Chapter 26
*Alastair Pov*
I glanced at the table which has some papers, but I do not know completely what are they about. I cannot see whether we are in more need of the livestock and the farming or we are in less.
Then my eyes followed the woman who is pacing infront of the table holding a few papers with deep concentration lurking in her eyes. It's been two days since I touched her as per her wish and also only I am uttering the words, but she is saying the things that are relating only to the Kingdom.
I sighed, making her throw a half glance at me before staring back at the work she is doing and started writing down. She called for the Minister and he appeared within minutes.
"Send this message to King Vali by someone trusted." She ordered and he nodded before leaving.
King Vali know everything but I do not know anything. I sighed again and this time she glanced at me directly with no work to do.
"Are your wounds healed?" She questioned.
"Yes! Is there something to do?" I questioned, raising to my feet.
"You can have a look at the Kingdom to know about it if you wish." She replied and I nodded before leaving the room.
I tugged the tunic and breeches a little feeling the irritation with the silk threads they have been made off. I wish to remove these all and wear some normal clothes.
After a long walk around the Kingdom I can see that the security is major than I have ever seen which explains for the failure Nadir has endured for entering inside this Kingdom.
When I walked back deciding to change the apparel's to remove the sweat, I saw Colton waiting for me on the stairs.
"How is your new position, Your highness?" he questioned with a tease.
"Do you want to know the truth?" I questioned him back with him standing on the stairs and me standing before him.
"Yes! It is bad for a King to lie." He replied with raised eyebrows.
"It has been hell! I am feeling like I got placed into a small box with which I cannot do anything at all." I replied.
"What? Come on! It must be not that bad." He uttered in confusion.
"It is more than bad. For a matter take these clothes. I cannot wear these royal ones and want to wear normal clothes. I sit in that workroom, not knowing what to even do and then the bed is not comfortable, making me toss for half of the time." I continued to rant and he just stared at my face.
"Ok! Why don't you tell her about these things?" He questioned.
"How could I? When we threw our ways at her, she accepted them without making a protest. I will get used to these clothes and for now I am lying on the floor. As for the workroom I get to stare at her face, which is enough for me." I replied sighing.
"Ok! It's been nice sharing words with you. I will take my leave." He uttered before passing me and walked away in a rush making me frown.
"Can we talk?" I heard a question from behind making me understand why he ran away.
"Yes!" I replied and she walked passed me climbing the stairs while I followed her.
She stepped inside the chamber and I closed the door to see her standing near the racks and pulling out a few clothes. Then she walked back near to me and placed those clothes on the bed.
"Remove your tunic." She in a way ordered and I stared at her in confusion with which she started removing it by herself.
"Now wear this." She murmured placing a different tunic in my hands after removing the tunic carefully not touching my skin.
This time I came out of my shock and did as she asked me to. Then she pushed down the tunic back in its place which she removed.
"Now, how do you feel?" She questioned and I can say that I am completely comfortable.
"There is a particular rack which has the ones you have to wear in general and the outer ones which you are wearing everyday like a normal apparel when you step out of your chamber." She explained, showing me the normal clothes.
"So, all this time I was wearing the outer ones singly, making myself uncomfortable?" I asked her and also myself.
"Yes!" she replied and I suddenly laughed, however, her lips twitched before she hid it.
"So, you want to stay here forever without wanting to return to Nadir?" She questioned in a serious tone after I stopped laughing.
"Yes! I will never go, leaving you." I replied with confidence.
"You will be looking after the training of the soldiers and also the safety of the Kingdom. I do not know whether to trust you to be here or not, but you are the King so I cannot keep you away from your duties and I was waiting for your wounds to heal." She continued and I frowned at her words.
"Like I said I went along with this wedding because I want it for my people and didn't go with King Vali because he doesn't deserve someone who can't give him anything. That goes to you too, as your words will always struck into me. If possible, even take the decisions towards the prisoners or culprits as I am not good at it." She finished.
"Are you sure? Because I don't think you are bad at giving away the punishments." I uttered with a locked jaw and all she did was walking away.
After changing my apparel's into a right way I walked back to the workroom to see her at the window staring outside. However, she turned when she heard me walking in.
"I have kept the new details regarding the soldiers and the detailed plans regarding security to the Kingdom." She uttered pointing at the stack of papers at my table.
"If I was really good at punishments then I would have not trusted you with the safety of this Kingdom when I know that the Nadir is more important for you than anyone in this universe." She added before taking other stacks of papers from her table and placed them on mine.
"You are more important for me more than anything now, which was even that day, but I was foolish." I mumbled.
"These are the details for the Prisoners at present in dungeons. Do not be harsh for theft and go into roots for the reasons of their doing that and if possible give some solution to it. You can have a word with me if you do not have a problem with following a woman's word." She uttered ignoring my words and I immediately pulled her to me holding her hand making her fall on me.
