Chapter 34
We open up to about three days later, the war against the Demon Army has been going.... slowly.
Mainly because of how the psychological maneuvers the Marines and Air Force were doing to insure fear in demons worked out too well.
Sure it clear out any straggling innocent villagers and townsfolk out of Demon Army occupied villages and towns. But for the three days soldiers, airmen, Marines, sailors, Demi-Humans, URK Army soldiers, Knights, tribesmen, witches and wizards, vampires, Fairies, etc were doing nothing but evacuations of innocent people.
Yes it's a good deed and they enjoyed the praises and wishes for great successful futures.
But they were bored. No action. Just. Completely. Bored.
Their expectations of intense combat or significant engagements had been replaced by a prolonged period of tedious but necessary evacuations.
As days passed without any significant action against the Demon Army, the troops grew restless. The initial adrenaline and enthusiasm for the mission began to wane, replaced by a palpable sense of boredom. Routine tasks and constant evacuations of innocent civilians became the norm, leaving many longing for some form of engagement or purposeful activity.
Conversations among the troops, Demi-Humans, and other beings involved in the operation echoed a common sentiment of eagerness for action.
"Man, when are we gonna get to the real stuff?"
"I didn't sign up for a babysitting mission!"
"I'm starting to miss those peanut and onion runs!"
The yearning for some action or combat scenarios grew stronger with each passing day. Troops, used to the thrill of the mission and the urgency of battle, found themselves in a peculiar state of impatience, craving the intensity of the battlefield.
Despite the noble nature of their current task, the monotony was taking its toll, leaving many eager for a change in the situation, yearning for the chance to actively confront the Demon Army and put their skills to use.
We then go to the command center where we see Lieutenant General William R. Cole on his desktop.... playing minesweeper.
Okay he was bored too-
"Excuse me, sir?" A Japanese Marine Corps 1st Lieutenant named Yoji Itami said and knocked on the door.
Cole immediately switched off the game to something else and stared at the man, "Yeah, what is it?"
"Permission to speak freely and enter, sir?" Itami said as Cole motioned him to enter his office.
Itami stepped in and saluted before addressing General Cole, "Sir, the troops have been anxious. They're eager for action. The waiting, the evacuations... it's taking its toll on morale."
Cole leaned back in his chair, nodding slowly. "I get it, Lieutenant. It's not what any of us expected. Boredom in a warzone ain't exactly a textbook scenario."
"Yes, sir. I thought perhaps organizing some training exercises or drills might help keep morale up. It could keep everyone sharp and ready, sir," Itami suggested.
Cole considered the idea for a moment, tapping his fingers on the desk. "You might be onto something there, Lieutenant. Let's make it happen. Get the word out. Let's turn this downtime into something productive."
Itami saluted again. "Understood, sir. I'll make the arrangements immediately."
As Itami turned to leave, Cole called after him, "And Lieutenant?"
"Yes, sir?"
"Thanks for speaking up. This downtime's been killing us all."
Itami nodded respectfully and exited the office, ready to implement some activities to keep the troops engaged and prepared during the lull in the conflict.
Just then we see a URK Army Scout Officer Squirrel Demi-Human rush in with a smile, "Sir! I think some guy who was a runaway slave just gave out an idea!"
Cole and Itami looked at the squirrel man with raised eyebrows as he then called out to a female raccoon Demi-Human URK Army Scout Fighter to bring a man with baggy eyes, messy hair and burn markings on his arms.
Cole gave the Scout Officer a look, "What the hell? Do you mind explaining?"
The man spoke with a bit of hate, "Those demons killed my wife and family and made me and many others into slaves. The only reason I'm here is because I managed to runaway with the help of others and found people being evacuated. The burns are a marking to the demon woman and man generals that occupied the town I'm at."
Cole sat in silence as he and a couple of other officers listened. The man continued, "I suggest that have about four of your troops and one bat demi-human to disguise themselves as demons while I use a horse drawn carriage filled with hay to hide any of your weapons."
"So in other words. A surprise attack on the demon army that is controlling your town?" Cole said getting gist of it.
"Yes."
Itami then spoke up, "How large is your town?"
The man looked over at the map of the entire continent in Cole's office. He walked towards it dragging his finger until stopping at a very large port town/city on the map, "This large."
