So, during dinner, my parents decided to send me to Beach Middle School. Today was my first day of school, everybody else had been in school for a week now. My parents helped me get my uniform on. It was a white button-up shirt with a black shirt and flats.

My mom drove me to school. I didn't speak. I haven't spoken to my parents much yet. I'm scared to tell them about what happened during and before I became a test subject. Soon, I was at the school. "Have a good day honey," said my mom as I climbed out of the car. I slowly walked into the building. I had to go to the office. I finally found it and went in.

"Hi, Bella. Here's your schedule and locker number and combination," said the lady who was behind the desk. I nodded, took it, and left. I soon found my locker. I opened it up. All the supplies I would need were in the locker already. I saw Aiden talking to his friends. He did a quick wave, and I blushed.

"You like him," said the beast.

"No, he's just the only one I know." I responded. I walked to my first class, English. My teacher was at her desk. I went up to her desk.

"Hi, I'm Bella. Where do I sit?" I quietly asked. The teacher looked up at me.

"Hi Bella, I'm Mrs. Weather. You're sitting on the left side of the back table, facing me," the teacher replied. I nodded and walked to my seat. Everyone else came rushing in. A girl sat next to me. She had perfect brown curls for hair and the most beautiful hazel eyes I had ever seen. She smiled at me, but started taking out her stuff.

"Talk to her," said the beast. I cleared my throat.

"Hi. I'm Bella," I said. The girl looked at me.

"I'm Mia," said the girl.

"Nice to meet you," I told her.

"Same," she responded.

"Silence class," said Mrs. Weather. Class started. The bell rang a few minutes later. I scanned the room while Mrs. Weather talked about a book we must read. It was Wonder by R.J. Palacio. I had read it before I got kidnapped. I remembered it. "Please raise your hand if you have read Wonder," said Mrs. Weather. I wasn't the only one who rose my hand. Two other students did. I listen to her entire lecture.

Four more classes after that, it was finally lunch. The school served it. I went in the lunchroom. I went in the lunch line. They were serving chicken nuggets and French fries. I got a bottle of water to go with it. I sat at a table with a few girls. They got up and moved. I tried a different group of girls. The same thing happened. There was a third group of girls, but I didn't want to try. I just sat alone. I just looked at my lunch. Suddenly, I heard a voice. I looked up. It was Aiden and his friends. They sat down.

Aiden and his friends talked about themselves. I didn't say anything. I learned Dave and Ralph were Aiden's friends. I learned Aiden had an extra bone in his foot and had to get it out. He had two brothers and two sisters. Aiden loves grapes. His friends say he would grow up and buy the most grapes ever. I had to laugh with his friends about that. They asked me questions, I answered some stuff about my family, but I told them I didn't want to talk about some things. Then , a girl walked up.
