Teaghan knew she should just leave it up to Alpha Reeve to handle but she couldn't just sit there and let another Alpha do all the work. Mate or not, she was apart of the Reed pack.
"What can we do to help?" She asked, including Cecily.
Reeve was quiet for a moment, thinking. "I don't have anything for you to do at the moment. I need to speak with Alpha Steve first to see where his mindset is at and to see if it's even possible to get him to talk to me."
Teaghan nodded. She was so used to doing certain things it would be hard to break away from the two-year habit, but she would try. If she didn't she just knew Cecily would give her hell.
"I noticed when we walked in that there were very few pack members. Did something happen?" Reeve asked. This place was almost like a ghost town. Packs could be small sure, but he knew that Steve's pack hadn't been.
"When we fought two years ago several died, but since Alpha Steve locked himself away a lot more decided to move on. There are only about thirty or so members left within the territory," Teaghan admitted with a grimace.
"Teaghan," again the way he said her name had her immediate attention, "could you take Gael around the territory. Show him anything that needs to be watched, introduce him to the pack members that remain."
Teaghan looked to Gael then back to Alpha Reeve and nodded. "Cece, you'll be okay?"
Cecily scoffed, "I will be fine Tea. Stop worrying about me so much." It was said without any heat. She knew that no matter the circumstances that her sister would always look after her and worry. She hoped one-day Teaghan would be able to do things without having to account for her as well.
With a final nod, Teaghan lead Gael out of the room. Reeve waited for a while before he turned back to Cecily. The young female just stared at him, smiling.
"Got my sister away now, so what are you wanting to know?"
Intuitive little package, Reeve mused, "what makes you think that was my intention?"
Cecily raised her brow in mock question, "please. I've learned to pick up body language and listen. It helps when you and my sister are practically eye sexting right in front of me."
Reeve blinked at that feeling an unfamiliar heat crawling up his neck. "We weren't doing - that." At least he didn't think they had?
"Ask your questions, because I have questions of my own and if I know my sister she won't stay away too long."
So many questions, "what is the deal with Cameron? He's Alpha Steve and Luna Maria's son, isn't he?"
Cecily nodded, "sure is."
"Why hasn't he taken over the responsibility of Alpha while Alpha Steve has been- occupied?"
"Cameron doesn't want the real responsibility that comes with Alpha. He wants to control the members, sure, but he doesn't want to do the paperwork, the finances, or any of that."
Reeve frowned, "and today what was that about?" He watched the young ones face and saw the brief flash of discomfort before it was gone.
"It's one of the controlling aspects I was talking about. He believes that being the Alpha's son comes with advantages, privileges. Females, in general, are apparently supposed to fall at his feet," Cecily gave a disgusted shutter.
"Unfortunately, I was his newest challenge. Tea is awake before me and she goes out to train and patrol which often left me here, alone." Cecily shrugged, ignoring the mounting fury that Reeve was trying to contain.
"Tea heard our yelling and figured it out. I haven't even gotten the details from Tea yet of what happened in the woods. You were here, remember?"
"I understand," more than anything he wanted to take Cameron apart. Abusing his power like that was unforgivable but right now he had to try and talk some sense into Alpha Steve.
"So you're aware, Teaghan is my mate. From now on you and she are under mine and my packs protection. If Cameron gives you any trouble, let me know." Reeves got a kick out of the shocked look on Cecily's face.
"No shit? Oh man! That's why she was acting so weird. She's always strict and honestly, it's like she has a stick up her ass most of the time, but since you, she's acting like the rug was pulled out from under her," Cecily nodded, "I see why now."
Reeve shook his head, chuckling. He liked Cecily, "how old are you, Cecily?"
Cecily looked up and smiled, "I'll be seventeen in a couple weeks."
Even though Reeve's knew she was young it was still somewhat hard to have it confirmed. She looked more mature and she acted much more mature, "and Teaghan?"
"She's twenty going on forty," Cecily muttered.
Reeve's laughed outright, "you've both had to grow up too quickly."
Cecily now turned towards him, squaring off with him and Reeve got the impression he was in for it now. "How old are you? When did you become Alpha? What kind of Alpha are you? How many are in your pack? How many women have you been with, I need to know as you said you're my sister's mate."
The questions were like a rapid-fire and Reeves fought to keep up. How could one little itty-bitty thing speak so quickly without breathing?
"I'm twenty-six. I became Alpha at the age of twenty-three. I believe I'm a fair Alpha if not a little strict. Depends on the situation and what's called for. I can't really relay the specific number but we're near eight hundred at least." Frowning he couldn't remember the other questions.
"How many women have you been with?" Cecily provided, her eyes narrowed.
"Hmm, in my whole life? One." He admitted honestly.
Cecily's eyes widened comically, "no way. I don't believe you."
Reeve nodded, "I swear it's the truth. I wasn't interested in all of that. I tried it once and that was that." He refused to be embarrassed. It was the truth this was his mate's sister and she wanted to know if he was trustworthy with her sister's happiness and it was admirable.
"But you look," her eyes swept over him quickly but with little interest. She was assessing him, he figured, "you look like that.. I just don't understand.." After admitting that she basically found him handsome she blushed brightly and looked away.
"I may look the way I do, but I don't randomly invite or accept invites from females."
"New question," she said quickly, "what do you plan to do now?" Clarifying she added, "with my sister. If you two are mates doesn't that mean she will be joining your pack?"
Reeve hadn't really thought about it, well he had, but he didn't figure on asking if she would follow him. In his mind and heart, he just figured it was a given. The question left him feeling a bit uncertain.
Would Teaghan accept the fact that she would have to follow him to his pack? He was Alpha and couldn't come to her. If he wasn't Alpha it wouldn't even be a concern.
