Chapter 35
Five days had elapsed since the daring escape from the Demon Army's clutches. In the relative safety of their base, David, Sook, Don, Igor, and Rui had shed their disguises, returning to their usual appearances. The rescued Female Bat Demi-Human, now recovering under their care, sat with David in the base's canteen, surrounded by a supportive atmosphere.
David, seated across from her, held a bowl of pudding, offering it to her with a gentle smile. "Here, this should help with your strength," he said softly, encouraging her to eat.
The Bat Demi-Human, still visibly shaken from her ordeal, looked at the pudding with a mix of uncertainty and gratitude. She tentatively accepted the bowl from David, taking small, cautious bites while stealing glances at the people around her.
Sook, seated nearby, offered a reassuring smile to the young Bat Demi-Human. "Don't worry, you're safe here. Take your time and eat at your own pace," she said, her tone gentle and comforting.
Don, Igor, and Rui, seated at adjacent tables, glanced over occasionally, silently conveying their support and solidarity with their presence.
As the Bat Demi-Human ate, David engaged her in a soft-spoken conversation, aiming to ease her apprehension. "Do you have any family or friends you're hoping to reunite with?" he asked, his voice warm and sympathetic.
The Bat Demi-Human paused, her gaze momentarily distant, as memories seemed to flood her thoughts. She nodded slowly, speaking softly, "Yes, my family... they were taken away by the demons... I hope they're still alive..."
David nodded empathetically. "We'll do everything we can to find them and ensure your safety," he assured her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
Sook chimed in, "We've dealt a significant blow to the Demon Army. With our continued efforts, we might uncover more information that could lead to finding your family."
The Bat Demi-Human looked up, a glimmer of hope in her eyes as she met their sincere gazes. She nodded, a silent thank you evident in her expression as she continued to eat the pudding, feeling a sense of comfort and support from the group surrounding her.
As they sat together in the canteen, a bond began to form-a bond forged through shared experiences, empathy, and a mutual determination to confront the challenges ahead, united in their mission to bring an end to the Demon Army's tyranny and provide hope and safety to those affected by their cruelty.
"Speaking of a significant blow," said the voice of Anthony who came up to the six's table. "that intel you guys picked up really helped. It even helped us taking that city port just now. Now we have a Navel port."
The group smiled hearing the news when the Bat Demi-Human looked up at Anthony with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, "Did any them find my family?"
Confused, he pulled out a tablet that had the registered names of the refugees and former slaves the all rescued/saved/evacuated. He looked at the Bat Demi-Human, "Your name?"
She was a bit confused, "My name?"
Anthony explained, "I just need to know your name to check if any of your family was either rescued, saved, or evacuated to this Base as they put their names in the registry incase any families that got separated and want to reunite with them."
The Bat Demi-Human nodded, understanding the purpose of Anthony's inquiry. With a gentle voice, she replied, "My name is Hana."
Anthony quickly tapped on the tablet, navigating through the registry of names. His eyes scanned the screen, searching for any matches. After a few moments, he paused, looking at the screen intently.
"Hana... Yes, we have a few individuals registered under the same family name," Anthony said, his tone cautious yet hopeful. "There's a possibility they might be your family."
Hana's heart raced with anticipation as she leaned closer, her eyes fixed on the tablet screen. The group around her offered silent encouragement, hoping for a positive outcome.
Anthony continued scrolling through the list, cross-referencing details and locations. Finally, he found a match. "Here," he said, tapping on a specific entry. "We have individuals with the same family name as yours. They were among the evacuees who arrived here."
Relief washed over Hana's face as she listened intently. "Can I see them?" she asked, her voice filled with both anticipation and nervousness.
"Of course," Anthony replied warmly. "Let me arrange that for you."
He swiftly made a call on his radio, arranging for Hana to meet her family members. Within minutes, another member of the base staff arrived, guiding Hana to a separate area where her family awaited.
