Chapter 1

As I trudged through the forest, the plants seemingly moving in my way to cause me to struggle more, my stomach rumbled loudly, reminding me of my hunger. I instinctually made my call that I did before to be fed, but I instantly remembered why it wouldn't work. Now hungry and depressed, I continued my slow walk, my memories forcing tears out my eyes. "Why, oh why was I so weak? Maybe if I wasn't, Allie would still want me," I groaned to myself. The image of her curly brown hair and caramel eyes flooded my vision, causing me only more sorrow. I began to think back, back to what caused her to abandon me.

"Alright, Terra, we need to win right here, right now," my trainer told me. Seeing her pushed to the brink of defeat and still able to stay positive gave me hope, and the strength that I thought I needed to win. However, this was the third time that Allie had challenged the Oreburgh City Gym, and it was clearly getting to her. I looked at my opponent, a gray and blue Cranidos, which had swept away all my other allies. "Terra, use Razor Leaf," my trainer commanded.

I nodded and sent a group of sharp leaves at the Cranidos. They made some small cuts along the fossil Pokémon, causing him small amounts of damage. "Cranidos, Headbutt!" The Rock-type charged at me, knocking me away, but I was still in it. "Razor Leaf again, Terra!"

I sent more leaves at the Cranidos, who was hit especially hard, and was close to fainting. But, as it fell to its knees, struggling to stay up, it began to glow, growing taller and larger by the second. "Rampardos," its now booming voice roared. "Rampardos, Head Smash!" The Rampardos began to glow blue, before being enveloped in blue fire and rushing towards me. I tried to move away, but my legs were frozen with fear. The Rampardos slammed into me, throwing me away and into the wall behind me, knocking me out.

I woke up to Allie sending me out, along with her other two Pokémon, Amp the Shinx, and Perry the Starly. "Guys, I'm sorry. I took you from your lives to have you fight for me, and I deeply apologize. I thought that I would be a great trainer, but with the latest loss against Roark, I see that I was wrong. So, I'm releasing you all. I want you to go back to where you were before I captured you. I sorry for wasting your time, goodbye."

Allie then turned away and walked back towards Oreburgh Gate, leaving us alone in Oreburgh City. "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm heading back to Route 202. It was great meeting you all, but I have a family back home. Keep in touch," Amp told us as he headed the same way as Allie. "So, where will you go, Terra," Perry asked me.

"I don't know, I have nowhere to go. Allie got me as a starter Pokémon, and Professor Rowan won't take me back. I'm alone now, and I have nowhere to go." "Oh no, I never thought of that. Hey, I think I know a place where you can go. It should be a good place for you to start over."

"Okay, that sounds good. Please, take me there." Perry grabbed me with her talons and quickly flew me across the region to Eterna Forest. "Here we are, Eterna Forest. The place where you can go to start over."

"Th-thanks, Perry. I...I guess this is goodbye." "Yeah, I guess this is. I'll never forget you, Terra. And always remember, you're never alone as long as your fronds are with you." Perry wrapped her wings around me as a sort of hug, before taking off for her home on Route 201.

(Flashback End)

As I trudged further into the forest, I saw a grove of Oran Berry trees, with a Sitrus Berry tree in the middle. I quickly rushed for the Sitrus Berries, but so did many other Pokémon, who were faster or stronger than me. By the time I got there, the entire grove was picked clean, and I had nothing to eat. "N-no, not this now. Arceus, this day has been horrible!"

"And how so," an unknown Pokémon asked me. I looked up and saw a Riolu, his red eyes, soft and caring, looking down on me from a branch. "N-nothing's wrong," I told him. "Yeah, sure, a female Turtwig is walking through the forest and crying over nothing. I know the look in your eyes, you were abandoned by your trainer."

The Riolu words only caused me to cry even harder, salty tears sliding down my yellow cheeks. The Fighting-type jumped off the branch and to the ground in front of me, before stroking my head gently. "Hey, it'll be alright. Here, I think you need these more than me." He held out his paw, giving me a few Sitrus Berries.

"Um, I sort of, quadrupedal," I told the Riolu. "Oh, right, hang on." He ran behind a tree and came back with a bag. "Here, as a gift. And if you ever need help, check the bag, it should have a card. See ya," the Riolu said, before jumping into the trees.

I looked at the bag now around my neck, a brown, leather bag. I opened it, taking out said card. It showed a map of Eterna Forest, and a red dot near the middle. "Well, I'll make my way there," I told myself. I hadn't walked far in, so I went in the same direction as the Riolu went.

As I went along, I heard a rustling in the bushes. "So, what do we have here? A Turtwig, and newly abandoned it looks like. Seems like a good day for me," a voice sneered from the shadows. I was thrown into a nearby tree by an unknown Pokémon.
