"You all have a test tomorrow", Mr Stewart stated proudly as everyone including me sighed. His tests were always popping up when we least expect them.

"And here I was hoping to watch the rematch of Germany and Brazil today. Guess not because I have to study", Avan said before releasing a long groan. He was so obsessed with football for whatever reason. I didn't like it much because I alway get bored whenever I tried to watch it. I have nothing against the sport but it was just not my thing.

"You're so crazy about football yet you aren't a part of the academy's football team", Kailee stated as she looked at him.

I've always wondered why he didn't join the team. He was the goal keeper back in high school for his team and he was pretty good at it. He was the only reason I went to the matches because I wanted to support him.

"I just didn't want to join it. Besides their team already has some good players. You should've seen the match last month, it was insane", he exaggerated as I remembered the match he was begging me to go to. As expected, I didn't. The thing about me is that if I don't feel the thrill to go somewhere, I will never leave my home.

I heard some laughter and I looked to my left where the gang was. When I arrived at school this morning, I thought there was going to be some altercation because of what happened the other day. Surprisingly, Avan and I walked past them without any problems. I was thankful because I didn't want him to get hurt.

Zyair's eyes met mine and I quickly turned away. I've been on the edge lately because of how he approached me yesterday. Which normal person would do that?. But then again he wasn't normal. He was a shape shifting creature with sharp teeth and razor claws.

Just like the Alpha.

My body somewhat started heating up when he crossed my mind. I chewed on my bottom lip when I remembered how his hands caught me before I fell. It was one of those moments where time literally stopped and no one else existed but us. It was weird and shocking. What was even more weird was how he placed his head on mine and stared into my eyes. That wasn't some normal behaviour. I just didn't know what it meant.

"Earth to Lina".

I was brought back by a finger snapping across my face. I realized that the bell has rang and the class was empty aside from the three of us. I stood up and packed up my things before throwing my bag over my shoulder.

"I wonder what had you so caught up in your thoughts. Let me guess, Mr. Big Bad Alpha", Avan teased and I groaned wanting to punch him for bringing that back up.

"What does he mean?", Kailee asked as I remembered that I haven't told her anything about what happened.

"I'll tell you after school", I replied and she nod slowly. She was eager to know but not now. The place wasn't quiet and even the lockers had ears. Can't be too sure of what you say and where you say it.

After collecting our food, we took our seat and started eating. I went on my phone and started scrolling through instagram. I started watching a video but didn't get to finish as someone was harshly thrown on our table. I shrieked and we all jumped up.

A vicious fight was going on.

Avan pushed me behind him as the two guys started growling at each other. I didn't even know what started it. I realized that they were from the gang and I knew things were going to get really messy. We all stayed back except the gang who refused to part their members. Zyair remained seated, still on his phone, appearing completely unbothered by everything happening around him.

"This is bad", Kailee said as the guys started stripping their clothes. Their eyes had changed to a dark red and their bones started breaking.

Oh god! They were shifting!

I looked at the lunch section but none of the cooks were present. I stayed behind Avan as the guys shifted completely revealing two large brown wolves. I've never seen their transformation and even though it was scary, it still fascinated me.

"Everyone out, NOW!", someone shouted as eveyone started rushing out. Avan took my hand and pulled me away along with everyone else. We all made our way out of the building and onto the grass. Despite everything that was happening  I could hear lots of growls and the sound of items being thrown all over. The crowd was murmuring amongst themselves about the unfortunate event.

"Well, no more school for the rest of the week. It's going to take days to clean up the cafeteria and replace the damaged items", Kailee said before we saw the academy's principal heading our way. He was tall and had a nice bundle of hair. He could pass for a model despite his age.

"Students please gather around!. There won't be anymore classes for the rest of the day or the week unfortunately. You will return on Monday. Please go home and finish up your assignments!", he stated before his hands dropped to his sides.

There were alot of excitement from most students because of what the principal said. I knew he was angry about the situation but what could he do?. This wasn't one of those fights that you can get in between and not get hurt. There will be no more school for now so that meant I could visit grandma and spend a few days with her.

"I can't believe it", Kailee said as she rest her head on my shoulder.

"Don't worry, I'll keep you company so you won't get bored", Avan said before giving her a wink.

I laughed to myself when Kailee flashed him off.

"Atleast I'll get to rewatch Germany and Brazil!", Avan said next as he grinned.

"You know, if you love football so much maybe you should marry one of them", Kailee said and we both looked at her with confusion.

"What do you mean?", Avan asked as he crossed his arms.

"Exactly what I said, marry a football. You know like that guy who married his car".

That was when we all burst out into fits of laughter. Even Kailee couldn't hold it back. I remember exactly who she was talking about. There was this guy on YouTube who married his car and everyone thought he was crazy.

"Why would I marry a football when I can just marry you?", Avan said cockily as he smirked at her.

"Why would I marry you when I can just be single and free?", Kailee fired back and Avan grabbed his chest as if he just got stabbed.

"You guys should just get married so you can stop teasing each other", I said before I walked off not waiting for their response.

They both caught up to me and we started to make our way to our homes. This little break from school was unexpected but I can't say that I was upset. I mean, no homework or class projects for an entire week.

Who wouldn't want that?.

"I'm planning to visit grandma tomorrow since there's no more school. I'm sure she will be happy to see me", I said to my parents as we sat around the table having dinner.

"That's actually really good. I'll call to let her know that you and Avan will be visiting", my mom replied as I heard a groan coming from Avan. He loved his grandma but she was old schooled so that meant she didn't have cable or Netflix. He always complained about how he was bored and he couldn't wait to go home.

I, on the other, hand enjoyed being at her house. She lived closed to the woods which had a small lake that I would spend most of my time relaxing at. Her board games were fun especially scrabble which I always manage to beat Avan at.

After I finished eating, I washed my dish before heading up to my room. When I was halfway upstairs I heard my dad calling me and I stopped and turned back.

"Is everything alright?", I asked when I reached the bottom step.

"I should be asking you. How are you feeling about what happened the other day?", he asked as he looked at me.

"I'm fine. I didn't mean to tresspass on their property and I promise it will never happen again", I said as he nod slowly.

"Ok. You can go to bed now, sleep well.", he said before kissing me on the head. I smiled before I turned and went up to my room. After closing the door I went to my window and peered into the woods. There wasn't a full moon tonight so the place wasn't as bright.

I was about to close the window but paused when I saw somewhat of a figure lurking in the woods. I couldn't make out exactly what I was seeing. Was it just a shadow from a tree? I didn't think anyone would be watching me and if they were, what would be the reason?. I shook my head feeling a bit paranoid before I closed the window and draw the curtains.

I hopped under my covers and held the pillow close to my chest. The Alpha popped up in my mind for the fiftieth time today. There was just something about him that peaked my curiosity. I closed my eyes and snuggled my pillow tighter.

An ear splitting scream caused my eyes to snap open. It was coming from outside. It was so loud that I knew it had woken up everyone. My heart started racing as I dashed from my room. I met Avan on the way who was shocked as me as we hurried downstairs.

Dad was already there with mom gripping onto his shirt. There was another scream and I felt my heart sink. I was beyond scared of whatever was happening out there. It sounded like someone needed help but from what?.

"Avan hold your mom, I'm going to get my gun", my dad said and my mind froze.

What the hell was happening!
