smiled. "Hi, what's your name?" I asked her.

"I'm Macy. Are you the Ghost Seeker?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yes, that's me. My name is Lynn. Are you ready to pass through?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Yes." She replied.

"Go ahead." I told her and she walked through me, passing through the other side.

I suddenly felt a bunch of different emotions: Pain, loss, fright, sadness. The list goes on.. and I even saw how the little girl died.

I dropped to the floor and my breathing was hard. That's what happens every time a Ghost passes through to the other side and it's because they're letting go of everything that happened to them.

"Lynn?" Cade asked from next to me.

"I'm fine. I'm fine." I told him, standing up and wiping a tear away.

What's strange is, it normally never happens that badly.

"You're weaker, aren't you?" He asked me.

"No. I'm fine." I snapped at him.

I went to my fridge, grabbing a Red Bull before sitting down on my couch and putting my feet up.

Cade was right. I am growing weaker. How did he know that about Ghost Seekers, though? Only a Ghost Seeker knows their weaknesses.
