🔹 Five 🔹
Teaghan was patrolling the West border when she smelt them before she saw them. She turned, preparing herself for the inevitable. Just then, Cameron accompanied by two other male pack members moved forward.
"You owe me an apology you bitch," he sneered. Sure he may be the Alpha's son, but she would never apologize to him. Never.
"No, I don't." She let her arms fall to her sides limply. She wasn't going to get out of this without some form of fighting and when Cameron shared a look with the two other males and they spread out her thoughts were confirmed.
"You do and I'm going to get it one way or the other." He took slow hesitant steps forward. "Of course, breaking you and that attitude will be just as much fun."
Her stomach heaved in disgust at the way he looked at her. It was as if she were a piece of meat and it didn't sit well with her.
"As soon as my father passes, I will be Alpha and you'll have no choice but to do as ordered," Cameron bragged as if it was an actual possibility.
"Your father wouldn't allow for you to become Alpha, not when he learns how you've treated the pack members with such disgust. Forcing your attention on women, being lazy.. You can't run the pack, Cameron!"
"I can and I will. Perhaps, I'll make Cecily my Luna."
She knew she shouldn't have but the thought of him putting his hands on her sister again made her snarl. The sound now more beast than human.
When he lunged forward she brought her hands up, ready.

Reeve grunted when he shifted back, they had run most of the way and now transitioning to two feet left him feeling a bit uneven. "We're this close yet no one has stopped us or appeared," he looked at the border and frowned.
"I don't like it Alpha," Gael muttered as he too looked around. They made their way cautiously closer but even when the crossed the border still no one showed themselves.
"It gives me the willies," Troy shivered dramatically earning a strained laugh from the men.
"Let's continue onto the pack house. Hopefully, once we're there we will get some answers." Reeve lead the way, being a little familiar with the place. He hadn't visited in years, but he was sure nothing had changed that much.
As they broke through the tree line into the clearing they took a moment to simply take in everything. What little there was. A couple kids kicked a ball around but no warriors stood at attention.
"They're as defenseless as new born babies," Sean muttered with disgust. Mark, Joshua, Troy, and Gael nodded and grunted their agreements.
How easy it would be for anyone to come here and slaughter them all. Frown turning darker, he went rigid when he heard a low growl. Thinking that finally, he would see a warrior, he was left blinking rapidly at the vision in front of him.
A girl stood there with the kids tucked behind her back as if she would defend them against the five of them. He quickly took her in. A wisp of a girl, petite, but curved in all the places that men fantasized about. Her eyes seemed to glow a clear blue even at the distance Reeve could seem them almost clearly.
"Who are you?" The girl demanded, her eyes bouncing like spears from him to his men.
Gael whistled lowly, his men shuffled from foot to foot. Yes, the girl in front of them was definitely a beauty, but she was far to young for any of his men to consider.
"If she looks like that, I can't wait to see the others." Mark was the youngest of their group and also the cockiest said. He believed himself to be the Romeo of all men.
"Not likely," the girl seethed. "I asked you a question," if possible the girl's body seemed to become even stiffer, her eyes darkening with deadly intent.
"My name is Alpha Reeve King," if he hadn't been watching her he wouldn't have noticed how much her shoulders relaxed at his name. "We were summoned here."
The girl looked at him for a long moment and then sent the children away. She waited until they were safely inside one of the houses before she gave him her attention again even though she had watched him from her paraphernal, "Alpha Reeve? Then you got the letter?" She asked, her voice unsure and still untrusting.
Before he could ask her any question or confirm that he was indeed Alpha Reeve a sound drew all their attention. A wolf burst through the clearing, all sleek fur that shimmered honey as it barreled toward them with canines bared.
"TEA NO!" The female yelled, surging forward to tackle to the honey-colored wolf.
The wolf nearly went down with the weight of the female but managed to dig in and stay upright. The female huffed, earning a warning growl from the wolf.
The wolf immediately turned her golden orbs towards them. Reeve could see the confidence in them even though she would be outnumbered and out strengthed.
A minute later, another wolf, much bigger and a dirty brown bound towards them. The honey-colored wolf shook the female off and turned. The male and female wolf met head-on, canine's snapping. The young female scream. Her fear making Reeve move just a bit closer to her in case he was needed.
"Tea!! Cameron!! What are you doing?!" The male seemed to take a moment to look at the female which only seemed to make the honey wolf angrier.
She sank her sharp canines into the side of his neck but released him when he jerked away. The male bunched up, preparing for another lunge when he finally seemed to notice Reeve, Troy, Joshua, Gael, Mark and Sean looming close.
With a huff, the male turned and limped away. Everyone was silent for a moment before the girl let out a sound that was suspiciously close to a sob.
"I told you I would handle it Teaghan! I told you to let me deal with it! You promised you would take it easy from now on." The girl cried, "are you trying to get yourself killed?"
With one last growl, the honey wolf shifted and stood, glaring down at the female who stayed on her knees, sniffling. "I was taking it easy thank you very much. It isn't my fault that Cameron and his goons jumped me!"
Without even and second to spare, the woman turned on Reeve and his men. "Who the hell are you and what are you doing here on Reed Territory?" Something that Teaghan should have asked first, something that she should have dealt with first but what was she to do when Cameron came after her the way he had?
Reeve could only stare and take in the breath-taking sight of her. His body seemed to warm then heat to blazing temperatures as he watched her eyes travel over him slowly, her eyes flaring with interest.
Mate. He knew instantly when he took her in. He wasn't sure why he hadn't realized it sooner, but perhaps, it was because he was taken a bit off guard watching a full grown male attack a female half his size. That reminder brought on fury.
