Chapter 4
The morning arrived, and Cookie was not left disappointed! Stormy walked into the kitchen as Moon excitedly praised Cookie for his catch, the interaction left Stormy feeling warm. "You did great, Cookie! A far better catch than what I've ever seen!" Moon exclaimed. Cookie beamed with delight, and looked at Stormy, picking up on his presence.
"Ya hear that, Papa!" Cookie exclaimed, spinning in a couple of circles excitedly. Stormy softly purred in agreement and delight. "Of course I did, Cooks." Stormy grinned, fondly smiling at Moon as the other tom purred back.
"Now, lets get you to school." Stormy chuckled at the audible groan of disappointment from the kit. "Hey, Storms, is it alright if I join you two today?" Moon asked, causing Stormy and Cookie to both go silent and stare. "Of course, of course." Stormy agreed. The kit between the two excitedly flicked his tail. "Yay! Papa and daddy are both taking me to school today!" Cookie grinned, already dashing out the door.

On the way back home, Stormy couldn't help but smile. He hadn't noticed how Moon kept to the shadows, nor how happy the black and white tom was. "So, you earned the title of 'papa', huh?" Moon teased. "Hey! Cookie also sees you as a dad too!" Stormy retorted playfully, as he cuffed Moon's ear.
"Fair enough. He's a great son, y'know? It... Makes me wonder if I deserve him as a kit or not, sometimes." Moon huffed. Stormy cocked his head with interest. "Of course you do, Moon. You deserve it more than anything else." Stormy purred. Moon looked at the gray tom and offered a warm smile. "Thanks. Perhaps in celebration of being the best fathers in the world, we should go on a date? Whadd'ya say? Me and you stopping by the Fish Shack and getting something to eat?"
Stormy looked at Moon, rather surprised. "A date? Sure, I've got nothing better to do. We are amazing dads after all." Stormy lightly joked, which seemed to bring up the mood even more.
Moon happily purred at Stormy's response. "Got time today? It can be a lunch date." Moon asked. Stormy nodded. "Of course I do, I don't really have a job to go to or many friends, so, I have more than enough time." Stormy gave a lopsided grin, to which Moon chuckled.
Fortunately, the Fish Shack is nearby to the school, allowing for the two to be able to quickly arrive. It was a rather well-planned place for the Fish Shack to end up, considering many teachers arrived during their lunch breaks, and many parents took their kits there after school.
Stormy walked into the building, and held open the door for Moon, who thanked Stormy with a playful swat to the ear. Stormy snickered and batted at Moon's tail in playful retaliation.
The other tom dramatically sighed, pulling out the theatrics, and headed over to the counter, ordering unsalted fish sticks for Stormy and ordering himself a fish sandwich, before the two sat down at a table.
This date was going to be great.
