After days of contemplating, Jessica and Danny finally booked their weekend vacation. They had it all planned out. They decided to go to
Colorado the weekend after Christmas. They were going to be staying at a ski resort in Aspen. Jessica was relieved to finally have the trip planned out. She was ready to have time alone with Danny, even though leaving the babies for a weekend would be tough. Jessica and Danny thought it would be best if they did stay with Dorthy and Albert. Sarah and Evan understood and said they pop in to help and visit with the babies.

December 15th//

Jessica and Danny planned to drive up to Minnesota for Christmas with the twins then fly out of Minnesota to Aspen after Christmas. The two of them were packing all of their things up to leave for the holidays. Jessica tried to keep her head away from the vacation and just enjoy her time with family. She wanted the twins first Christmas to be the best.

Jessica was in the nursery packing up the babies things. Danny walked in holding Wyatt and feeding him his bottle. Scarlett was napping in Jessica and Danny's room.

"Look, your big boy is attempting to hold his own bottle." Danny says

Jessica stops what's she doing and sees Wyatt happily drinking formula out of his bottle.

"Mommy is so proud of you, big boy!" Jessica squeals and picks him up out of Danny's hands.

Over the last week and a half Jessica worked more and more with the babies. Wyatt was doing much better than Scarlett. The only reason she was giving Jessica such a hard time is because she knew something was changing.

"I just finished packing all of our skiing stuff. I can't wait! I find it so funny that you and I both know how to ski but have never done so together. This will be great."

When Jessica and Danny were younger they did ski trips with their families. It had been since freshman year of college that they last went skiing.

"Me too! But for right now let's focus on the twins first Christmas. It's our first Christmas as a family." Jessica smiles then leans in close to Danny.

"That's right, baby girl." Danny caresses her cheek then kisses her.

"Mmmm." Jessica whispers, breaking away from him.

The next day//

Danny and Jessica drove up to Minnesota. Since it was a twenty-four hour drive they stayed in a small hotel in Illinois.

They got some of their things and the babies out of the car and settled into their room.

Jessica threw herself onto the bed and yawned.
"Tired, baby?" Danny whispers, plopping himself next to her.

"Traveling with twins is the death of me." Jessica says with a chuckle.

"Thankfully we can sleep for the next twelve hours." Danny reaches for Jessica's hand and holds it to his chest.

Jessica just laid there next to Danny. She didn't want to move.

The next morning they finish their road trip and arrive at Dorthy and Albert's just in time for dinner. Immediately when they pull in Dorthy runs outside with her apron still on. Before they could get out of the car Dorthy swings open one door and Albert swings open the other.

"Oh, my grand babies! They've gotten so big!" Dorthy exclaims. Danny gets out for the car and greets Dorthy with a hug. He pulls out Scarlett's carrier. Jessica does the same with her father, she greets him with a hug and takes out Wyatt's carrier. Albert helps her with it and they walk inside to warm up.

"We've missed you four so much. We are so glad you came!" Dorthy smiles hugging them both.

"I love how mom and dad get all mushy around babies." George rolls his eyes

"Aww, you're still our baby! You know that right?" Dorthy Wraps her arms around him but he manages to run away.

They all laugh.

"It's always a thrill coming!" Danny chuckles

"This is going to be an amazing Christmas! We will all be together, and I'm so happy." Jessica says.

"You two look exhausted. Why don't you go rest for a bit before dinner. Your father and I will watch the little ones." Dorthy puts her arm around Jessica and smiles.

Jessica rubs her eyes and looks at Danny. He nods then turns to the door. "That would be great, thank you." He smiles

"Let me just feed these little ones real quick and make them a bottle." Jessica says billing out their bottles and formula.

"I'll go get our stuff out of the car." Danny leans over to kiss Jessica and she smiles. Albert walks out to help Danny. Dorthy and Jessica carry the carriers to the kitchen and Jessica prepares the bottles.

"You look good, jessie. You seem happy." Dorthy says softly standing next to her at the sink.

"Thank you, mom." Jessica smiles

"I'm proud of you."

