Plot- this is set in the summer before GoF. Harry comes to the train station and enters the cafe in which Amber works a part time job with a funny newspaper. Harry in a spur of the moment thing, ends up calling himself a tosser, much to Amber's amusement when she find out.

Amber is a muggle with full muggle heritage. She's smart and likes to think things through rationally so when Harry explains to her about magic, she doesn't initially believe it.

Amber and Harry meet up every summer in the same spot by the old abandoned traintracks, sitting on a patchwork blanket, and just have the most fluffy summer romance until Harry has to go to Hogwarts. Amber and Harry are the cutest little smol beans.

Harry talks about Amber a lot to the Weasleys and Mr Weasley is fascinated. Mrs Weasley insists that Harry bring her along for dinner one day. In OotP, Sirius asks Harry what she's like and there is a funny moment where Sirius is shown muggle polaroids of Harry and Amber, and is confused when they don't move.

Amber comforts Harry when he returns after Sirius died, perhaps bringing them closer together. But Amber always writes to Harry, relaying what is happening in the muggle world back to him. When a muggle family is murdered with their muggle daughter, Harry gets extremely worried, but a quickly written letter from Amber says she's fine but her parents are scared about what's going on.

There's a situation where Harry and Hermione are alone and they need somewhere new to camp out, Harry suggests the bank beside the traintracks. Amber still goes to the train tracks, just sitting on their patchwork blanket staring at the sky. Harry revealed himself to Amber one tonight and introduced her to Hermione, who incidentally attending muggle school with Amber. They leave soon, but after the war, Harry goes back to the traintracks to find someone had fixed the area up and it was no longer train tracks, instead it was a newly grown forest that had been planted in the place of the traintracks.

And inside the forest was a single bench covered in a patchwork blanket, on it sat Amber, reading a book absentmindedly. Harry tells Amber that the war is over and he won't have to leave her anymore. Their summer romance becomes a full relationship in the summer of 1998.
