December 28th//

Danny and Jessica were getting ready to leave for Colorado. They planned to be gone until the day after New Year's Day. As excited as Jessica was to spend time with Danny alone, she was an emotional wreck leaving the babies. She's only ever been away from them for a night, never four nights.

Jessica was holding the babies one last time before she left. "Mommy will miss you so so much!" She says holding Scarlett up to her face.

"Be good little angels for grandma and grandpa. You'll have so many visitors while we are gone like aunt Sarah, Ann, and Jane. You'll also see your big cousin Chase!" She says enthusiastically. A single tear dropped from her face. Wyatt looked up at her and smiled. She wiped her tears and smiled back.

"I'll see you very soon!" Jessica slowly puts them in their cribs as they start to fall asleep. Danny stood behind Jessica and rested his chin on her shoulder.

"We will be back soon. We need this Jessica."

"I know. I'm excited, just the thought of leaving them..."

"They'll be in good hands."

Once the car was loaded Dorthy and Albert waited with them outside.

"You two have lots of fun, enjoy yourselves, and be safe!"

"We will, mom. Thanks again, Sarah and Evan will probably stop over to see them!" Jessica says from inside the car.

"Just call us if you need anything." Danny says to Albert.

"We will! Now leave before you miss your flight!" He says

"Alright, bye!" They say out the windows as they drive off.

George walks outside and stands next to his parents. "Think she'll be excited?" He says

"I hope so..." Dorthy says nervously as she watches the car drive off.

Later that day after long flights, Jessica and Danny arrived in Colorado. Once they got off the plane Danny lifted Jessica up and spun her around. She giggled then held his cheeks in her hands.

"We're here, baby. Let's make the most out of this wonderful weekend. It's just you and I... full nights rest, no crying babies, just us." He whispers. Jessica smiled and places her feet back on the ground.

"I couldn't be happier."

Jessica and Danny arrived to their resort that they were staying in. Danny had arranged all of the reservations. Jessica expected to stay in a Holiday Inn, but Danny had reserved a couples suite at a large ski resort right near the mountains. Jessica was stunned to see how large and open the resort was. It was absolutely beautiful. Snow covered the ground and the roof of the wooden building. It was very modernized inside. The fresh smell of pine lingered around the lobby.

"Danny! I didn't know we were staying in something huge like this! This must have cost so much, my goodness." She says nervously

"Jess, you deserve this and so much more." He holds her hand as they walk up to their room.

When Danny opened the door Jessica was stunned once again. It reminded her of her old apartment. Jessica walked out to the balcony that overlooked the mountains. To her left was a candle lit bedroom with roses and inside was a jacuzzi. The living room had a large fireplace with a tv and couch.

Jessica tears up a bit and jumped into Danny's arms. "I love you! You know that, right?" She giggles

"I do! And I love you even more! I wanted to make this trip special. It's not every weekend that we can spend a few nights alone."

"I'm excited... we have a fun filled weekend of skiing, hiking, and a you know." Jessica smirks then turns to the bed.

"Mhm, I know." Danny pushes Jessica into the room and she falls onto the bed. Danny kisses her neck and slowly takes off her blouse.

"How about we break in this bed?" He exclaims.

"Ahh, I'd love too."

Danny and Jessica stayed in that night enjoying each other's company.

The next morning Danny woke up earlier than Jessica to order breakfast in bed. He surprised Jessica with a big breakfast.

"Mm, this is good." Jessica says with a mouth full of French toast. Danny chuckles and takes her hand.

"Jess, I'm so glad we did this." He says softly

"I am too..." she nods

After breakfast Jessica and Danny got their ski things and went to the slopes. At first Danny was a bit rusty and fell. Jessica laughed before helping him up.

"You goof! You said you've had years if experience." Jessica rolls her eyes in a joking way and helps lift him back up.

"Yea! It's also been years since I last skied. I'll be fine, just watch." He chuckles

"Mhm, whatever you say!" Jessica goes down the slope and Danny watches her. Seeing her so happy and letting loose made him even happier. He needed this weekend so much for the both of them.

The two of them had dinner at the resort restaurant. Jessica wore a beautiful red dress that showed a bit of of cleavage. A silver necklace with a small diamond hung from her neck. Danny stared her down in a daze.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" Jessica giggles, trying to get Danny attention.

"I'm sorry, you're just so beautiful."

"Aww." She smiles

"I just wanted to say how happy I am. You and I have both had so much stress on us lately. Me juggling work and trying to be home as often as possible, and you at home all day with the babies, alone. When I get home from work we are both exhausted. And I feel horrible not being home as much. But I am doing it for you three. This weekend meant so much to me because I feel like I haven't been expressing my love for you enough or giving you enough attention. I feel like I'm failing at making you feel like the most amazing woman ever."

Jessica looked into Danny's eyes and tears filled inside of hers. She wanted to burst into tears. There had been so much stress put on the both of them that it put a strain in their relationship. So many things had changed in the last six months.

"I love you, don't forget that. You have never once failed to make me feel amazing. These last six months have been so crazy but you never stopped caring." Jessica reached for Danny's hand and he hold onto it.

"I will never stop caring. For as long as I live."

New Years Eve-

Both Jessica and Danny were enjoying themselves, skiing, site seeing, and enjoying each other's company. As much as they wanted to stay, they were excited to go home and see the babies. Jessica and Danny did more skiing then relaxed in the outdoor hot tub. Once they finished doing so they went back to their room to freshen up for dinner and fireworks. Jessica slid on one of her black dresses with heals then curled her hair. Danny wore a casual suit.

He had been acting different as dinner for closer and closer. Jessica had noticed that something was up but she didn't want to say anything.

After dinner Jessica and Danny put on their jackets and went outside to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks. It was less than an hour until it was a new year.

They sat on the balcony surrounded by a few other people. Jessica cuddled up next to Danny on the bench that overlooked all of Aspens city lights and mountains. Danny shifted his body and took Jessica's hand.

"Jess, I need to say something." Danny as anxiously

"And what is that?" She smiles

"A year ago I met the woman of my dreams. A beautiful, ambitious, funny, kind hearted, amazing woman. I couldn't be happier to have met you at that party. From then on I was determined to make you mine, forever. Little did I know that you and I would bring two beautiful babies into this world. Not only do we share a life together but we share two other lives together. You are such an outstanding mother to our children. You carried them for nine long months and always kept them healthy. Everything you do is for them and that's what I love most about you. You always put other people before yourself. Words just can't describe how special you are to me, Scarlett, and Wyatt. You do so much for us. And no matter what, you are always there. Jessica, I love you so much. When I think about my future I always seen you in it. That's why I wanted to ask you this..." Danny takes a deep breath and gets down on one knee in front of Jessica. Little did they both know, they had an audience. It was nearly New Years Day.

Jessica covered her mouth and started to cry.

"Jessica Lange, will you marry me?" He says

At this moment Jessica had no doubt in her mind that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Danny.

"Yes!" She says

Danny smiles and stands up. He takes her hand and slides on the ring. Jessica looks at it and giggles.

"It's beautiful..." she whispers. Then she gets on her tippy toes and kisses Danny passionately.

Everyone around them claps and snaps pictures. Danny chuckles and turns to the fireworks that went off just in time for the new year.

"Happy New year to my beautiful fiancée!" Danny says

"Danny, I can't wait to marry you."