Cole looked at size of the city port with wide eyes, "The size of that port alone can fit two carrier strike groups..." Cole muttered in shock and surprise as he turned to the man, "Now I'm wondering, what does the Demon Army is plans on using such a large port for?"
The man hesitated before responding, "I... I'm not entirely sure, sir. But I've overheard talks about shipments of something... something important enough to utilize the port extensively. They've been fortifying it, establishing control over trade routes, and I've seen shipments arrive, but I couldn't discern their content."
Cole leaned forward, his expression growing more serious. "That's vital information. If they're fortifying and controlling a port that size, there's something significant going on. We need to find out what it is."
The URK Army Scout Officer interjected, "Sir, if we take this opportunity and surprise them, we might just uncover what they're hiding. It could be the breakthrough we need."
Cole nodded firmly. "Alright. Set it up. But be cautious. We can't afford to alert them prematurely."
The man with the burn markings nodded in agreement. "I understand, sir. But we need to act fast. They have plans for the port, and it can't be anything good."
Cole gave a brisk nod. "We'll move swiftly. Get your disguise plan ready and your carriage prepared. Lieutenant, get a team together. This might just be the break we've been waiting for."
Itami saluted sharply. "Yes, sir! I'll assemble the team and make the necessary arrangements."
The man with the burn markings was ushered out by the Scout Officer as Cole leaned back in his chair, a new sense of urgency spreading through the command center. The prospect of uncovering the Demon Army's plans at the large port city provided a glimmer of hope in the otherwise stagnant situation.
A little while later, we see David, Sook, a Russian Army soldier, a Ukrainian Marine Corps Vampire, and a URK Ranker Female Bat Demi-Human getting dressed up in wigs, outfits, fake horns, and skin painted either purple or dark blue.

"Looking good, Sook!" Chris jokingly called out as she just rolled her eyes while a fairy does the make-up.
The Russian soldier grumbled, "I feel ridiculous in this outfit."
The Ukrainian Marine Corps Vampire echoed the sentiment, "This isn't how I imagined using my military training."
David stepped in, "I get it, but this mission's crucial. We have a chance to make a difference. If we succeed, we could save countless lives."
The seriousness in David's voice made them pause, understanding the gravity of the situation. They straightened up, ready to tackle the task at hand, even if it meant wearing disguises that felt absurd.
The fairies and female elves meticulously put the finishing touches on the disguises:
David: With a shock of auburn hair, longer and tousled than usual, he sported prosthetic horns that curved slightly backward. His outfit mimicked demon attire, complete with dark hues and intricate patterns.
Sook: Her usually sleek hair was transformed into a wild, wavy purple mane cascading down her shoulders. Purple face paint highlighted her faux horns, complementing the dark attire that enhanced her rebel demeanor.
Russian Soldier: A blond wig adorned his head, paired with a set of horns that sat at an angle. His outfit was a mix of different shades of blue and black, echoing a more subdued demon guise.
Ukrainian Marine Corps Vampire: His hair was slicked back, and dark blue face paint accentuated his fake horns. The outfit matched his tall, sleek frame, creating an intimidating and formidable appearance.
URK Ranker Female Bat Demi-Human: Her hair, adorned with subtle purple highlights, was styled to frame her face, complementing the dark blue skin paint. The ensemble was fitted and elegant, reflecting her bat-like nature with winged accents.
As they stood there, the transformation was remarkable, each individual unrecognizable in their demon personas.
Lieutenant General Cole gathered everyone around, drawing attention to the undercover team about to embark on their risky mission.
"Listen up, folks!" Cole's voice carried across the room. "We've got a vital mission underway, and these brave individuals are stepping up to get us a crucial peek behind enemy lines. They'll be heading into enemy territory, masquerading as demons."
He pointed to each member of the team as he announced their code names:
"Fernandes, you're Alpha-1. Jang, you'll be Alpha-2. Lev, you're Alpha-3. Bauer, Alpha-4. And Tao, you're Alpha-5."
Cole looked at them sternly but encouragingly, his gaze passing over each one in turn. "Your objective is to gather intel, assess the situation, and report back. We're counting on you."
