Chapter 3: Forgotten Fire
Nathanial's POV:
17th century
"Looks like the Observer has finally arrived." Nathanial could hear the vampire counsel make a remark as he walked in. He really didn't care much; he knew all they wanted was a fight and Nathanial was in no mood to give them one. Nathanial made his way to the back where all the lesser demons, vampires, witches, and werewolves were seated. The vampire prince gestured for him to come forth and sit beside him but Nathanial ignored his request. Nathanial wasn't a fool who will just sit beside the vampire prince when every alpha of every werewolf clan is present. Not to mention in the presence of the Demon Lord and the Dark Queen. The underworld believes they are different from humans. However, to Nathanial, all of them were just power hungry creatures. If Nathanial sat beside the vampire prince then the next thing would be an all-out war between werewolves and vampires. Having him take a side is the ultimate win. He was something they weren't and something that they wished to be. Nathanial set upon a rock and watched as the gathering took place.
Demon Lord Nazareth arose from his throne to speak on behalf of the demons and warlocks. The demons were the most powerful beings of the underworld. They were powerful, magical, and the most strategist out of them all. They were the first of the beings to exist in the underworld and everyone else came from their dark bloodline. Nathanial knew Nazareth for a long time. He had a big mouth and too much ambition to destroy the human race. He despised the human race so much that he will go to an extent to sacrifice himself to destroy the humans. In the past, he came close but Nathanial became the blockade to his unfulfilled desire. But Nazareth is nothing without Nathanial, he is the only survivor of that night. Nathanial still didn't know why he spared him all those years ago. He is the only one who knows his past.

The flames set upon Nathanial had died and he laid there covered in ash. Everyone had left assuming he was dead and their suffering forever gone with him. He allowed them to burn him hoping his own sins would burn away but his heart was still crying and hurting as if holding on to something. Nanthanial began to get up with the little bit of energy he had left. It was for the best that he left this place for good and never returned. As the ashes moved from his body, he was once again clothed by the winds. Nathanial began to walk away when he heard footsteps behind him.
"You are worse than those humans, how can you let them burn you and you walk away without taking revenge. This is what happens when you help those filthy lowlife humans." Nanthanial knew this being, he had spared his life, he was Nazareth. Nazareth stood behind him in his human form. He had a white toga on and looked as if he was a prince. Yet one can tell he was no human, his red eyes gave it away. He was as human as the flesh that covered him, his soul never was born.
"You are the one to claim humans are filthy creatures yet you come in front of me in your human form," Nathanial smirked. He could see the annoyance in Nazareth's eyes, which was enough for him to swoop down on Nazareth and grab his throat. Nathanial pushed Nazareth to the ground waiting for him to fight back. Nazareth remained emotionless and stared back at Nathanial without hesitation and let his disguise fall away. Now everyone can truly see the demon that he really is.
His whole body was covered in black rags and from the rags, his cut flesh can be seen. Worms and unknown insects crawled all over his raw flesh of a body. He was really a true being of hell. He smiled to reveal all his fangs. Nathanial wanted to kill him, but he was bound by his job, he had already killed way too many of their kind. He had defied he who wrote the destinies by killing creatures like him.
"You won't kill me, I know. The fact that you raised your hands on me is enough to give it away. If you wanted to kill me, you could have done it without laying a finger upon me. I have already seen how you killed the Master." Nazareth smiled seeing the perplexed look on Nathanial's face. Nathanial let his arms drop to the side. He was right Nathanial wasn't going to kill him.
"Leave me, I have nothing to do with your kind or the humans. I will be leaving Constantinople tonight. Don't try to follow me." Nathanial stood up, turning away from Nazareth. In the darkness of the night he knew this will never be written in history. The death will continue, but no one will ever remember him, nor her.
"You can't just vanish after showing your existence to us. We will be keeping a close eye on you from now on. It is better that you keep us by your side that way you won't repeat the same mistake." Nazareth declared as he vanished into the night. Nathanial looked at that night sky as if questioning the cosmos. He didn't know Him, but he knew He watched him. Nathanial's existence was once again erased from Time.
___________flashback ends_____________
17th Century:
Once again, Nathanial remembered the past that he wanted to forget. Why it is the thing you want to hide from, always finds a way to return? His past isn't something that he should hold on if he has to keep up with the present and the future. He looked around the room surrounded by demons, vampires, and witches. To everyone here, he was G-d, even though none of them ever believed in one. Nathanial wasn't G-d, he was the servant who was given the task to live among His creations and observe them. This was his duty, which he will be judged on. If a demon or a human is given the chance to be a god, they can go along playing G-d. However, a true believer would live eternity being a demon than to take the place of G-d. If it came to, Nathanial was willing to play the role of a demon, but never G-d.
Nazareth was no longer that young man from the past. A demon can live for a long time but they age with time. His young human form is now replaced by an old man, but his red eyes still seemed young filled with unfulfilled dreams as the day Nathanial first met him.
"Observer, is there something you would like to add before I make the last announcement of the night." Nazareth stared directly at Nathanial. Nathanial kept his eyes on Nazareth and replied a no. Nazareth took his eyes off him as if in defeat.
"I have been the Demon Lord for the last millennium, but it is the time that someone new took my place. My son Zareth will be the new Demon Lord and he will be in charge of the demon race." Beside Nazareth, a young demon stood up. His demon form wasn't even threatening as his fathers'. Yet in many ways, his presence is something one cannot ignore. His face was covered by a black hood and his whole body in a cloak. Without even revealing his face, he said.

