The blue painted walls that enclosed the bullpen held the entire unit. Scattered around the room they all had their attention drawn into the investigation board. Pru sat on Adam's desk, originally facing him but turned to the side to still have her attention on the board. The girl sat there eating sour patch kids as she tuned into the case.
"She's a Jane Doe. We ran her prints; they're not in the system." Hailey spoke, letting everyone know of the recent victim.
"My C.I. doesn't know her name either, but her friends name is Isabel Perez. She's dating the same guy who looks good for this murder." Kim explained.
Adam tapped Pru's leg to get her attention. The girl turned her head slightly, giving him a questioning look. Adam motioned for the bag of sour patch kids that she held in her hand. The girl mouthed a "no", which made Adam frown. Not liking Pru's answer to that. Adam began to repeatedly tap on Pru's leg. The blonde playfully began to swat his hand away in annoyance. Jay watched on attentively by his desk at the two interacting during the briefing. Feeling a strong emotion of jealousy. They were joking around and being close like how Jay and Pru used to be. And it seemed to get to him. It irritated the man that it wasn't him in Adam's place. But he had himself to blame for that even if he didn't want to admit it.
"What do we know about her?" Adam questioned as he pointed at Isabel's photo.
"She's Latina, 21, used to work on and off at the strip club on the west side. A place called Alibi." Pru informed them of what they had found out from some of their digging.
"Okay, so we think her boyfriend killed the Jane Doe?" Kevin tried to gather it all.
"Yeah. And maybe Isabel too. Because she's been missing three weeks, I tried tracking her phone. It's dead." Kim put out her possible theory.
"Alright, well, talk to your C.I. again. See what you can find out. Meanwhile, lets dig into this Jane Doe. What's her name? What's her story?" Voight instructed as Pru went to grab her jacket to go with Kim and Hailey.
"Pru." Hank called out to the girl from his spot.
Jay had been standing with him with his arms crossed he had just been dismissed from the case. The man was annoyed by the action.
"Yeah, Sarge?" She questioned as she approached the two men.
"It's almost time." He pointed at the clock as Pru frowned.
"I was really hoping to work on this case." Pru began to say as she then lowered her voice.
"The sessions aren't mandatory anymore."
"A few more sessions wouldn't hurt just for a checkup. You're off the case." Hank told the girl who stood there looking at her boss.
"But, Sarge."
"You and Halstead can go to your appointments together. Carpool. Bond a bit." Hank told her as she frowned. She glanced at Jay then sighed before walking away from them to head down to the parking lot.
Pru stood by the dark gray truck with her arms crossed and foot tapping against the pavement. Jay had exited the building and walked towards the truck with the keys in hand. He slowed down and stopped when he saw Pru standing by the driver side door. When she looked up at him, she stuck her hand out.
"Keys." She instructed as Jay looked at her like she had three heads.
"What? No. I always drive this truck." Jay tried to argue with her.
"Not today." Pru stated as she snatched the keys from his hand. Getting up into the truck and closing the door.
"This is ridiculous." Jay let out as he slapped his hands to his side in defeat then walked around to the passenger side of the truck in a sour mood.

Pru bounced her leg while she sat in her seat waiting for Jay in the waiting room. She wouldn't lie that there was times she thought about leaving him at the hospital, by she decided against it. Feeling like that would get them nowhere. And it would also not be the most ideal thing at the moment. So, Pru sat there in the silent, empty room. The girl constantly checked her phone for the time. Hoping they could soon leave and maybe jump in on the case. Even though deep down she knew once she was sidelined for a case, there wasn't much she could do.
Taking Pru's attention away from her phone, Jay cleared his throat to announce his presence. The girl jumped to her feet in an instant. Finally ready to leave the place, they headed towards the exit. When they got outside the two walked past a few people on their way to the parking lot. They reached the truck and both of them sat in silence until they couldn't bare it anymore.
"So... how was the session?" Pru questioned. Jay peered over at the girl who was driving then shrugged his shoulders.
"It's not really for me." Jay admitted.
"Well, if you aren't going to take it seriously then you should probably tell Hailey. You know, so she can look for a new partner. Hailey has this thing where she needs the person to be all in and not off in a distant land when working. So if you decide you aren't going to at least try, it's probably best to tell her." Pru said as she tried to get him to realize that his PTSD and other problems were indeed serious. And that he shouldn't just brush them off like it's nothing.
"Well, how was yours?" Jay wondered as he tried to take the attention off of himself.
"Jay. I was out for a whole month recovering. These sessions are just check-in's now. I'm better." Pru truthfully told him.
"That's great for you. Truly, I'm glad that you're in a better place mentally. You look good." Jay complimented as Pru glanced over at him for a second.
"Thanks."
"Are you seeing anyone now?" Jay wondered.
"Jay...." Pru trailed off not liking the new topic of conversation. Feeling like it wasn't the best thing for them to be discussing.
"What? I'm just curious. You seem kind of happy." Jay said.
"I can be happy without seeing someone." Pru told him.
"So that's a no?" Jay pressed more, which made Pru shake her head in annoyance.
"It's a no. Now leave it be. It's not like it concerns you at all anyway." Pru told him as she turned up the radio. Not wanting to fall back into what she just dug herself out of.