He paused for a moment before continuing, his voice firm. "Remember, the safety of innocents and your own lives comes first. Get in, gather what you can, and get out. Any questions?"
The team shook their heads, ready and determined for the mission ahead. With a final nod from Cole, they headed out, each mentally preparing for the risky task ahead.
30 hours later, a satellite tracks the five in port city called Ebi-Yuli, as the man drives the horse drawn carriage filled with hay. The five are wearing stab proof vests under their disguises, and weapons are cocked and locked ready under the hay.
"С нами Бог." The Russian soldier named Igor Lev prayed silently. All around them were demons of all types.
"Man, there are a lot of succubi here." The Ukrainian Marine Vampire named Don Bauer said as looked around.
The URK Ranker Female Bat Demi-Human named Rui Tao sighs, "These accents on my wings itches." She said quietly.
David then looked around at the buildings then turned towards the man, "Which building did you break out from exactly?" The man points towards a large stockade like building.
"That looks like a prison." Sook said.
"It was a prison. To house any bandits or criminals. Now it houses the lesser slaves of this city." The man spoke with a sadden look.
"'Lesser slaves'?" David questioned.
The man explains, "People like demi-humans and low-class folks like myself."
Rui wanted to know something, "Then what are higher slaves?"
As the man maneuvered the horse-drawn carriage through the crowded streets, he explained, "Higher slaves are usually those deemed more valuable-strategists, scientists, healers, even certain powerful demi-humans. They're kept under heavier guard, often utilized for their skills by the demon commanders."
Sook's expression turned grim. "And how are they treated?"
The man's voice hardened with anger. "Horribly. The demons subject them to brutal conditions, often using them for their abilities while neglecting their well-being. It's a grim reality."
David scanned the area, looking for a suitable spot to initiate their plan. "We need to find a way to get to those higher slaves and gather information."
As they continued their journey, weaving through the busy streets, the tension among the team grew palpable. They knew the risks and the importance of their mission, especially in a city teeming with demons and enslaved individuals. Their disguises held, but the weight of their true purpose was a constant reminder of the perilous task ahead.
"Alright, right here is fine." The carriage stops as David readied his M4A1 and turned to face his group, reminding them, "Remember hide your traits." Igor and Rui who were the ones closest stepped right off the carriage and David, Don and Sook followed them. The group of five stepped off the carriage and was greeted by the view of dozens of demons standing in front of them, just minding their own business.
Sook turned her gaze towards David who was standing beside her and saw him aim his M4A1 at the demons in front of them, with Don, Igor and Rui doing the same shorty after. She followed their example and aimed her Daewoo K3 light machine gun at the group of demons standing in front of them.
The demons turned their gaze towards the armed group of five standing in front of them before David, Sook, Don, Igor, and Rui all fired their weapons at them. The some demons quickly reached for their weapons, intending to protect their fellow demons from the five, but unfortunately never had a chance to use them as they were one of the first ones to die.
The demons started dropping like flies, as the ones that were in the back of the massive group started fleeing from the five, attempting to save their own lives.
Sook ceased fire and so did the rest of the group when all of the demons they just opened fire at laid on the ground, either dead or wounded. She reloaded her half emptied gun before the group of five walked.
David looked at the man, "Go to any of the buildings housing the slaves and free them. We'll deal with the demons. With our disguises, they'll hardly trust each other and assume that anyone in their ranks is a traitor."
"Got it." The man said as he hurried off.
Sooj walked right behind David, seeing over his shoulder how the demons that were alarmed by their shooting started running up some stairs that were leading to a upper level, wanting to get away from the armed five as far away as they could.
She turned her gaze to the right when she saw how David aimed his gun at something on that side. She spotted how three succubi that were presumably watching the scene flee out of a house, running for their lives, but unfortunately they never made it to a safe place as David took all three of them out.
It was when the entire group of five turned to the few people who remained on this level. All of them had their hands raised in the air, hoping that they will leave them be, praying for it.
A bigger demon didn't seem to care about that, though and killed them. Igor and Rui opened fire at the bigger demon and it was just a matter of seconds before the huge beast died.
Sook turned her gaze away from the lifeless bodies and turned it towards the set of stairs ahead of her and the rest of the group.
