"I don't know when I'll see her again", I stated to my father as I glared at my reflection in the mirror. I have waited for years to find her and I did and now she was gone. My wolf wanted to take over and claim her but I held back.

It wasn't the right time.

It has been two days now since our first encounter and I wanted her in my arms more than anything. I knew she had no idea who I really was to her but I knew she felt the pull. She was breathtakingly beautiful and she was mine.

If only it was that simple, I would search for her and take her back and never let her go. But I wasn't a psychopath and I always say that the best things take time.

And I was willing to wait.

It was really dangerous for her to wander on our territory especially at night. She claimed she wanted to help a mother wolf which was quite heart warming. The mother wolf was mated to an Alpha but he was abusing her so she ran away with their cub. My expression was deadly when she was telling me the story because there was nothing more fucked up than someone abusing their mate.

I accepted her into the pack but I assigned one of the pack members to keep a close eye on her. An Alpha should never trust too easily. My father was my main supporter growing up. He taught me to hunt, fight and be wise at everything I did. When my mom died from an unfortunate fire, I knew it had shattered him but he stayed tough and I never once saw him shed a tear. 

"Things take time son. The best thing is that you finally found her. Remember she will be feeling the pull the longer she stays away from you and when it's too much to handle she will be coming back. I'm happy that you found her son, I'm sure she will make a wonderful Luna".

I turned to my dad feeling enlightend at what he just said. He always knew what to say and when to say it. I'm sure if mom was here she would be happy as well. I was so pissed earlier because I had to punish two of my pack members. They decided to start a fight at the academy they were going to over some stupidness. I gave them two hours to gather as much firewood as possible for the bonfire this weekend because it will be a full moon.

The full moon was the hardest time for unmated wolves.

Especially me.

It made you feel as if there's a scorching heat in your chest and it made your body ache to the point where you lose control. We held the bonfire to bring everyone together to protect the humans. It would be bad for us if we had horny unmated wolves running around terrorizing them.

"I'm heading to bed, you should get some rest as well. It's been a long day", my dad said and I nod slowly.

I watched as he left the room and closed the door. I turned off the lights and went to the window. Earlier I assigned the watch group for the night. They were warriors who took turns guarding the place throughout the night.

'I miss our mate, we should've claimed her the first time we saw her'.

My wolf was dominant as I was but he was also a horny bastard. I'm sure if I didn't have enough self control he would've taken over and claimed our mate right in the office. I didn't want that because she would either reject me after I explained why I did it and that's the worst part. I just found her, I can't lose her and I won't.

I went to my bed getting ready to strip off my clothes when there was a ear-splitting scream. It came from the woods and I groaned before leaving the room. Usually I would let my beta handle this but he was out hunting across the borders. He won't be back until tomorrow morning.

I made my way to down the hall as I passed some of the pack members who were now wide awake. My two Zeta's Pierre and Vinx was already waiting for me.

"Alpha, it came from the woods but who would be out here at this time?", Pierre said as we made our way outside. There was another scream but this time it sounded much farther away.

"Everyone listen, I want Pierre, Vinx and Klement with me. The rest of you go back inside, we'll handle this", I said before stripping my clothes and transforming into my large grey wolf. I howled into the air before taking off. My Zetas were behind me as we followed the scent through the woods.

There was another scream and I ran even faster. It definitely was a human and a girl at that. What was she doing in these parts so late and what was she running from?. There were no updates on rogues entering our territory from the border patrol so it had to be something else.

And I was going to find out what.

We ran until we were out into the open from the woods. There was huge growl followed by another scream. I knew those growls anywhere.

Lycans.

I looked at my Zetas before they nod and took off in opposite directions. I went straight ahead and that's when I heard the sound of a gun being fired. I ran until a house came into view along with the figures of about five people. I stopped and all of a sudden, my eyes caught a Lycan emerging from the woods.

I growled and ran, my body tackling it to the ground before it could reach the humans. One thing about me when fighting is that I'm always aggressive. I went for it's neck but pulled away before it could claw at me. Lycans were strong creatures but I find them no competition for me. It growled loudly and that's when a sweet scent hit my nose.

I looked to my left and there she was.

My mate.

She seemed terrified as a guy who I assumed was family held her closely to him. I turned back around and howled as my Zetas came into the view. There was one last growl from the lycan before it ran away. I could've killed it but not infront of my mate.

'It's back in the woods, if you can't manage to capture it, kill it'

After sending a message through the pack link, I turned and looked at where my mate was. I sensed something strange with the girl that was wrapped in a blanket, her body perched on the steps as she shivered violently.

She wasn't a human but I couldn't tell what she was.

I transformed into my human form before flexing my arms in the air. I noticed how my mate eyes widen before her face was shielded by the guy turning her away. I groaned silently because I was the only one allowed to touch her.

"Alpha, what was that...thing?", her father asked as he adjusted the gun in his hand. The woman I assumed was his wife was gripping onto him with frightened eyes.

"Lycans. They are vicious creatures and they hunt in packs. Why were you out of your house so late?", I asked him before looking back at my mate. She was staring at me with those beautiful hazel eyes.

"We heard a scream and it sounded like someone needed help. When we came out we didn't see anything at first but then this girl emerged from the woods and then this creature appeared. I fired a shot scaring it but it came back after", he replied and I hummed quietly.

"You could've gotten hurt and we may not be a part of you but you're important to us. For now you should go back inside and lock up. As for her, she needs to come with me", I replied as we all looked at the girl. She got up and came up to me knowing that I knew she wasn't human.

I watched as they turned and started to go back inside. My mate stood still for a few seconds just staring at me before she was pulled inside by the guy. I then turned to my two Zetas that were waiting eagerly for my next orders.

"We need to head back and figure out what's going on", I said as they nod and started shifting. I turned to the girl and I realized her eyes were a simple shade of purple. She seemed really young.

"I'm not going to hurt you, I just need to know a few things", I said and she nod before clutching the blanket tighter. I shifted back and started walking, her form following beside me.

Why were lycans back after being out of sight for so long? And why were they near our territory?. There was something bigger going on and maybe a war coming. But I love a challenge and I will fight to the death to protect my pack.

I wasn't called Alpha for no reason.
