Kai woke up to the sound of loud purring he opened his eyes and stared into the eyes of a maine coon kitten with blue eyes. He had to admit seeing the kitten on his chest was adorable.

"Hey," Kai spoke soft as he got a meow in response from the kitten "Your honestly adorable."

The master of fire lifted his hand and happily pet the kitten, it helped him forget about what had happened for now. He continued to pet the kitten not noticing that Cole had entered the room. 

"Hey Kai glad to see ya awake," Cole spoke gently with a soft smile he decided it was best to not tell Kai who he was petting just yet.

Kai looked over at Cole as he stopped petting the kitten "Hey Cole," He said quietly his tail moved slightly.

The kitten meowed at nuzzled up against Kai, he was seeking attention from the male.

"So how are you feeling?" Cole asked Kai and he looked at the attention whore of a kitten.

Kai went back to petting the kitten "Fine I guess," He replied as he looked at the kitten "You act so much like Jay don't ya?" 

The kitten meowed in response as he arched his back. He was enjoying the attention he was receiving.

"That's cause the kitten is Jay. He turned into a kitten after touching a gem called the Cat's eye. He's gonna be stuck like that for who knows how long," Cole explained to Kai "I hope that doesn't cause you to lose interest in petting the little attention whore."

"It doesn't," Kai told Cole as he pet Jay contently "Petting him helps keep my mind off of what happened."

"Sensei went out to look for a cure for that," Cole informed him gesturing to the tail "But your going to have to get use to the tail. At least till the cure is found."

Kai looked over at Cole he then looked at his skin. The purple scales stood out as he bit down on his lip. Jay noticed the upset look on his friends face, he licked his nose. The master of lightning meowed as his tail swayed back and forth.

"If it means anything Jay hasn't left your side since he was turned into a kitten," Cole added as he watched Kai and Jay "Zane thinks it due to Jay saying your name as he touched the gem. But I'm not entirely sure as to why saying a name before becoming a kitten would be so important."

"Sometimes it means a lot," Kai spoke softly as he rubbed underneath Jay's chin "And I enjoy Jay's company."

Jay purred loudly his tail swaying back and forth contently. He rolled over like a dog so his belly could be petted.

I couldn't help myself with making Jay the cat, it just felt so natural. Besides I also wanted Kai to have some form of company.