"Up the stairs. Go." David ordered his group, beginning to make his way to the upper level.
His group followed him up the stairs and after a few seconds reached the area that was filled with broken stores and saw demons running away from them. Igor was the first one from his group to open fire at them and the rest followed. The demons started dying, one by one, before the group of five started to make their way through the area.
As they proceeded to walk forward, a female voice sounded, "Come out and surrender! Resistance is futile! In which case, we will kill each and every one of you!"
Sook turned away from a bookstore she just passed by and glanced down at the wounded demon who is laying on the ground, slowly bleeding to death. It was when she heard someone firing their machine gun on her left. She turned to the source of it and saw Don who had his PKP Pecheneg on the railing as he was firing at demons from above.
She turned her gaze back towards David who was walking with Igor and Rui. At the same time one demon leaned out of his cover and attempted to kill at least one of the five, but Rui took care of him before he could even fire his dark magic at them. His lifeless body collapsed on the ground.
It was followed by three more demons popping out of their covers, all of them wielding dark swords, but they never had a chance to do anything and it was just a matter of seconds before they joined all of the dead demons on the ground as Don removed his gun from the railing and catched up to the rest of the group.
The group of five turned to the left when a build with ten demons inside. David pulled out a grenade and threw it into, making the demons inside panic. The two of them started searching for it as the third one must have realized that there was no time to throw it away. She was about to jump out of the building, but the grenade exploded, killing her and everyone else inside. The building came crashing down.
"Let's go." David said as his group started making their way down the stairs to the lower level, spotting evil dragons flying above while doing so, which was followed by the sound of roars and warcries coming from the distance.
The group made it to the lower level and started making their way through it, passing bodies of the demons that they just neutralized. The group moved out of the open area and stopped in front of a fountain, watching how the demons and higher demons were coming.
"They're right on time." David remarked, "Check your weapons and ammo."
"I've waited a long time for this." Rui spoke up, reloading her RPK.
"Haven't we all?" Igor chuckled to which David and Sook nodded in agreement.
The group of five walked pass the fountain and walked down a set of stairs which led them to a large building's doors. David opened it with a kick and walked through the now opened entrance, "This way. Let's go!"
They entered the building that had its walls covered with artwork and walked through it for several seconds before reaching a very wide exit from it, which was giving them a pretty good look at the area ahead of them, but their view was soon blinded because the area ahead of them was engulfed in smoke.
"For the innocents." David said, exiting the building.
It was when a line of armored demons came out of the smoke behind them. All of them were crouching down and were holding shields in front of themselves, protecting themselves from anyone that was going to open fire at them.
"Take them out." David ordered, switching to his M203 grenade launcher attachment.
He didn't had to repeat himself. Sook switched her weapon to a M32 grenade launcher. She fired at the demons but luckily for them, their shields protected from dying by the explosion. The explosion blinded them a bit, but they were still alive.
Unfortunately, their luck was short lived as David used the fact that they were blinded and fired from his own grenade launcher, killing most of them and his group made sure to take care of the rest while the smoke slowly died down.
Sook switched her grenade launcher back to her K3 as they all moved forward as more demons, this time without shields, opened fire at them. The group of five quickly hid behind whichever cover they could find at this moment and returned fire. The gunfight didn't last long and it was just a matter of time before all of the demons laid on the ground, dead.
She was about to move forward but stopped herself from doing so when she heard someone firing dark magic at them. She slightly leaned out of her cover and couldn't spot anyone firing at her from the ground level. She looked up at a building ahead of her and spotted a few demon mages firing at her from the second floor windows.
The rest of the group noticed their presence as well because all of them turned their attention towards them. All five them returned fire at the demons. Sook slowly leaned out of her cover and aimed her K3 at one demon that had his attention focused on David. She fired her weapon at him and hit him straight in the head, killing him instantly while Don, Igor, and Rui took care of the other demons.
The group moved forward again and a evil dragon arrived at the scene just a few seconds later. The armored demons started getting themselves ready, but didn't even had a chance to do anything as the evil dragon was blown up by David and Sook who fired their grenade launchers' at it. Then, two frag grenades hit a group of higher demons at the same time, causing the explosion that killed all of them.
