*Adelyne's POV*

Daryl threw the bottle of alcohol at the sealed door and it shattered into pieces.

"Open the damn door!" He yelled in fury.

Shane, TDog, and Daryl all tried to open the door taking axes to it. Everyone was crying me included. I sat against one of the work benches and Mike was holding me as I was in tears watching everyone try and open the door. I looked around at everyone. Carol was holding Sophia, Lori was holding Carl, Andrea sat against one of the work stations and everyone else was standing.

"I should've left well enough alone it would have been so much easier?"

"Easier for who?" Lori asked with tearful eyes.

"All of you. You know what's out there, Ashort brutal agonizong death" He looked at Andrea. "Your sister what was her name?"

Andrea looked at him.

"Amy"

"And Adelyne your daughter?"

I looked up from Mike's chest and sniffled.

"Katie."

Jenner leaned closer to us.

"Amy, Katie. You know what this does you've seen it. Is that what you for your wife and son?" Jenner asked.

"I don't want this!" Rick told him in a firm voice.

I wiped my tears away.

"This isn't right you can't just keep us in here!" I yelled at him.

"Wouldn't it be kinder. To just hold your loved ones and wait for the clock to run down?"

"We don't deserve to die like this!" Carol cried.

I stood up as Shane came up out of breath he leaned his head on one of the work stations and looked at Rick.

"Can't make a dent" He said.

"Those doors are designed to withstand a rocketlauncher."

I seen Daryl come up raising and axe.

"Well your head ain't!"

Dale and Shane all stopped Daryl. I walked over trying to calm him down and he dropped the axe taking my face in his hands and kissing me then pulling me into his arms. I started to cry all over again and his hold on me tightened. I collected myself and leaned against a work desk. Please let us get out of this!

"There is no hope there never was" Jenner told us all.

"There's always hope maybe not here but somebody somewhere-"

"What part of everythings gone don't you understand?" Andrea asked.

My eyes widened in shock. No way she was agreeing with this guy. He was giving up but we didn't have to.

"Shut up Andrea!"

Andrea glared at me.

"Sorry Adelyne but no one hit your buzzer" she snapped back.

Before I could say anything Jenner spoke.

"Listen to your friend she gets it. This is what takes us down. This is our extintion event" Jenner said calmly.

Suddenly we heard a gun load and seen Shane walking up with a loaded gun and walked up to Jenner. And people panicked.

"Open that door or I'm gonna blow your head off do you hear me?!" Shane yelled.

"Brother this is not the way you do this and we will never get out of here"

"Shane you listen to him" Lori told him pleading with her eyes.

Shane yelled scaring me and that's when he started shooting work stations he shot one close to me and it exploded sparking causing me to scream and Daryl grabbed me protectively. Rick fought Shane for the gun and then got it when he knocked Shane to the ground.

"You done now?" Rick asked with an angry look.

"Yeah guess we all are" Shane said.

Everything was silent and thenI don't know what happened but my anger flared up inside of me. I was pissed people better stay out of the way. I groaned with annoyance and I walked up to Jenner I felt the presence of Daryl, Rick, Shane tense up and become on guard.

"Jenner let us out!"

"I can't-"

"Don't give me that bullshit I know you can. Just let us out! I swear to god, you can't do this to us you can't.It's not fair. Let us out!!"

"Adelyne-"

I shoved Jenner and went to go at him again but Rick grabbed me and pulled me and I struggled.

"No pain don't you understand? your daughter-"

I thrashed but didn't get anywhere.

"Shut up! You hear me?!" I yelled.

Daryl came up angry.

"Don't even go there with her!"

I relaxed and pushed Rick's hand off of me which meant I would be okay. Jenner ignored Daryl and looked at me seriously.

"Adelyne don't you want to be with your daughter again? Hold her in your arms?"

"Shut up!" Daryl yelled.

A million thoughts came running through my mind. Seeing Katie, her smiling face, knowing she wasn't hurting anymore. It was Katie...Katie, my beautiful daughter. It all came crashing into me like a train. I held my stomach and I looked at Daryl with sympathetic eyes he came up to me and put his hands on my shoulder.

