Chapter 2

When my vision became clear again, I saw a pink Pokémon with yellow hair and long claws staring at me. "Now, now, no need to be scared, I'm just gonna Ice Punch, maybe Night Slash you," the Pokémon snarled, a look of murder on her face. "N-no, stay back! Don't hurt me," I pleaded as I fired a Razor Leaf at the Pokémon. The Pokémon just stood there, letting the attack collide.

When it was finished, she just smiled and raised one of her claws. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, but as I did, I heard a sound of a Pokémon getting punched. I opened my eyes and saw the pink Pokémon, lying fainted on the ground. Standing in front of it was the Riolu from earlier. "Man, the world just refuses to give you a break, huh? Running into Mal on your first day is a bad break."

He offered his hand to me to help me up, but I refused it, getting up myself. He just shrugged and took off again, prompting me to chase him. I ran in his direction for what seemed like hours, until fatigue began to catch up to me. I crept under a bush, waiting for sleep to overtake me, but before it did, another memory flooded my mind.

"Terra, you need to get a good rest for tomorrow, or else we'll never win!" I just looked at my trainer with woeful eyes. "I see, you're worried that we'll fail again, right?" I nodded to her, causing her to stroke my head.

"Hey, we've just had a few bad breaks. I know that we'll win this time," she told me with a smile. I was still unsure, so she began singing our favorite song. "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow," she sang, before I joined in, making sounds to the pitch of the notes. "You're only a day away," we sang, before I fell asleep in Allie's arms.

"Allie, why did you leave us? It could have been great." I began to cry, before singing again. "To-morrow, to-morrow, I Io-love you, to...morrow," I sang through my tears. You're only a day...away" I sang, before passing out on the forest floor.

When I came to, the morning dew had covered the blades of grass around me. Kricketot and Buneary occasionally ran across the forest floor in front of me, and the sky was still a dark blue color. I crept out from under the bush, shaking any dew off of me. I ate one of the Sitrus Berries in my bag, before starting back towards the middle of Eterna Forest. I walked carefully, always wary of that Mal person.

While searching for the place on the card, I saw a one-sided battle taking place. A pink Pokémon with a floral pattern was facing a brown crocodile-like Pokémon with black stripes and eyes concealed by the black around them, as well as a blue and black frog-like Pokémon. The pink one was trying to attack the frog, but it's attacks were being blocked by the brown Pokémon. "Just admit it, Daisy, you can't beat us," the brown Pokémon snickered. "Well maybe if you didn't block all my attacks, it would be a fair fight," the pink Pokémon yelled back.

"You need to take any advantage in a fight you can get," the frog told the pink Pokémon, a smug smile plastered on his face. The brown Pokémon dashed towards the pink one, teeth bared to attack. I quickly sent a Razor Leaf out in front of the pink Pokémon. When the brown one jumped to attack, he collided with my attack, sending him flying away. "Oh, a 2-on-1, is it," I angrily asked.

"Well, not anymore," the brown Pokémon snarled. "Sandile, get up, you weakling. You really aren't going to let one Razor Leaf knock you out, are you," the frog asked his partner. "Hey, thanks for that," Daisy told me. "Don't thank me yet," I told her.

The frog's hands begun to glow a bright purple color, and he turned to face me. "So, you think you can just interrupt this training session whenever you please," he asked me. "Hey, Croagunk, eat this! Psybeam," Jamie yelled to the frog, before sending a Daisy of rainbow-colored light circles at the Pokémon. Croagunk smiled and cartwheeled out of the way, before doing the same motion to move over to me and smacking me across the face.

I was sent sliding past Daisy, pulling up soft dirt as I tried to regain my balance. My partner used the opportunity to send a silent field of electricity at Croagunk. He fidgeted in place, a sign I knew from fighting with Amp to mean that Croagunk was paralyzed. As Daisy knocked Croagunk out with another Psybeam, I focused on Sandile, who was now trying to Crunch me. He grabbed me in his jaws and tried to throw me away, while I tried to send another Razor Leaf at him.

He threw me into a tree, causing me to scream in pain. I could barely move, and tears were streaming from my eyes. "Well, so much for being tough, sweetheart. Now, goodnight," Sandile snapped, before tossing me into another tree. I slammed into the tree shell-first, and couldn't move at all.

I tried to see what was going on, but I could barely see anything. All I saw was Sandie jumping, before falling back to the ground, fainted. "Hey, are you alright," Daisy asked me as she floated over to check on me. "Can't...move...everything's...pain..."

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I had no idea that this would happen!" "Don't worry about it, I've been through worse in the past 24 hours." "Please, let me heal you, I know Heal Pulse!" "No, it's fine, I'll live."
