I was walking towards my car when Michael came and halted in front of me blocking my way.

'' What's the matter, Elias?'' I questioned because I hated him with all my guts.

'' Well I see somebody is scratching more than me'' he scoffed.

''I guess you should look for the names on the scoreboard Mr Perfecto,'' I whispered sarcastically.

'' You scums are always beneath me.'' Seriously

'' The last time I checked the scoreboard you are the third ranker. Go and check you moron and I don't have time to waste it on you .'' I moved passed him.

I reached my car and was going to fix seatbelt when my phone rang. A smile crept to face.

''Hola Ron, how are you?'' asked Ty.

'' Well hello, Ty I'm good How are you and Cent doing?'' I chirped.

'' I'm doing fine Cent is also good U-um are you coming today to the café?'' he rambled.

'' I'm so sorry Ty but I promised dad that I would be spending today with him we are going to a fair'' I gushed

'' So the matter is that day after tomorrow is Cent's birthday and I want to celebrate it since he has no family Ron,'' he concluded sounding a bit disappointed.

'' Oh, I see. Yes, I would make it the best birthday for him. I'll leave school early. So, you have to come and pick me up .'' I shouted with excitement.

I heard him laughing. What a hymn to my ears I could listen to them all day .'' Is that a deal Mrs Empire?'' he teased

God am' I blushing.

'' Shut up Mr Colt and don't forget to pick me up.'' I hissed because now my cheeks were like ta tomato for sure.

'' On your command My lady. See ya tomorrow then,'' he replied.

'' See you bye.'' I hung up.

Someone knocked on my window and I saw Dereck leaning on my window. I lowered my glass and glared at him with a bored expression but his eyes were with ample fear and he was shivering.

'' It's Sophia '' he whimpered.

I leapt from my car seat and followed Dereck who was running like a maniac towards the basketball court which was empty and was surrounded by a little crowd of some of our close friends. I saw Michael crying and shouting '' For god's sake Sophia put that thing down.''

''Dear baby, daddy is telling get to me. I 'll make everything alright just-just throw that thing away.'' sobbed a very familiar voice, Mr Rutherford Sheewat.

I created my way to the crowd and standing in front of me was Sophia, with a cuter held right across her right wrist to jab her vein. Then she saw me and a smile crept to her face but believe me it was a very sinister smile.

'' Hey Soph, please calm down we can talk and clear this out, put the knife down. '' I relented.

All the eyes present there were now glaring me.

Sophia laughed and laughed then the last words that came through her sent chills down my spine.

'' If I die today the only person responsible would be Veronica Empire. I love you dad.'' with that in a swift move she pierced the cutter through her veins first time, everything stopped the second time I rushed towards her It was all in slow motion for me but things apart me were happening very fast. She stabbed her vein six times. For god's sake six times.

I held her as she was losing her blood, Mr Sheewat came near us and pulled me away from Sophia '' Stay away from my kid. '' he screeched at me and hugged her.

Then the ambulance came for her. I was following Sophia who was now lying on the stretcher but I was jerked back and my head hit on the all '' Didn't you hear? Stay away from her '' Michael yelled on my face.

'' I swear I didn't do anything,'' I said calmly because the tears were starting to betray me.

'' You are a wreck Veronica, you are of no good '' sneered a very mad Dereck who was consoled by a very frightened Fermiga, she dragged him away '' She is like my sister Veronica, and if something happens to her I'll make your life miserable,'' he announced as his voice was becoming distant.

Michael was still holding me, I diverted my eyes to meet with his pure black ones.

'' M-Michael '' I was stopped when his shushed my lips '' Sh-sh don't utter a word.''

He dragged me out of the school towards the campus and we sat on the bench. We sat there quietly no one initiating the conversation.

Then a large drop of water hit my nose. then the water washes over my skin so strongly as if I 'am in the flow of a river than a rain shower. I started to stand up because I was worried about Fermiga and Michael was sitting here without any sense and in no mood for having a conversation.

''What are you Michael leave me now, I want to check upon Fermiga'' I shouted at him because the rain was pouring heavily and it was very noisy.

Michael looked at me then he started to laugh, he laughed so hard then suddenly his expression changed to a serious one then he stood up.

'' What did you say? Do you think Mr Sheewat would allow you? What did you say? Your friend? Last time I checked you ditched her. Do you take me as a fool bitch?'' he was so near and anger was spluttering out of him with his every question.

'' I don't know if I would be allowed in there or not but at least I can try'' I mumbled calmly to him because I couldn't fight him today.
