Chapter 3
Haknyeon woke up then registered something was on his head. It was Hyunjoon's hand. He stretched out then searched around for something that told time. It was a little over 9:30am. He'd wait to wake Hyunjoon up since he needed rest more than he did. He moved Hyunjoon's hand then left his spot to use the restroom. He paused just outside the door. What if their attackers knew where they were? Could he just leave Hyunjoon all alone? They weren't attacked in their sleep, so he figured things were okay. He quickly took off towards the restroom.
The door to Hyunjoon's room opened then closed. Hyunjoon's bed was approached and a small injector was pulled out. Just then the policewoman stepped inside to see a nurse hovering by Hyunjoon's beside.
"Hey, how is he doing?" she asked while walking over.
"He's doing well. If you'll excuse me, I have other patients..." she said before bowing and walking away.
"Excuse me, when can he be discharged?" she asked curiously.
"Tomorrow." the nurse said with a smile.
The policewoman nodded then kicked the back of her head. She sat atop her and started to search her, eventually finding the small injector.
"You're shameless..." she spat, tossing it away from them.
Haknyeon opened the door and saw the scene before him. This was her chance of escape.
"Sir, please help! She suddenly attacked me as I came over to look at the patient!" she wailed.
"She's lying! She tried hurting Hyunjoon with that injector." the policewoman said angrily.
The real nurse entered and assessed the situation.
"Miss, could you call for the authorities?" Haknyeon said to the woman who walked in.
She nodded then hurried off.

They watched as the woman was taken away with the injector full of deadly poisons.
"How did you know she was tricking you?" she asked as they walked down the hall to Hyunjoon's room.
"If you were attacking a real nurse, I would've heard the scream from where I was. Plus I doubt you'd attack anyone without reason." said Haknyeon as they entered the room.
Hyunjoon was sitting up straight and staring out the window. Haknyeon walked over to him as the policewoman went down to sign discharge papers.
"We're about to leave. I brought you these, well more like she did." said Haknyeon with a chuckle. "I'll step out so you can change."
"Don't come in unless I say so. Tell her that too." said Hyunjoon as he kept his back to Haknyeon.
"Got it." said Haknyeon as he placed the clothes down.
He quietly left the room then took a seat in the congregation area. He kept an eye on Hyunjoon's room to make sure no one went in. Some minutes passed and he wondered if Hyunjoon was done changing. He left his seat then knocked on the door. Nothing.
"Hyunjoon?" Haknyeon called out.
"I'm coming..." Hyunjoon said back.
The door open and revealed a tired looking Hyunjoon. Why he looked so tired was beyond him, but they had to get moving. There was no telling when another attack would occur.
They made their way downstairs and saw the policewoman wasn't around. Haknyeon sat Hyunjoon down then kept an eye out for her and potential attackers. He hoped and prayed with all his might that their trip back to Seoul would have very little trouble along the way.
"Hey, do you think about who you could've been?" Haknyeon asked while patrolling.
"Here and there, yeah. It's the muscle memory that I have that makes me wonder. Going in without fear and such... It's a bit scary." said Hyunjoon, looking at his hands.
"I think about that too... I shot a guy so accurately in the back of his head... that's not amateur stuff." mentioned Haknyeon. "Was I really a cop or an undercover operative?"
They looked down at the floor, completely puzzled. It was a familiar voice that broke them out of their thoughts. Haknyeon and Hyunjoon followed her and saw a truck sitting not far from the hospital.
"That's our ride. Naturally we'll be in the back. But just to make sure, check yourselves for bugs." she said.
They patted themselves down then checked each other in places they couldn't reach themselves. They didn't find anything suspicious. The woman checked herself just to be sure as well. They made their way to the truck and found themselves being pulled into the back.
"Hey, hey. Calm down. I'm not anyone bad. My buddy up front suggested I ride with y'all to offer some backup if necessary." she said with a grin. "Name's Jooyong and my buddy up there is Hosong. He's friends with your pretty lady. What was her name again... ah, Arisa."
The boys relaxed slightly as they sat far from her. Even if they were friends of the policewoman, there's no way to guarantee they weren't bought off. They exchanged looks, confirming with the other to stay wary. The truck took off, making its way to the highway.
"Hey, have you ever ridden in the back of a truck before?" Haknyeon whispered to Hyunjoon.
Something snapped inside of Hyunjoon. He massaged his forehead as a memory heavily plagued his mind, showing him and Haknyeon standing together near a truck. The words Haknyeon said continued to ring in his ears.
"...on... joon... ou okay... Joon!" a voice called out, making him look up and around.
"Huh? What's going on?" he asked nervously.
"I could ask you the same thing. You zoned out after I asked." said Haknyeon worriedly.
"I... I remembered something..." he muttered, looking at his hands. "You and I... we did know each other. We were standing near a truck in a shady place and you asked that same question... My answer then was no."
"Whoa, you remembered something! That's good news. Though, it's not as useful as my find if we were to be honest." said Haknyeon, fiddling with the note in his pocket.
Hyunjoon lifted his knees to his chest then felt a bit of pain on his inner thigh. He lowered them then did it again. He felt pain once more. He looked to Haknyeon who was busy reading over his note.
"Hak... my thigh's in pain..." he whispered, pointing to where.
"Let's check it out." Haknyeon suggested. "But let's turn our backs to her. I don't trust her."
They did as he suggested before Hyunjoon's pants came down, revealing his boxers underneath. Haknyeon curiously poked and prodded at his thigh, looking to Hyunjoon for facial changes. Hyunjoon finally flinched. Haknyeon started to feel around it then noticed something weird. It felt like there was string on certain parts.
"Excuse me, miss Jooyoung. Would you happen to have a knife on you?" Haknyeon asked.
"You're in luck." she said, tossing him her pocket knife.
"What are you going to do?" he asked nervously, staring at the sharp knife.
"I'm really sorry but... there's no other way to tell." Haknyeon apologized before starting to cut at the area.
Hyunjoon hissed in pain as he cut away at his thigh. Tears pricked his eyes as he willed himself not to cry. It was through blurry vision he was able to see what Haknyeon needed the knife for.
"I can't believe it... you have a note too!" Haknyeon exclaimed, holding the bloodied note. "Here, read it!"
Jooyoung searched around the back for the first aid kit while Haknyeon did his best to lessen Hyunjoon's bleeding. Hyunjoon gently opened it then noticed it was bigger than Haknyeon's.
"My name is Heo Hyunjoon, age twenty, currently working for the Seoul police force. Haknyeon and I are partners in said force. Listen to and protect Haknyeon and he'll do the same. If you ever find yourself in Seoul, look for Kevin Moon in warehouse 7. We have to complete the drug bust." read Hyunjoon.
He turned to the back and saw there was tiny handwriting. He read it to himself then quickly folded the note back up. He looked at Haknyeon who nursed his wound. His cheeks started to burn as his mind replayed the words in his mind.
"P.S: I have the hugest crush on Haknyeon, but he's very hard to read... :("
Haknyeon used to be hard to read? He wouldn't have believed it if someone just told him. This man was a complete open book. He pushed the thoughts away and started to focus on the real problem. He mentioned drug bust.
"Haknyeon, I think I know why people are after us. It's got to do with this drug bust I mentioned. We must have a part in it where impending death awaits us if we don't fight for our lives. But what do we know that caused this...?" Hyunjoon theorized, feeling a bandage being wrapped around his thigh.
"Well, maybe we'll find out more when we get to Seoul. It's where everything started." said Haknyeon, tying his bandage. "Now you're good to go."
Hyunjoon gave him a smile then quickly looked away. He couldn't look at him properly after reading his note.