We stared into each others eyes and I slowly whispered "I am giving importance to a woman's word because of which I am not crashing my lips to yours as you put it. If not for that then you wouldn't want to know my not so innocent thoughts."
"I..." she trailed off in complete shock which I can see on her face and I left her hand.
"If you stay here for one more second, then I will forget your word." I whispered on her lips after a few moments and she realized that I left her hand way before.
"I need to go and meet your King and Queen." She uttered raising up and started walking near the door.
"They are not my King and Queen anymore. You are my Queen and I am your King. And if you want we can call each other Your highness." I uttered with a tease and she walked away in a rush making me chuckle.
*Bhairavi Pov*
"I had sent a messenger to Nadir and he returned today." I uttered staring at the King and Queen's face.
"What is happening there?" King asked in a tone to want everything.
"Not a good news. He doesn't know why, but many people want to leave the land. He got the sight of the few warriors coming in his way so he escaped." I explained.
"What must be Gavin doing to those people?" Queen questioned in a sad tone.
"I can send him again, but the people were desperate to leave. Shall I send a big ship to get them here?" I questioned them.
"Did you shared it with Alastair?" Colton asked and I shook my head.
"He still needs a little more rest like you said. But I can tell him even now." I replied.
"What is there to tell me?" We heard a new voice and turned to see Alastair standing near the door holding a paper.
"Have a seat and we will explain." King uttered, and explained everything to him.
"So, what now?" Alastair asked in a distant tone.
"She is thinking about sending the messenger again and a big ship to bring some people who wants to leave for their safety." Colton replied.
"That will be putting the messenger's life in harm along with the captain." Alastair uttered thinking about their lives making me feel surprised.
"Aren't their lives more important?" I questioned him with a frown.
"What if they are tired of his ruling and came to that suggestion. I think it would be better if we take a step of thinking before doing something." He replied not glancing at me.
"The messenger is well trained to disguise himself and can also fight. Do not worry about them and this time we will keep the ship bringing them here plan aside." I uttered and he slowly nodded to it.
"I hope he is not torturing anyone there." Jacey whispered.
"If he were then no one would sit quiet and bear them. Your land people are always there to protect themselves and the women too know about the bow." Alastair uttered, making all of us stare at him in shock.
"What?" he questioned frowning at us.
"You said 'Your land' which is not expected from your mouth." Jacey replied from all of us.
"I already told you they don't think my wife as their own with which I am also not their own." He mumbled standing up and glanced at me.
"I have a punishment for this culprit. Can I give it to him by myself?" he questioned gesturing the paper and I nodded after which he left.
"Do not worry about your son, King Teodor." I mumbled when I saw the worry on their faces.
"We are more worrying about the people. If he is harming them, then he needs to be punished." He replied.
"It is a good thing that his intentions were out before Alastair took the throne. Otherwise, who knows what would he have done." Queen uttered.
"The former minister of this Kingdom threw the sword at us when he joined the hands with Ramsey's scheme and made him enter the Kingdom. My Father was more than surprised knowing his back stabbing as he was old and served for this Kingdom for a long time. Ramsey wanted me to not lose his Kingdom as Council decided to take away his Kingdom due to his bad doings. If not for the people who attacked palmer, then I would have been married off to Ramsey and he would have been ruling this Kingdom." I explained and they keenly listened.
"What I am trying to say is that anyone can get their mind into bad ways and start harming. This can be seen from the unexpected people too, because we do not know which person would react how to any situation." I added.
"My Pal is now more than sensible after becoming a Queen. Who would have thought." Colton teased and I slapped his shoulder because of which I saw a flicker of emotion in Jacey's eyes.
"You all need to call it a night as it is getting late. I will take my leave." I mumbled raising up and left their chambers.
"What are you doing?" I questioned Alastair to see him sitting on my bed.
"Your bed is better than mine." He replied and added "I am thinking to sleep here from today onwards."
"Alastair!" I uttered in shock.
"Do not worry! I am here, to have food with you." He mumbled and I nodded before sitting at the other side.
"If possible can you tell me about everything regarding the orders or any specific things you are doing with the ruling." He asked and I nodded at his fair request.
"Will you ever forgive me?" He questioned after we finished the food.
"I do not know!" I replied and he nodded before walking near to the connecting door.
"If you flip the mattress, you will feel it comfortable as it will be hard." I mumbled and then in a moment I felt him hugging me from behind.
"I love you." He whispered in my ear before biting it.
I gasped and was about to scold him, but he already left my chamber. I rubbed my ear and started removing my dress to wear my night clothes.
I rubbed my ear again before drifting off into sleep.