The group at the table exchanged smiles, sharing in Hana's joy and relief. David turned to Anthony, expressing their gratitude. "Thank you for your help, Anthony. This means a lot to her."
Anthony nodded, a genuine smile on his face. "Glad we could be of assistance. The teamwork here makes a real difference."
As Hana departed with the staff member, a sense of hope and accomplishment lingered at the table. Amidst the chaos of their mission, a moment of reunion and happiness for Hana was a reminder of the impact of their efforts and the importance of their unity in aiding those affected by the conflict.
Just as the two left, a URK Army Female Orc Scout Junior Leader named Beatrice Grace came.

A Scout Junior Leader is the rank equivalent to a 2nd Lieutenant.
"What's up, Grace?" Anthony asked.
"Lieutenant General Cole wants 80% of both the Armies and Marines to gear up, Captain Towson." Beatrice said and continued, "Apparently, a large congregation of the Demon Army occupies on agriculture lands and plenty of farm like areas North of here. He said that if we take that area, which is the size of Delaware. We can cripple the Demon Army's food supply."
"Which in turn they'll have to resort to using what they have from their portal realm. Which will take longer to distribute to their ranks and make it easier for the Air Force to hit their supply runs." Anthony clarified at Cole is doing to accomplish this mission.
"But isn't 240,000 which is 80% of both the Armies and Marines a little to much?" Rui asked as she only knew about the first battle between the demons and humans and demi-humans from the troops that fought them.
David answered Rui as he fought in that battle, "Not really, Tao. Because the number that was sent to fight was 260,000. So in this situation now is just 20K off from the amount before."
Beatrice nodded in understanding, acknowledging David's point. "Precisely. It's a strategic move to match their previous engagement force to maintain a similar level of impact and, hopefully, success."
Anthony leaned back in his chair, processing the information. "Looks like we're gearing up for another significant push. Taking control of their agricultural lands could indeed deal a severe blow to their resources."
Sook, reviewing the situation, voiced her concern, "But won't such a large-scale mobilization attract attention? The Demon Army might anticipate our move and prepare a defense."
Beatrice considered this for a moment. "That's a possibility. But we've seen in the past that they struggle to mobilize swiftly in response to our strategic advancements. If we move fast and decisively, we might catch them off guard."
Don nodded in agreement. "Hitting their food supply would create chaos within their ranks. It's a critical move that could give us a significant advantage."
Igor chimed in, "This might be the opportunity we need to weaken their foothold and gain momentum in this conflict."
Anthony looked around at the group, a determined expression on his face. "Alright, let's prepare for this operation. Coordinate with Lieutenant General Cole's plan and get our forces ready. We move swiftly, execute effectively, and aim for success."
Beatrice saluted. "Understood, sir. I'll relay the orders and ensure our units are mobilized and prepared for the operation."
With a shared sense of purpose, the group began planning and organizing, knowing the importance of this mission in further disrupting the Demon Army's hold and pushing the conflict in their favor.
The next two days we see the 240K Soldiers and Marines about 1.2 miles away from the agricultural lands waiting for the morning sunrise the commence the assault.
To most of everyone's surprise, Lieutenant General Cole is also there among the troops.
A URK Army Female Cyclops Scout Staff Officer Second Class named Hannah Ava came up to the Black-American Lieutenant General.

A Scout Staff Officer Second Class is the rank equivalent to a Lieutenant Colonel.
"Sir. Isn't dangerous for someone of your rank be on the frontlines?" Hannah asked Cole with concern for the man's well-being.
Cole just chuckles, "True. But what's better than having your senior commander be on the frontlines with his troops? Is your senior commander also leading the charge of the assault before anyone."
This shocked and surprised everyone that heard the man.
The troops were taken aback by Lieutenant General Cole's decision to lead the charge himself. His resolve to stand alongside his soldiers in the forthcoming assault instilled a sense of determination and trust among the ranks.
