Chapter 5
The car ride home took about half an hour. I sat in the back seat and looked through the window. The trees were green, the grass was tall, and the flowers danced in the wind. The scenery was perfect. Soon though, we were in a neighborhood. All the houses were two story and only rich people would live in them. I watched as we pulled into a big White House with tons of flowers surrounding it.
The car stopped. We all climbed out. I walked under the tree in the front yard. It was huge and there was a perfect spot for sitting. "Come on, Bella!" called my mom. I walked over to them. They led me into the house. We were in the dining room when we first entered. Beautiful white leather couches were I a circle around a big coffee table. There was four white chairs around a white dining table. There was a hallway and one room was the kitchen and a bedroom. Ours were up stairs though. My parents led me up the stairs to a bedroom. My room. It had beautiful sky blue walls with a white dresser, a white dresser, and white desk. Why did everything have to be white?
My parents said they had to get dinner ready. I was alone in my room. I saw in the corner of the room was a white bookshelf. On top of it was a sketchbook. It had "To: Bella" written at the top. I took it down. I sat at the desk. At least the rolling chair was gray-white. I sat and opened it up. I grabbed a pencil and I started drawing the cage and the dark room I was in. Before I knew it, I was done. I just closed the sketchbook. I decided to explore the house.
I slowly went out in the hallway. I took a peek in the first door. It was a bathroom, it looked like it was for me. The next room was my parents room, which had its own bathroom. I walked back to the stairs. I went down them. I found another bathroom on the first floor. My parents were in the kitchen, and beyond the kitchen was a room with a desk, a computer, and a TV. I called it a playroom. I went back up to my room. I didn't feel right.
I sat on my bed. "I know you don't feel good," said a voice.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I'm the beast that scientist put in you. I would usually kill, but you fought me and won, so I became part of you. I can make you look like what I look like," said the voice, "and you're the only one that can hear me. You don't have to speak out so I can hear." I freaked out. I started breathing quickly. "Calm yourself," said the beast. I took a deep breath. "I won't do anything except talk unless you say I can," he said. I relaxed.
"Dinner!" called my mom.
"Please be quiet until after dinner," I told the beast, not saying it out loud.