They moved under a building, passing the dead evil dragon and all of the bodies around it before another evil dragon arrived. It was when they ran out of their luck, though, because Igor threw a flashbang their way. It landed behind the shield wielding demons, the explosion blinded their vision, and David's group used it to their advantage. Taking all of them out before they could regain their vision. Including the evil dragon.
"This way, let's go." David declared as he started running towards one place with his group following him, passing bodies of the demons that they just took out. His group followed him into a small area and stopping in front of a single doors. He slowly opened them and took a quick peek inside before walking through the now opened entrance, "Hallway clear."
He and the group could hear the same female voice from before to see a demon woman, bare shoulder black dress, bat ears, wings, very long black hair, parted bangs, red sclera, yellow eyes, slit pupils, forehead mark, long eyelashes, wine red lipstick, sharp teeth, a golden head piece, and pale skin.

It was the demon woman general that man talked about.
David, Sook, Don, Igor, and Rui hid their weapons and played along with the other panicking demons running around. Thanks to their disguises they were passing by with ease.
"Okay, let's find that intel." David whispered as the demon woman general starts barking orders not noticing the five pass by unnoticed.
Moving discreetly through the area, they scanned for any signs or clues that might lead to the sought-after intelligence. Each member remained vigilant, searching for any documents, conversations, or strategic indications that could shed light on the Demon Army's plans for the port city.
Sook gestured subtly to a corridor veering off the main path, hinting at a potential area to explore. David nodded in acknowledgment, leading the team toward the corridor, their steps purposeful yet inconspicuous.
As they proceeded down the hallway, Igor spotted a set of doors ajar, a faint light emanating from within. Without a word, he motioned the group toward the partially open doors. Don and Rui stealthily moved closer, peeking inside to assess the situation.
Inside the room, they caught sight of a group of demons poring over what seemed to be maps and documents spread across a table. Their conversation, though hushed, hinted at strategic plans and shipments, indicating the importance of the information they held.
Don signaled to the rest, subtly motioning them closer to observe. David quietly joined them, assessing the scene and formulating a plan to gather the crucial data without alerting the demons to their presence.
With swift and coordinated movements, the team devised a strategy to acquire the documents. Rui, adept at stealth, positioned herself to create a diversion while the others readied themselves to swiftly grab the intel.
As Rui initiated the diversion, causing a minor disturbance at the opposite end of the room, David, Sook, Don, and Igor seized the opportunity. In a swift and coordinated maneuver, they darted into the room, swiftly retrieving the documents and maps before the demons could react.
With the intel secured, they silently made their way out of the room, slipping away undetected amidst the chaos. As they regrouped in a less crowded area, they carefully examined the acquired documents, hoping to unveil the crucial information about the Demon Army's plans for the port city.
Just as they were about to head off, David spots a cage in a room with interior exude opulence, adorned with ancient artifacts and sinister symbols, creating an ambiance of dark mystique.
When David got close he spots a Female Bat Demi-Human sitting in it.

He quickly unlocks the cage by rifle butting the lock with his M4A1 and carries the girl. Just as the five plus one could sneakily exit the building.
A dark magic barrier stops in their tracks. They turned around to see the demon woman regarded them with an inscrutable gaze. "Just what are you five doing," she demanded, her voice commanding their attention.
Sook secretly drops a IR strobe for a Gunship strike from the AC-17 Spectre III and AC-130J Ghostrider.
David held the rescued Bat Demi-Human protectively as the others readied themselves for the impending confrontation. The demon woman's gaze flickered between the group, her demeanor poised and unyielding.
"Release her at once," the demon woman commanded, her tone resolute and unwavering.
However, before anyone could respond, a thunderous roar filled the air as the distinctive sound of approaching gunships reverberated across the scene. The AC-17 Spectre III and AC-130J Ghostrider soared overhead, the formidable aircraft casting ominous shadows over the city.
Moments later, a series of deafening explosions shook the area as precision strikes from the gunships targeted specific points around the demon woman, creating chaos and distraction. The relentless barrage disrupted the magical barrier momentarily, giving the team a chance to react.
Seizing the opportunity, David led the group in a swift retreat, carrying the rescued Bat Demi-Human with them. They dashed through the pandemonium, utilizing the confusion caused by the airstrikes to make their escape from the building.