"Daryl- it's Katie, my daughter. I could be with her and-"

"No don't listen to him. Adelyne you're a survivour you're not quitting now" He told me.

I sniffled.

"It'll all be okay just-"

Daryl took my face in his hands and looked into my eyes.

"NO! You aren't giving up. Katie wouldn't want that for you. You aren't quitting"

"You're not Adelyne" Mike said.

I looked at him with teary eyes. Mike's gaze shifted to Daryl and he had a serious look.

"Take care of her"

Daryl nodded in understanding. Daryl looked back to me and held me against him for a moment and then moved away.

"I think you're lying about there being no hope" Rick said.

Everyone's attention was back to Rick who was speaking to Jenner.

"What?"

"You're lying about there being no hope. If that were true you would've bolted with the rest or taken the easy way out. You didn't. Why?"

Jenner looked away.

"It doesn't matter"

"It does matter. You stayed while others ran why?" Rick pressed on.

I begand to wonder why myself. Why was it only him? Jenner stood up and looked at Rick.

"Not because I wanted to. I made a promise to her, my wife."

I seen the relaization come across Lori's face as she held Carl.

"Test subject 19 was your wife"

Jenner looked away and then back at Rick. I seen the heartbreak in his eyes I have the same feeling since Katie. He loved his wife just as I loved my daughter I understood his heartbreak.

"She begged me to go for as long as I could. How could I say no?"

The banging on the door averted my attention. Daryl was trying to bust his way out. Jenner contined.

"She was dying. It should've been me on that table. It wouldn't have mattered to anybody. She was a loss to the world. Hell she ran this place I just worked here. In our feild she was an Einstein. Me? I'm just...Edwin Jenner. She could've done something about this. Not me."

"Jenner your wife didn't have choice" I told him.

Rick put a hand on his shoulder.

"You do, that's all we want. A chance"

"Let us keep trying for as long as we can" Lori said.

Jenner sighed and turned away.

"I told you topside locked down I can't open those"

Jenner pressed a code into a keypad and the door opened.

"Come on!" Daryl said.

We all ran except Jacqui and Tdog pulled her but she refused.

"No I'm staying..I'm staying sweetie" she told him.

"That's insane!" TDog said firmly.

"No it's completely sane. For the first time in a long time. I'm not ending up like jim, Amy, and Katie. no time to argue and no point not if you want get out. Just her out" She psuhed Tdog gently.

Ouch! mentioning Katie puled at my heart strings again. We all stood then started to move again I pulled on Mike's arm and came to a hault as he didn't move.

"Mike come on"

Mike shook his head with a sad look.

"Honey I'm done. I can't compete with this. I'm glad I got to know you. But it's over for me, I'm done" he explained.

I pulled on him.

"What? Mike no! Come on please!"

Tears pricked in my eyes again he was giving up.

"Adelyne you need to go and get out of here"

I shook my head.

"No I'll stay too. I'm staying"

Daryl grabbed my arm.

"No you ain't! No way in hell" he said firmly.

"He's right sweetie"

Mike looked at Daryl and nodded.

"But Mike" I said crying.

"Your comin' you ain't staying"

Mike hugged me and I hugged back and just stood there. I was staying. Daryl pulled but I wouldn't move. That's when he grabbed me and pulled me with him.

"No Daryl! Stop please! Mike!"

But my struggling was useless he pulled me away.

We all scrambled to get out of the building. Nothing would break the glass and Carol gave Rick a grenade that she found when she washed his clothes. He pulled the pin and it broke the one window. Daryl helped me out and Shane took down a few walkers with bullets so we could get by. We all got into the cars and I seen Dale and Andrea come out they made it. A horn sounded and Lori shouted for them to get down. And before I had a chance to say anything Daryl's body was over mine. I gripped his shirt and felt an overwhleming wave of heat and a loud exsplosion. I buried my face into his chest waiting for it to be over. After a few mintues Daryl lifted off me and I sat up and looked at what was once the CDC. It was gone, Mike and Jacqui were gone. Just like Katie. Gone.
