Halloween

October 25th-

The twins were four months old. Jessica and Danny had been home for almost a month. In that month lots had changed. Jessica was more at ease and everything was going just fine. She missed home, but being with Danny made her forget about it. Danny was more present which was what Jessica had needed. He worked shorter work hours expect for the days when he had to go to Buffalo. Jessica had a nanny come in once a week for the days when she had to run arons.

Danny took off to go with Jessica for the twins four month check up.

Once they got into the room Jessica took the babies out of their seats.

"My poor little babies... mommy wishes they didn't have to give you shots today." Jessica pouts

"They need shots?" Danny says nervously

Jessica nods and frowns. Scarlett was sleeping while Wyatt wiggled around in Danny's arms.

"You are just such good babies. Good babies don't deserve shots. Even though it's good that you get this so you can stay healthy!" Jessica says in a baby voice.

Two nurses came in with four shots that would be split up between the two. Danny would hold Wyatt while the one nurse gave him a shot and Jessica would hold Scarlett while the other nurse did her shots. Jessica's heart raced. She knew the babies would be screaming. She hated seeing them so sad.

"Okay, one... two..." the nurse pokes the first two shots into Wyatt and he screams as loud as possible. Danny quickly picks him up and bounces him. Jessica pouts as the other nurse starts on Scarlett.

Moments later both babies are screaming and the nurses are gone.

Danny and Jessica swayed around the room trying to sooth the babies. They caught each others eyes and smiled.

"Look at us." Danny chuckles

"They are so sad!" Jessica says

"They'll be fine. Shots aren't that bad."

"Easy for you to say. They are traumatized, Danny!" Jessica kisses Scarlett's forehead as she slowly starts to calm down.

After the appointment Danny and Jessica walked around Central Park with the babies in the stroller. Danny pushed them while Jessica hooked her arm around his.

"I'm sad that in only a few weeks it will be super cold. We won't be able to have walks anymore." Danny sighs

"I know... it's going to be our first winter in New York. Isn't that crazy?"

"Yeah, it is. Our first Thanksgiving and Christmas too! We will have to make new traditions."

Jessica unhooked her arm and stopped. Danny turned around and stopped as well.

"What?" He raises his eyebrow.

"I thought we planned on going back home for the holidays?"

"Well yeah, but after the holidays. I thought maybe we could have Thanksgiving and Christmas here. Let's just finish our walk and we can talk about it when the time comes, okay?" Danny extends her arm to Jessica and she takes it. They finish their walk then go home.

October 29th-

Jessica had just put the babies down. Danny cleaned up a bit. Jessica had a bag from a children's clothing store in her hand. She ran up behind Danny and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Look what I got!" She says holding the bag in front of his face.

Danny chuckles and takes the bag. "What's in here?" He reaches his hands inside of the bag and pulls out two nitted hats and pants.

"I got the babies little bunny costumes! See the little blue and pink tales with the ears! I thought since we couldn't go out since it will be cold, I could at least put them in these for the house." Jessica squeals

"Aw, very cute." Danny says putting the hat and pants back in the bag. He hands the bag back to Jessica ad continues what he was doing. He didn't seem very enthusiastic, he seemed down.

Jessica set the bag on the counter and rubbed Danny's back. "What's wrong, you seem tense." She whispers. Jessica puts her head on his back.

"Work, just a lot going on." He says

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No, it's all boring stuff." Danny turns around and puts his hands on Jessica's hips.

"Maybe I can help. We have some time while the babies are asleep. The twins are in our room but our couch is big. But only if you're up for it." She smirks bitting her lip.

Danny grins and brings Jessica close to his body. "I'm for sure up for it." He says picking her up. Jessica giggles and kisses his lips.

Halloween-

"Happy first Halloween to my little bunnies!" Jessica exclaims. The babies laid on their stomachs and Jessica took a quick picture.

"This will be going to all my contacts!" Jessica chuckles

It was early in the morning. Danny was getting ready for work. He walked in the room with his suit and tie on. Jessica fixed it then smiled.

"So, you'll be home early tonight for the babies first Halloween? One of my friends from work invited us to a little party!"

Danny gives Jessica a quick smile and kisses her.

"Look how adorable. Our little baby bunnies." He says in a baby voice.

"For the party I'll just put them in little onesies. I don't think these are cold weather friendly." Jessica says

"They look so cute. I like your outfit idea." He says

"Good, I'm glad. You better get to work so you can leave early. I love you and have a great day." She says

"I love you, I'll see you later."

Jessica went out with the twins for the day to occupy herself until Danny came home. She went grocery shopping then grabbed a quick lunch. When she got home she fed the babies and rested on the couch.

Danny then called her-

"Hello! Are you on your way home?" Jessica asks

Danny sighs "Babe, I'm so sorry. Frank is keeping me late tonight. I want to go to that party so bad and be with you and the babies but I can't."

Jessica wanted to scream and tell him to leave but she couldn't. Jessica took a deep breath and shook it off.

"Well if you have to be at work then that's fine. I wish you could come."

" Me too, but it's the babies first Halloween. They won't remember anyways."

Jessica was stunned to hear Danny say that. It was more than the babies first Halloween. It was their first Halloween as a family. Halloween wasn't that important. Jessica just liked the idea of doing family things and wished that he didn't cancel.

Jessica decided to not go to the party. She stayed in and wanted to wait for Danny. As it got late Jessica was exhausted and didn't want to stay up for him.

Around eleven she heard a few thumps. She looked at the clock to see what time it is then saw that Danny wasn't home yet. She quietly crept into the living room to see Danny stumbling around.

Jessica turned on the lights and crossed her arms. She glared at him and he stoped.

"Baby" he slurs

"What the hell? You reek of alcohol!" She clenches her teeth.

"I know, I'm sorry. I had a dinner to go to. That's why I couldn't come home." He walks towards her and tries to hug her but she shoves him.

"Damn you! You know how much I wanted us to go to that party as a family." She backs away from him.

"I know-"

"You're drunk." She exclaims

"I know... but it's just Halloween." He whines

"It's more than that. We are a family. Families do things together. God, I can't believe this. Hope you can get comfortable on the couch tonight." She hisses going back to her room and locking the door.