Hannah, though surprised, couldn't help but admire Cole's dedication and leadership. "Understood, sir. We'll have your back every step of the way."
As the morning sun began to cast its golden hues across the horizon, the soldiers and marines gathered their resolve, readying themselves for the imminent assault on the agricultural lands held by the Demon Army.
Lieutenant General Cole, standing among his troops, gave a nod of affirmation, a silent gesture of unity and readiness. The atmosphere was tense yet charged with determination, a collective understanding of the crucial task at hand.
The minutes passed, and the order to advance was given. With Lieutenant General Cole at the forefront, the soldiers and marines moved forward, a formidable force determined to seize control of the Demon Army's vital agricultural territories.
The land ahead held promise and danger in equal measure, but the troops marched onward, unified in their purpose, knowing that their actions could deal a significant blow to the enemy's resources and turn the tide of the ongoing conflict.
As the first light of dawn touched the horizon, casting an amber glow over the landscape, Lieutenant General Cole's actions ignited a surge of adrenaline among the troops. With a thunderous echo, his pistol shots pierced the air, a signal that reverberated across the battlefield.
"COME ON YOU SONS OF BITCHES!!" Cole's voice thundered, charging ahead like a force of nature. His cry, a blend of urgency and determination, pierced through the atmosphere, rallying the troops to action.
The soldiers and marines, invigorated by their leader's fervor, responded with an uproarious roar. "FOR GLORY!" Their warcry echoed, a cacophony of unified voices joining Cole's call to arms.
With hearts pounding in unison, the troops surged forward, each step filled with purpose and determination. The ground shook beneath their feet as they charged, their spirits fueled by the rallying cry of their commanding officer.
Cole led the charge, sprinting at full speed, his presence a beacon of courage and leadership. His cry of "DO YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER?!" echoed through the ranks, instilling a sense of resilience and valor in every soldier and marine who followed.
Amidst the chaos of battle, the troops pushed forward, their spirits ablaze with determination and unwavering resolve. They charged, a relentless force surging towards the Demon Army's stronghold, ready to seize control of the vital agricultural lands and turn the tide of the conflict in their favor.
When the Demon Army saw the charging allied troops heading to their stronghold. Most just smiled and got ready to cask dark magic on the troops.
When one of them noticed their General looking up at sky frantically, "Why are you look-"
The demon didn't finish his sentence as missiles, bombs, fireballs, and magic hit their positions.
Cole and many of the charging troops looked up with smiles as fighter jets flew by as dragons, harpies, witches and wizards on staffs flew above the charging troops.
A dragon picks up Cole as he rides it's back, "KEEP PUSHING FORWARD! And as we ride to certain death! We trust our successors to do the same for us!!! Because my troops do not buckle or yield when faced with the cruelty of this world! We are fighting and charging alongside brothers and sisters of all different races or counties! So ready yourselves people! THE BATTLE IS UPON US!!!!!" Cole yelled out encouraging and boosting morale to the troops.
His voice, a beacon of unwavering determination, cut through the chaos, rallying the troops below.
"FORWARD! FOR UNITY AND STRENGTH!" Cole's words thundered across the battlefield, igniting a fire within each trooper's heart. His unwavering resolve and fearless demeanor fueled their determination, instilling a sense of unity among the diverse forces charging forward.
The troops, spurred on by Cole's impassioned rallying cry, pressed ahead with unwavering resolve. They fought shoulder to shoulder, drawing strength from their diverse backgrounds and shared purpose.
As spells clashed and explosions rocked the ground, the allied forces surged onward, propelled by the unyielding spirit embodied by their leader. Riding atop the dragon, Cole's presence inspired them to stand firm in the face of adversity, to push forward despite the overwhelming odds.
"TO VICTORY AND HONOR!" Cole's voice boomed across the battlefield, echoing the collective determination of those charging into the heart of the enemy's stronghold. With every step forward, they embodied unity, courage, and the unbreakable will to fight for a future free from tyranny and oppression.