Haknyeon paced around, making Hyunjoon anxious and fearful. Haknyeon couldn't stop. Things were going too well. Hyunjoon finally had enough and tackled Haknyeon down. Jooyoung silently watched them, amazed by how quick they succumbed to insanity. The truck made a turn before slowing down some.
"Hey, think we're about to get out and get some air." said Jooyoung, feeling the truck moving in reverse. "You two need it."
The truck stopped moving. Jooyoung opened one of the doors and waited for them to get out. Hyunjoon was first and took in the sight. Cars, trucks and roadway for as far as he could see. There was hardly any vegetation. Haknyeon joined him by his side then started to stretch.
"You know, I'm starting to feel hunger... Shame we don't have cash on us... or cards." muttered Hyunjoon, sitting on the back of the truck.
"Ah, now you made me hungry." groaned Haknyeon. "Well, there's crab grass over there."
They exchanged looks before Jooyoung hit them both atop their heads.
"Nobody's eating grass that definitely been pissed, pooped, and stepped on countless times. Hosong and Arisa are buying ya both stuff. Got any allergies?" she asked.
"We don't have any memories so we can't even tell you if we wanted to." said Hyunjoon, nibbling in the back of his hand.
"So if we eat something that we're allergic to, we'll that's on us." said Haknyeon with a shrug.
She texted them to get safe snacks as well just to, well, be safe. Hyunjoon quietly thought about possible allergies. What in the wide world could he be specifically allergic to? Maybe he was one of the lucky people not allergic to anything. They both moved back at the sight of Hosong. He was tall, well built and certainly didn't have the most friendly face. He was handsome at that. They quietly stared, unable to tear their eyes away from his face.
"Hey, your food. Take it." Hosong said in a deep voice.
They shivered at the same time, clearly allured by his voice. Hyunjoon was the one to reach out and take what he held. He said a few words to Jooyoung before walking away.
"I want him in me..." Haknyeon muttered softly.
"What?" Hyunjoon and Jooyoung said in unison.
"Huh? Did I say something? Oh, food!" said Haknyeon, taking one from Hyunjoon's hands.
Neither decided to press as he'd probably get defensive over it.

They were on the road again, waste free, thirst quenched and bellies full. Hyunjoon soon found it weird as well that no one had attacked them yet. Did they do a good job of going undercover?
"Miss, did you want to come along?" Haknyeon asked, having thought about it some.
"Eh. Son claims he doesn't need anyone but I'm the one he always calls when things go south. Just last week he told me he left somethin' at home and had me fetch it. But nothing of the sort has happened now since I did everything for him. He's hopeless without me." said Jooyoung, leaning back.
"Is that so..." Hyunjoon muttered. "So how long has he been bothering you with deliveries and such?"
"Too long. I say he needs an assistant or somethin'. Why are you both curious about us, hm? Wonderin' what two strangers are doing helpin' you both?" asked Jooyoung with a curious look. Neither said a word in response. She shook her head then lied back. "I'm gonna take a nap. Don't bother me."
Haknyeon fiddled with his note again. He just needed to relax. Maybe it was a good thing that they weren't being pursued. They could get to Seoul in one piece and figure out just who they were and why they were in a whole other province with amnesia.
