"Jade, Jade. wake up, lazybones. I have very good news. Wake up."
"What is it, Kat?" Jade replied without really paying attention.
"Guess what? You've got admission in my school, Amityville. Isn't that wonderful?"
"How? Why? What happened?"
"I showed them all of your certificates and trophies and they were more than ready to have you. Now you can study further and then find a job somewhere in a multi-national company and then you won't have to depend upon your TEMPORARY boyfriends and you'll be free to spend where and when you like. Isn't this exiting?" Kat was literally dancing around the small apartment. Jade didn't want to go to school and she didn't want to hurt Kat's feelings so she pretended to be a little excited.
The next day, the two of them went to the school. Jade was quite impressed with the quality and standard of the school. She could see that the school wasn't all that strict about the environment but teachers were well trained. They knew how to control any situation. Some teachers looked really strict and even the bad boys seemed afraid to get in trouble with them.
"You see? This school is no ordinary school. They have the best teaching and controlling methods here. They won't pressurise or force you to study but they'll get work out of you all the same." Kat explained.
"This really isn't that bad. I was not expecting this." Jade was really talking about the fun she's gonna have here as a bad girl patching up with the bad boys. And how much attention she will receive being the only bad girl in school.
"We have to go to the principal's office to get your roll number and all the information about your locker." This was Kat acting the mother. Jade didn't mind this at all because she was used to this. She only tolerated being treated like a baby when it was Kat doing it.
"Ok mom, let's go."
They headed to the office. They were greeted by stares which were mostly of the girls who weren't very modern and were afraid to get into trouble totally unlike Jade. Kat knocked on the door and entered the office, first taking permission because she was so perfect. On their entrance, the principal was staring at Jade. She whispered to Kat:
"Why is this old man staring at me that way?"
"Because of your dress."
"What's wrong with my dress?"
"The wrong with it is that it finishes before even starting properly. You have to take care of the way you dress if you don't want me to suspend you or kick you out of the school." This was the principal. He had heard Jade whispering to Kat and he spoke which was his first mistake with Jade.
"Excuse me? I am not your servant and I don't take orders from anyone ESPECIALLY not a stranger. I will dress the way I want. And why did you have the impression that I was dying to stay in this school? I don't care if you suspend me but I will NEVER let you kick me out of the school." The principal was staring at Jade by that time. Nobody had ever misbehaved with him like that. Kat sent Jade out and talked to the principal herself. Jade was pretty sure that she would get suspended but when Kat came out of the office, she had a locker key in her hand which she handed over to Jade.
"What the heck did you say to him?"
"You are never going to talk to him like that ever again. I don't want you out of the school before you have even started so keep your mouth shut."
This was a really bad start. But it was what Jade was good at.
