☆\\ Chapter Three

We stopped infront of a large brown door.

I was overwhelmed with nervousness and fear. I must've entered their territory when I was following after the wolf cub. The guy went inside and then made a way for me to enter. I stepped inside the room and suddenly it got heavy. My body started to tremble but I tried to keep my composure. There was a surge of power in the room that made the hairs on my arms and neck stand up.

The inside was spacious and there in the center of the room was a large desk and two chairs. On the other side of the room was a pair of black couches and a glass table. Behind the large desk two men were seated, their faces held no emotion.

The only one who caught my attention was the one without any shirt on. He sat there, staring at me as if I had just committed a serious crime. His face was undeniably handsome and well defined with a strong jawline. He had black wavy hair and a pair of deep blue eyes. He had a tattoo across his chest and also a nice set of abs.

-wait, what was I doing?

I averted my eyes while mentally slapping myself for staring at him for so long. What had gotten into me?.

"Here she is Alpha", the guy said before bowing and walking out. The room got heavier as I stood there looking anywhere but at the two men. The one that was staring at me was the Alpha.

I heard a throat being cleared then someone spoke.

"Come closer, we're not going to hurt you", the other man stated.

I stepped closer, my feet taking me until I felt like I should stop. I played with my fingers as I refused to look at the Alpha. It was like his stare had an effect on my body.

My knees felt weak and I didn't understand why.

"What's your name?", he asked in a very deep voice. It felt like my knees were going to give out any second.

"Lina", I replied unbelievably not stuttering at all. This time I met the Alpha's eyes, they were glowing red. I didn't know what that meant so I stepped back. I lost my balance, bracing myself to fall on the hard tiles.

But I didn't.

All I felt next were two strong arns around my body holding me tightly.

I opened my eyes and came face to face with the Alpha. My heart was beating so fast that I may have a heart attack on the spot. His eyes were still glowing but his face was no longer serious. It was somewhat calm. I wanted to regain my posture but I couldn't move.

It was like I was lost in a trance.

He reached down and placed his head on mine. By this time I didn't know what to think anymore. I was only focusing on the Alpha who was holding me as if I would disappear if he let me go.

He stood up taking me with him until I was back on my feet. I was somehow brought back to reality by some commotion happening outside the door.

It was suddenly bursted open.

My dad came in and I pulled away and rushed to him. What was he doing here?.

"Dad!", I cried as I wrapped my hands around him. He hugged me back and I could've sworn I heard a growl coming from behind me.

"Are you ok?", he said as he inspected me. I nod assuring him that I was physically unharmed.

"Who are you?", the Alpha spoke as my dad turned to him.

"I'm her father. My apologies for trespassing on your territory but I had to find my daughter", my dad replied as I looked at the Alpha. His eyes were no longer red and was back to their normal color. As I stood there I remembered about the cub and its injured mom.

"What about the injured wolf, is she alright?", I asked as I peeked at him.

"She's fine", he replied and I nod before averting my eyes.

"It's not a threat to us if you enter our territory, it's a threat to your own life. There are more dangerous things out there than you can imagine and we don't want to start a war by humans blaming us for their foolish behaviours. We live here separated from you to protect both our worlds", the man who was seated stated before pushing back his chair and getting up.

"I understand, it won't happen again", my dad said as he looked at me. I knew he was going to lecture me about this. Maybe if I didn't follow the cub the events would've turned out the same. Only that I wouldn't have been involved and the mother wolf would be helped the same way.

"Tariq, see them out and safely across the border", the man said as the guy opened the door for us to leave. I looked at the Alpha once more before turning and following after my dad.

"Lina, are you alright?", was the first thing Avan asked as he hugged the life out of me. After he released me, it was my mom next who had worry written all over her face.

"My baby, I'm glad that you're alright. where have you been? Avan checked your room this morning and you weren't in there", she said and I swallowed harshly. I knew she was going to have a fit when she heard everything that happened.

"I crossed into the Alpha's territory but it was for a small cause-

-You did what?", she cut me off.

I sat down on the couch, ignoring all their eyes that were on me.

"It's ok baby, everything's alright now. She's back at home, safe and sound. I'm sure she will never wander off again especially so late in the night", my dad said as he held my mom in his arms. I felt guilty because I knew they were seriously worried.

Avan took my hand and pulled me from the living room. Once out of our parents earshot he turned to me.

"So did you meet the Alpha?", he asked and my mind drifted back to him. He was the depiction of dominance and I figured out that it was his presence that made me feel so giddy inside. But I didn't really know why.

Was it because I was human?. Or was it because it was my first time actually meeting him in person?

I had no idea.

"Yes I did", I replied before turning and running up the stairs before he could ask me anything else. I wasn't going to elaborate on the moment when I almost fell and the Alpha caught me.

"Wait!"

I rushed to my room and almost succeeded in locking the door but he blocked it. I groaned as I made my way to the bed and jumped on it.

"Why did you run? I had more questions", he stated as he closed the door and laid beside me.

"Exactly, I don't want to answer any questions. I just want to forget all that happened", I replied before turning onto my side.

What I said was battling against my mind. There was no way I could forget everything that happened. The way he caught me and held me as if I was going to run away the chance I get. His eyes turned red the moment he saw me but I didn't know what that meant.

"Lina, are you sure you're ok? I know you and I can tell when something is on your mind. You can talk to me", he said calmy and I sighed.

I turned around and faced him. He smiled assuring me that it was ok to say what I want. The thing was, I didn't know what I wanted to say. It's like I wanted to say so many things but none of them can be formed into words.

"It's just, it was scary you know. And the Alpha, well, he was tall and muscular, he screamed complete dominance and he was shirtless and-", I stopped when I realized what I was saying. My face heated up as Avan started humming.

"Ah, I see", he said and I turned and looked at him.

"What do you see?", I asked confusingly but he just kept grinning at me.

"Hmm, let me guess, little red riding Lina has a crush on the big bad alpha", he mocked as he wiggled his eyebrows.

I glared at him as he started laughing hysterically. I can't believe he just said that. I shook my head as I ignored him and took up my phone.

"Who knows, maybe one day he'll pop up and propose to you", he stated before bursting into another wave of laughter. He was unbelievable.

There was this feeling in my chest that felt somewhat empty. I didn't know why and it was so weird that when I think of him my mind feels calm. I feel at peace. All I knew was that I wouldn't be setting even a toe on their territory again.
