☆\\ Chapter Six
NALINA ROMIREZ
I woke up with a throbbing headache.
It was a long night and I only got to sleep for a few hours. This was too much to handle. Why were so much things happening in one single week?. I knew there were wolves but now lycans also existed. It was terrifying and I can't remove the image from my head. The size of it, the way it growled and was ready to come after us.
I felt traumatized.
After my dad spoke to the Alpha, we went inside and head to bed. I saw him again.
I felt this pull towards him. I needed answers but to what?. This just doesn't make any sense to me. It felt like we were connected in some way. But how?
If it wasn't for him, last night we definitely would've become lycan meat. But I'm glad that my father helped that girl even though I sensed something strange about her. I mean, what person would be out in the woods at that time of the night?.
I was suprised to see her actually obeyed the Alpha and went with him. Maybe she wasn't human?. But what else could she be?. All I know was that she was no wolf.
I sighed before leaving the bed and going to the bathroom. I stopped in my tracks, remembering that I was going to visit my grandma. I stripped off all my clothes and hopped in the shower. I was excited because I needed a break from here. I want to clear my mind and what better place than the quietness of grandma's place?.
After about ten minutes, I exit the shower and left the bathroom. I decided to put on a white hoodie and a pair of grey shorts.
My room door was pushed open, Avan entered with a frown on his face.
"Do we really have to go?", he asked and I tilted my head at his silly question.
"Yes we do. Alot has been happening lately and I want to clear my head. So start packing and you could also download a few movies on your phone to keep you occupied", I replied as I took out my small travel bag. It could hold enough clothes for three days.
"I don't know why you enjoy being there so much. She literally has nothing to do. The place is dead", he said as he crossed his arms. Typical Avan who only enjoys watching football. Anything else is boredom for him.
"Well, I'm going with or without you so chose wisely", I replied smiling cheekily at him.
"Fine, but don't force me to enjoy myself when we get there", was his last words before he left the room. He was so miserable. I went to my closet and found three comfortable outfits and fit them in my bag.
After getting everything sorted, I went downstairs and towards the kitchen. I inhaled deeply as an aromatic smell hit my nose. Mom was preparing buttermilk pancakes and they were the best thing ever.
"Good morning", I said, taking a seat around the table.
"Morning sweetie, your grandma is very excited for the visit. Clyde is already on his way to pick you guys up", she said glancing at me.
"Who is Clyde?", Avan asked as he entered the kitchen. I was also thinking the same thing because I had no idea who mom was talking about. Grandma lived alone and not once did I ever see this Clyde person the countless times I visited.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. He's your grandma's friend. He's been staying at her house for a while now", mom replied before placing the pancakes on the table. My mouth watered at the sight.
I shared mine first and dug in. I still felt a little tired because I didn't get as much rest last night. I kept tossing and turning until I eventually fell asleep. Sometimes I think that my mind, also has a mind of its own. I will be wanting to do one thing but it just doesn't let me.
"Since you guys won't be home your father and I will be taking a trip as well. We want to have some fun too", mom said as Avan and I looked at each other. You could see it in his face that he wasn't excited one bit. I'll just have to try and cheer him up on the way.
"By the way, where's dad?. I haven't seen him all morning", I asked as I finished my first pankcake.
"He left really early this morning. Something came up at the office and his boss wanted to see him", mom replied with a small shrug.
"I'm going to finish packing", Avan said before getting up and leaving the kitchen.
"Are you ok Lina?", mom then asked as she looked at me.
"Yes I am, why did you ask?", I said as I started chewing slowly. I mean, alot has been happening but I was feeling alright.
"You know, with everything that's been going on. Last night was pretty scary and confusing to be honest. We could've gotten hurt by that...lycan was it?. All these supernatural creatures are driving me crazy", she said sounding a bit stressed.
"It's ok mom, don't worry too much", I told her as I caressed her hand. It's a good thing we were leaving this place for a while.
Everyone needed to clear their heads and relax.

"So you're Clyde?", Avan asked as the man smiled and looked at us.
"Yes I am. Very nice to meet both of you. Your Grandma is waiting for you so let's go", he said as he took our bags and placed them in the trunk of the car.
He was definitely not what I expected. He was tall and seemed to be in his early thirties. He had long black hair that was tied in a very neat bun. He was dressed casually in a pair of dark washed jeans and a blue shirt.
"So, how did you meet my grandma?", Avan asked once we were inside the car.
"Well, I met her when she was out shopping. I carried her bags for her and well she invited me over for dinner. She's the sweetest old lady I've ever met and her games are quite intriguing", Clyde replied and I smiled. He was right, grandma was the nicest person on earth.
"That's nice but don't her games ever get boring?", Avan asked and I slapped his arm. He groaned in pain but I didn't care. He was being dramatic.
"Well not really. We mostly play scrabble and poker and those games are great. I'm good but not as good as her", Clyde answered as he glanced at us.
"Interesting. We will have to play a few games then", I said as he smiled through the rearview mirror.
The day was nice and sunny. Avan placed his airpods in as he watched something on his phone. I wasn't a fan of them because they always manage to fall out. I can be listening a song and when my favorite part comes on the airpods will just randomly fall out.
I relaxed in my seat, my eyes watching the trees as they go by. People always insinuated the woods to be scary or deadly but it can also be calming. The birds and insects are pretty much harmless. The scariest part about the woods were the creatures that lurks there.
"So, no school for the rest of the week?", Clyde asked as I sat up in my seat.
"No, a fight broke out so the principal announced that school will resume on Monday", I replied as he took a left turn, pulling up at a rest stop. A gas station and also a small convenience store was present.
"Let's grab a bite to eat", he said and I unclasped my seatbelt and exit the car. I waited for Avan who was moving really slow before we made our way into the convenience store.
"Get anything you want then meet back at the cashier", Clyde stated before walking off to the back of the store.
I went down the second aisle as I tried to decide what chips I wanted. I took up a pack of spicy cheetos and a sour cream Pringles. I didn't like chips that were made in the original flavor. I was about to turn and walk off when a hand connected with one of my ass cheeks.
I turned around immediately, my eyes landing on the guy who slapped me. He was smirking as he eyed me up and down. I stared at him in disgust before he started approaching me.
"Hey back off!", I shouted before I was pushed behind someone. I heard a growl and I looked up at Clyde who's eyes had changed to a darker color. I stared in shock as the guy started trembling before turning and running off. Clyde's eyes met mine but he only placed a finger on his lips.
"Is everything alright?", Avan asked as he looked between Clyde and I. I nod and smiled as I turned and started walking back slowly.
I sighed as I felt a headache coming on. This was just the beginning of three days away from home. And I just found out that a wolf will be in the same house as us.
And not just any wolf, a very close friend of my grandma.
Just great.