Christmas Eve-

Jessica and Danny were able to sneak out of the house real quick to finish last minute Christmas shopping since they didn't have much room to bring gifts to Minnesota. They did all of their shopping for family in town.

Danny pushed the stroller while Jessica walked beside him with her arm locked around his. Right as they were about to leave for Christmas Eve dinner at Zoe and John's, Jessica gasped.

"Look! Danny look!" Jessica points ahead

"What?"

"Santa! Oh Danny we have to let the twins get a picture!"

"Jess, we have to get on the road to Stillwater."

"Please Danny! Your parents won't mind. We have to be there at four and it's two."

"Fine, let's be quick. The line looks long."

...

"Don't cry Scarlett! It's Santa!" Jessica says from behind the camera.

Danny and Jessica then start to wave their hands around and suddenly the babies start to laugh.

"Take it now! She's quite now!" Jessica says to the photographer.

As they leave the mall Danny and Jessica high-five each other.

"We make a good team. We got the perfect picture too!" Danny exclaims

"Haha, you're right. I'm glad that's over. Did you see how annoyed Santa looked?" Jessica giggles.

Christmas//

Jessica and Danny woke up the same time that Dorthy, George, and Albert did. It was an easy morning. The twins were still asleep so they all had coffee and talked for a while until the babies woke up. When they did Jessica's heart raced with excited. She had them in Christmas pj's and brought them out to see the tree and presents.

"Merry Christmas little angels!" Jessica says. Danny held Scarlett and Jessica held Wyatt. They walked into the living room and sat down on the floor. Jessica teared up a bit when she saw how the babies eyes lit up when they saw the bright Christmas tree lights.

"The little babies first Christmas!" Dorthy exclaims sitting down on the floor next to them.

"And so many more to come!" Jessica smiles. She turns to Danny and they share a quick kiss.

"Well! Let's start opening some gifts!" Albert says

That morning Jessica and Danny opened small little gifts for the babies and George opened his. After that they all had breakfast. Later in the morning the twins went down for a morning nap so the adults exchanged a few gifts before the rest of the family came over that night.

While Dorthy and Albert were cleaning up Danny pulled Jessica aside.

"You know what I just remembered?" Danny whispers

"Hmm?" Jessica hums

"A year ago today I met your family and we spent Christmas together. We became so close over Christmas break. Ann had Chase all while you were holding our little babies inside of you. I'm so glad my parents went on that cruise and we met at the bakery. Gosh, it's so crazy to think about that." He holds her around the waist and smiles.

"Danny, I knew I was pregnant." Jessica giggles

"You did?" He raises his eyebrows

"My sisters kept bugging me about it... it was in the back of my mind but I denied it."

"No denying now." Danny turns to the sleeping babies and chuckles.

"I wouldn't want life to be any other way without you, my love." Jessica holds his cheeks and wraps her arms around him.

For Christmas this year it was a full house. Danny's family was over for the twins first Christmas, and Ann's husbands family was over for Chase's first birthday. All while Jane, her boyfriend, George, and close family was over as well. It was chaotic but everyone loved it.

At dinner Dorthy came out with a big cake for Chase's birthday then a small one for him to smash. Everyone sang happy birthday and Chase clapped his hands in excitement. He played around with his cake and people celebrated. After the dinner and birthday party everyone exchanged gifts.

Ann and Jessica went into a quite room to put the kids down. Since Chase was already wiped out and asleep Ann helped Jessica feed the twins while Danny was out talking with Dorthy and Albert.

"It's so hard to believe that Chase is one. Right around this time I was at the hospital. It's crazy to think that is was all a year ago!" Ann whispers

"It is... time flies. I feel like I'll be an emotional wreck when they turn one."

"Don't be! It's such a happy feeling celebrating your babies birthday! Also, pretty sure around this time you were pregnant!"

"Yeah, I was!" Jessica giggles

"You seem really happy, Jess. I'm glad."

"Thanks, Ann. I wonder what Danny's talking to mom and dad about."

"Hmmm, who knows. But today was eventful. Chase's first birthday, the twins first Christmas, and so many inlaws in one room!" Ann says with exhaustion.