"Demons and the citizens of the underworld it is the time that the last wish of Master is fulfilled." Everyone gasped as the Master's name was taken out but Nathanial was the first one to get up on his feet. The next thing that silenced everyone was Nathanial's hands around Zareth's throat and him pushed against the cavern walls. All were confused by how fast Nathanial had moved, but time was by his side. Zareth's hood fell from his face and his stare was captured within Nathanial's glowing blue eyes. Unlike his father, Zareth's eyes showed fear.
"The Master is dead and his plans died with him." Nathanial crushed his teeth together. He was ready to kill Zareth. He will not let the past repeat again, even though he had no right to stop this act if it is written by G-d. Nazareth placed his hand on Nathanial's shoulder.
"The kid is just new he is referring to the grand dream to remove the humans. He has no means to do with the Master; no one can take the Master's place." Nathanial unwrapped his hand from Zareth's throat and pushed Zareth away as he turned to face Nazareth.
"Your son has no right to mention the Master. I think I had enough of this meeting, I will be leaving." Nathanial said as he pushed Nazareth and other councils aside. He had enough of tonight. First his dream and now this.
"But Observer even if the Master's plans are mentioned, as an Observer you have no right to take our decision for us. God hasn't allowed that act if I do recall the past events." Nazareth said as he smiled. He was right after all; Nathanial had no right to take their decisions. He didn't know what was destined. Nathanial walked away from the meeting without another word.

Demon Lord's Layer
Once the meeting ended and everyone had left after the scene that had taken place between Zareth and the observer. Zareth made his way to his father's chamber to talk alone.
"Father why did you let the Observer leave without killing him and cutting him into pieces and feed him to the lesser demons," Zareth said. He was silenced by the loud smack of his father's hand on his raw fleshed cheeks. Zareth wiped away the blood from his cheek, where his father smacked him.
"You insolent demon, how can a fool like you be my son. If the Observer hadn't stopped you there, I would have killed you myself. The Observer mustn't know about the grand plan." Nazareth said as he pushed his son to the ground.
"A grand plan you say huh. May we be included." said the Vampire Prince as he entered the room with the Dark Queen. Nazareth despised the lesser beings of the underworld as much as he despised the humans. The Dark Queen walked past both Nazareth and Vampire Prince and crouched down on the ground to help Zareth up.
"I am the Dark Queen but you can call me Henima and the Vampire prince over there, his name is Jared. You can consider us your allies." Henima finished as she smiled at the new Demon Lord Zareth. Nazareth wasn't the only one who knew the past and the Master.

Mountain Edge Outside:
Once again, Nathanial was alone. He was the Observer by name living among humans as their own, but he wasn't anyone. His existence didn't matter but he had to live on. In the darkness of the night, Nathanial could see that dawn was approaching. That rising sun was like any other rising sun, however, at that moment Nathanial wanted to stop time and observe the sun and thus what he did. Frozen as a painting everything stopped not even a breeze moved for the minute Nathanial had let time stop. The only thing that was moving was him. Nathanial was moving as time itself and at that moment he unfroze time once again.
Below the mountain's edge, Nathanial could see the horse. Rasco was waiting for him. As Nathanial approached, Rasco let his guard down. Nathanial placed himself up on Rasco and made his way back to the estate. For the time being the Observer must become the stable boy and attend to his duty.
