Teaghan had heard many things about mates. How it would instantly affect her when she finally found hers, but hearing about it and experiencing it was two very different things.

Her body felt like it was on fire. Her mind whirled with thoughts that she had never thought of before. God, please don't let him be some sort of rogue! That was the thought that kept her from doing more than staring.

She knew this had to be just as much of a shock to him as it was to her, but she raised her brow still waiting for him to introduce himself.

As if realizing he was supposed to be talking the male dragged his eyes back up her body, slowly, and she felt every second of it as if he were literally touching her.

"Alpha Reeve King. I was summoned here," his deep voice was silky smooth and nearly made Teaghan's mouth water.

When she realized just what he said, her mouth gaped in shock, her eyes widening. "Y-y-y..." She sputtered, looking to Cecily who only nodded.

Jerking her gaze back to Alpha Reeve she could only stare for a moment before realizing what she must look like. "I see-" no she really didn't! She had assumed the Alpha would be older, "I'm happy you received my letter."

Alpha Reeve tilted his head slightly, "you sent me the letter asking for assistance?" He reached into his pocket and waved said letter around. "I can see what you meant about being defenseless, it also, seems you have another issue that wasn't mentioned."

Teaghan felt her face begin to heat. The way his eyes narrowed and moved above her and off into the distance there was no way she could mistake his meaning. She wished she could deny his claim that Cameron was an issue, but she couldn't.

He was after all the Alpha's son and while she had no problem defending herself and her sister she couldn't do much more than that. "I can handle that issue just fine," she looked around and while the majority of the pack stayed within their homes some had ventured out to figure out what was going on.

"We should take this conversation inside. If you would please follow me Alpha." Teaghan gestured to Cecily and she lead the group into the pack house.

"Reeve," the Alpha's voice sounded in her ear. She jumped and whirled around only to find him way to close to her. Her chest brushed his, tingles and warmth shot through her body.

His woodsy scent mixed with his natural male scent made her breathe deeply. She nearly moaned as she imprinted his scent to memory. Too late she realized he had said something to her and she jerked away, "what?"

His wicked eyes glittered with amusement and something she couldn't quite put her finger on, "Reeve. You don't need to call me Alpha, just Reeve will be fine."

Captured by his gaze she nodded, "okay."

Satisfied he looked away, releasing her from his gaze and she sagged immediately. Cecily bumped her shoulder and when she looked to her sister and saw the question in her eyes she shook her head.

"This is Gael, my Beta. Sean is my best tracker, Tory my instructor and Mark and Joshua are two of my seniors." Reeve introduced, pointing out each male.

Teaghan nodded to each male, finding them all nearly as big as Reeve. She felt horrible now for having not yet introducing herself or Cecily. "I'm Teaghan and this is my little sister Cecily."

"Sean, Mark, Troy and Joshua for now why don't you go patrol the borders while Gael and I figure out whats going on," without question the males did as they were told strolling out of the pack house with ease.

"You don't realize how much we need your help, Alpha Reeve. As it is Teaghan is doing everything on her own," Cecily stated.

Teaghan shot a look to her sister, but it was completely overlooked by Alpha Reeve.

"What do you mean she does everything?" Reeve took a seat and Gael stood at his back.

With an apologetic look towards Teaghan Cecily admitted, "she does the patrolling of the entire territory, she is the one who cooks, she trains every single day sometimes from sun up to sun down. She's fought off rogues before. One time I thought we'd lo-"

"That's enough Cece," Teaghan snapped, "the point Alpha Reeves is the males in this pack haven't been motivated to do their duty since the Alpha- since we lost our Luna."

Reeve leaned forward even further putting him right in front of Teaghan. "I told you to call me Reeve and when did Maria pass?" He hadn't heard any word of it and his heart clenched at the loss and for Alpha Steve.

"Two years ago." Teaghan fought the rising heat as he corrected her. "Alpha Steve locked himself away about three months after."

"Who has been running the pack?" Gael demanded, no longer standing in the background.

Before Teaghan or even Cecily could answer, Reeve did. "Teaghan has." The way he said her name made shivers run down her spine. Damn, could this mating bond get any more intense?
