'' Try my ass . She told me how you ditched her and went away ignoring her pleads .'' he joked still holding me . We were both drenched in rain.

'' Do you know what, she also told me that she used you to get back at Fermiga . Did you know that ?'' I rebuked .

I saw tears escaping his eyes his firm hold was becoming unbearable '' I know it dammit , I know she only cared about you and she ditched me on the day you caught us . Do you know what did she say?''

'' She said Veronica is my sister and if she is hurt , I'll make it up to her even if it means breaking up with you '' he recalled as another tear betrayed him.

I couldn't hold my tears , I was wrong about Sophia . The actual poison is me and I 'am the reason why she is in this condition.

'' She ditched me Veronica . SHE DITCHED ME FOR YOU.'' I was paralysed due to the coldness of the rain and Michael's revealation.

Michael broke down and slouched on the wet grass holding his hair vigourously . I couldn't hold it . I also sat with him and patted on his shoulder . He looked me in the eyes pain evident as if he couldn't save his bestfriend.

'' I want my best friend back Veronica '' with that he jumped on me and hugged me as if his life depended on me .

He was big and strong that he almost covered my whole body.

'' She is strong Michael she will be alright '' I consoled him by burying my face on his chest as his head was trying to hide in the crook of my neck.

'' What if she leaves us? '' he asked with tears in his eyes, still holding me but looking sympathetically at me.

'' Don't say bullshit Michael .'' we sat there until Michael was sober.

'' Shall I drop you to your home?'' I blurted out.

'' It's alright , I'am taking a walk .''he barely whispered.

'' Are you sure?'' I insisted.

'' Yes'' with that he went away and I decided to visit the hospital to meet Sophia.

" I want to meet Mrs. Sophia Sheewat. Please it's urgent " I stood there at the reception of ST. Laurence Hospital tapping my nails on the desk.

" I'm sorry Mrs. I can't let you in .The Sheewats had restricted the entry of visitors other than close family.'' she replied.

I sighed " Could you at least tell me the room number.I'm her friend.''

" Yes it is D Block 210 in the East wing. You know it is of no use.'' she said defeated.

I ran to wherever the sign boards led me , and soon I was in front of room 210 . There I saw Mr. Rutherford . He was sitting there his head down , tried , and stressed. I went to him and sat beside him.

'' You know I won't allow you near my daughter ? Why are you here Veronica?'' I barely heard him whisper

'' I'm sorry sir but I couldn't do anything . She was acting sick . I'm sorry I shouldn't say these things to you .'' I murmured.

'' She is Veronica . She becomes sick because she trusted you , and did whatever things to make you happy , and what did you do ? Abandoned her? '' now his voice was crystal clear and his each word was piercing through my heart.

'' Can I meet her ?'' I pleaded.

'' It's getting late.She is out of danger she won't die , you know my girl lost a lot of blood and went to a temporary coma . I guess this much information is enough for you . She also said you were the reason before she cut herself. It's getting late please child go home.'' he looked at me for the first time , I saw pain in his hazel eyes.

'' At least just let me see .'' this time voice broke.

'' Her mom won't like you there , so Veronica without any scene you can leave us.'' he demanded.

I stood up and went near the ICU door and saw Sophia attached to needles , calm and petite through the glass opening. I also saw a lady near her bed holding her hand but her I couldn't see her face her as her back was facing me. I sighed '' I'll come tomorrow then'' with that I headed to home.

I reached home around 6:30pm and decided to pour myself a glass of fruit wine. Dad wasn't home yet . I saw a sticky note on the refrigerator . It read ' Hey dear , I'm sorry I couldn't make it today , I'll be coming late today . So yes the plans are cancelled and I want you to eat the food that Penelope has prepared for you . Ronny take care . I'll make it up to you on this Saturday . A lot of love from papa.'

A relief crossed me because at the end of the day I have some people who will worry for me at least. I was so tired after eating Shrimp and stir fried Snap Pea I headed to my bed . It was a bad day . Nothing was right after I came to Cleveland. Everything is in mess.