As they burst out into the open, they sprinted through the chaotic streets, taking advantage of the ensuing mayhem caused by the gunship strikes. The demon woman, momentarily disoriented by the sudden onslaught, struggled to maintain control amid the havoc unleashed by the airstrikes.
The team kept moving, utilizing the cover of the ongoing turmoil to navigate through the city, their objective now to evade the immediate danger and find a safe location to regroup and assess the acquired intel. The demon woman's commands were drowned out by the cacophony of destruction and panic, giving the team a chance to slip away from her grasp.
With their escape underway and the chaos of the gunship strikes continuing to unfold behind them, the team hurriedly made their way through the city, aiming to put distance between themselves and the tumultuous scene, seeking safety and an opportunity to analyze the obtained information.
A second later, the other demon generals came and saw the team. They were about to attack them when they got hit by a speeding USMC Cougar HE 6×6 sending them about thirty yards away.

The driver was none other then Chris as Artem opens the back door, "What the fuck you five staring at?! Let's go!!" Chris yelled at them.
"Navy is going to conduct a missile strike in 5min!" Artem added as he provides covering fire.
The demon generals, recovering from the impact, struggled to regain their footing as chaos erupted around them.
"Move, move, move!" David shouted, urging the team to react swiftly. With the demon generals momentarily stunned and Artem providing cover, the team wasted no time in boarding the vehicle.
Chris revved the engine, accelerating the vehicle away from the immediate danger. The team piled into the back, securing themselves as Artem continued to fend off any threats with suppressive fire, ensuring their safe getaway.
As they sped through the chaotic streets, the imminent threat of a Navy missile strike looming, Chris navigated the Cougar HE 6×6 expertly, maneuvering through the turmoil of the city. The urgency of the situation was palpable, every passing second crucial as they raced against the impending strike.
"Brace yourselves!" Chris yelled over the noise of the vehicle's engine, anticipating the strike as they sought a safer location away from the imminent danger zone.
Artem's cover fire provided a momentary shield as the vehicle evaded obstacles, hurtling away from the area that would soon become a target. The impending missile strike added urgency to their escape, driving them to find shelter and safety from the impending devastation.
With Artem maintaining cover and Chris skillfully navigating the Cougar HE 6×6 through the chaotic streets, the team pushed forward, determined to outrun the impending Navy strike and find refuge before the impending destruction descended upon the city.
As the team sped through the tumultuous cityscape, Artem's relentless cover fire provided a protective shield around the vehicle, allowing them to navigate through the chaos. The looming threat of the impending Navy missile strike intensified their urgency, each passing moment crucial in their escape.
Chris expertly maneuvered the USMC Cougar HE 6×6, weaving through debris-strewn streets and evading incoming obstacles. The countdown to the missile strike continued, heightening the tension within the vehicle.
"Get ready! Hold on tight!" Chris shouted above the roar of the engine, determination etched on his face as he skillfully guided the vehicle toward the outskirts of the city.
Artem's suppressive fire held off any pursuit, creating a narrow window for their escape as the seconds ticked away. The team, bracing themselves against the vehicle's movements, clung to their seats, their focus solely on outrunning the imminent danger.
With seconds to spare, the USMC Cougar HE 6×6 surged past the city limits, leaving the chaotic urban landscape behind. The deafening roar of the incoming Navy missile strike echoed in the distance, a testament to the narrow escape they had just achieved.
As they cleared the city's boundaries, a collective sigh of relief swept through the team. Adrenaline still coursing through their veins, they glanced back at the receding cityscape, witnessing the impending destruction from a safe distance.
"Everyone okay?" David called out, his voice slightly strained from the adrenaline rush.
"Yeah, we made it out just in time," Sook replied, relief evident in her voice.
Artem, catching his breath, nodded in confirmation. "That was close. Glad we got out when we did."
Chris, hands steady on the wheel, couldn't hide the sense of relief on his face. "We're in the clear now. Let's find a safe spot and regroup."
With the danger behind them, the team took a moment to collect themselves, the reality of their narrow escape sinking in. They scanned the horizon, grateful to have evaded the imminent destruction and eager to regroup, strategize, and determine their next course of action in the ongoing battle against the Demon Army.
