"So you're my Alpha's mate," Gael said as if he were speaking about the weather, continuing on and ignoring how Teaghan looked as if she had swallowed her tongue. "Which makes you our Luna."
Teaghan's body heated, it started at her neck and slowly rose to her face. She kept her head ducked because honestly, she didn't know what else to do at the moment.
"No reason to get all shy," Gael teased lightly.
"I am not shy! I just-" she just what? What could she say, she couldn't deny that Alpha Reeve was her mate, but while she had accepted that she hadn't accepted the fact that it would make her Luna to his pack.
"I think we should head back. I've shown you as much as possible," without waiting for Gael's reply she turned and quickly walked back the way they'd come.
She'd left Cecily alone long enough with Alpha Reeve. Teaghan refused to think of all the embarrassing things Cecily would tell him. All of the things that she didn't want him to know, not yet.
She didn't realize it but as she was thinking of all the things she didn't want said she had begun to run. By the time she burst through the front door and made it to the living room where she had left Alpha Reeve and Cecily she was panting lightly.
She paused when she saw only Cecily sitting on the couch, her eyes slowly looking around for where Alpha Reeve may have gone. "He isn't here," Cecily said with a glint of mischief in her eyes.
"Huh," Teaghan tried to act like she didn't know who she was talking about, but could tell by Cecily's look that she didn't fool her. "Well, where did he go?"
Cecily shook her head, "not so fast big sis. Come sit down and explain to me how you knew he was your mate."
Groaning, Teaghan sat down ungracefully. "I just did, it's hard to explain Cece."
"Try," Cecily demanded overly eager to learn about mates.
Teaghan sat there for a moment, thinking, trying to figure out the best possible way she could explain. "It's a feeling. I was overcome with heat, a heightened awareness of him, and quite honestly, my mind pretty much imagined every possible curve and bulge of muscle beneath his clothes.."
Teaghan shrugged, knowing how weird that may sound. She had imagined so much more than just what he may or may not look like but how he would feel beneath her fingers or her tongue. Yup, her mind went there.
She looked to Cecily because she had been so quiet, but noticed her sisters eyes wide and not looking at her but rather at something or someone behind her.
Dread filled Teaghan stomach as she turned to look over her shoulder. She thought it would be Gael or even Alpha Reeve standing there so when she found Cameron she blinked several times in confusion.
"I knew you were naughty, but damn, I didn't know your mind was that filthy."
Teaghan stood and turned towards Cameron, her lip peeled back in a silent snarl. "What do you want now Cameron? I believe you and I have already had our chat."
At the reminder of having his ass beat, Cameron sneered. "I came to tell you that I'll be formally taking over the position of Alpha," Cameron fed off of the bomb he had just dropped and the obviously mixed emotions Teaghan and Cecily felt.
"As such, Teaghan for assaulting the acting Alpha you'll be taken to the cells until I decide you've learned your lesson," before he had even stopped talking the two males that had tried to help Cameron earlier in the day came waltzing in.
Teaghan glared, her hatred burning through her veins. This was a trick, a ploy to weaken her and to separate her from Cecily.
Cecily bound out of her seat, "this is bullshit! You attacked her! You've never once wanted to take on the role of acting Alpha, not until Alpha Reeve and his warriors showed up. Why now? Why after two years?" Cecily's face had become red from her fury, "Teaghan can't be charged with assaulting an acting Alpha before so-called acting Alpha made his announcement!"
"Quiet Cece," Teaghan warned, "why don't you go find Gael or Alpha Reeve and let them know what happened." She was sure that Cameron hadn't heard all of what she said or else he wouldn't even try to lock her away. She just hoped that as his mate, Alpha Reeve would come quick.
Cameron's face broke out into a grin, "he can't help you Teaghan. You're a member of Reed pack. He has no authority here. Take her to the cells, gag her if you need too."
Cecily tried to follow but Cameron grabbed hold of her arm and stopped her. When Teaghan has dragged out the front door, Cecily jerked out of his hold. "You won't get away with this," she promised.
She had to find Alpha Reeve, quickly. Fear slammed through her at the thought of what they'd do to Teaghan. She knew her sister and she knew she would just irritate them until they snapped.
