"How do you lose a person?!"

Its been atleast an hour since I threw myself behind this barrel and with every minute that passed Uma became more and more enraged. I paid no mind to the girl, my only question being: how could they not have found me yet? I mean come on, I'm literally like 10 feet away and no one has even bothered to look behind this damn barrel.

"I don't know, why don't you tell us, Gideon. How do you lose a person?" Harry taunts, glaring at the poor boy.

"I, um, well. You, uh." the boy stumbles over his words, scratching the back of his head before shrugging.

"Get this idiot off my ship!" Uma growls.

Harry grins wickedly at the boy, dragging him by his collar to the plank. My eyes widen and I gasp as the boy slowly walks toward the edge.

"Please don't do this! I can't swim, Harry!" The boy, Gideon, pleads.

I frown, a sick feeling filling my stomach.

If I don't show myself that boy could drown. If he dies that's on me, I ran away under his watch.

But if I go out there I'll be trapped for who even knows how long. Plus, who knows what they'll do to me simply because I tried to escape.

Just do it, Bev. Are you really gonna let this guy die?

Well..

"Oh, I'm gonna enjoy this!" Harry sighs happily.

Are you seriously going to let him have the satisfaction?

I grunt, inhaling before jumping out from my hiding spot, "Stop!"

All eyes turn to me, an evil smirk settling itself on Uma's face as she slowly pads toward me. Eventually Harry joins her, slowly walking towards me. They're clearly taunting me, trying to intimidate me. Unfortunately for them it isn't working, and Gideon got away.

"If you don't hurry the hell up I promise I will run," I place my hands on my hips, rolling my eyes as Uma cackles evilly. "What's the point of making that hideous noise if it isn't even scary? I mean seriously, if anything you sound like you're trying not to crap yourself."

"You little-"

Harry grabs onto the girl, holding her back from attacking me. I laugh, taking a step forward, "You gonna do something? What's the hold up?"

"Let me go now, Harry!" Uma shouts, struggling in the boy's grasp.

"We need her unharmed, Uma! Calm down, she's only trying to get in your head!"

It seems to be working too.

"Get rid of her before I do!" Uma pulls away from Harry roughly, storming away without as much as a glance my way.

"You are too much," Harry sighs, reaching to grab my arm.

I laugh, slipping away from his grasp, "you didn't think this would be easy, did you?"

The boy groans, taking off his hat and tossing it to the side, "I was hoping."

Damn he looks good without that hat. His hair is so fluffy, would it be weird if I just touched it?

"Poor you," I fake a pout, taking a few more steps away from the boy. "Hey, as our relationship grows I promise losing will become easier and easier."

"Who says I'm gonna lose?"

I place my hand under my chin, acting as if I'm thinking before replying, "Well you are the bad guy here, and it's pretty much a given that the bad guy always loses."

"You act like you're such a saint. You're just as bad as the rest of us, princess." Harry steps towards me, biting his lip before chuckling.

"What are you talking about?" I furrow my brows, taking two steps back each time he steps toward me.

He doesn't answer, only laughs, taking one last step in my direction. I take another step back, then another, frowning as my back hits the wall.

"I don't know what I was talking about, but it distracted you pretty well, yeah?"

"Motherfucker!" I mumble, gasping as he leans closer. He places one hand on the wall, the other grabbing my wrist gently.

"Such dirty words for such a pretty girl," he laughs, dropping his head to my neck.

My whole body tenses as his breath hits my neck, goosebumps cover my arms and I inhale deeply. I swallow hard, trying my best to re-compose myself but of that all goes crumbling down when he places a small kiss to my collarbone.

Are you seriously letting him win like this? He's playing you!

"Enough," I mutter, lamely attempting to push him away. He only chuckles, placing another kiss behind my ear. I frown, my blood beginning to boil. "I said, enough!" I shout this time, using all of my strength to push him away. He flies back into a few wooden boxes, eyes wide in shock as he crashes into them with so much force the boxes effortlessly break under him.

I ignore my shaking hands, my eyes just as wide as his. I didn't know I had that much strength. "I-I-"

What are you doing? Run!

I take small, slow steps at first, my brain too fuzzy to actually do anything.

"Well, well. Looks like you're a little powerhouse, aye darlin'?" Harry says as he stands up. He brushes himself off before smiling a crazy smile at me.

My mind suddenly goes back to the sword I stole, my hand reaching back to pull it from where I hid it under my skirt. I pull it out with ease, holding it up at the pirate as I walk backwards in the direction of what I only hope is the exit. "Call me darlin' again and I'll cut you!" I threaten, my hands trembling.

What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I acting so weak? I've been training to use this thing for months yet now as Harry stares at me from across the ship the stupid thing feels foreign in my hands.

"Oi!" he laughs, stepping towards me, "you're shaking like a leaf, darlin'"

I let out an irritated huff, slashing the sword at his dumb, pointless hook. "There's alot more where that came from, darlin'!" I warn as his hook falls to the ground with a loud bang.

"Fiesty," he nods, "that's hot."

The last part he mutters to himself and I'm pretty sure I wasn't meant to hear it, none the less a blush creeps its way onto my cheeks.

"Shut up!" I demand, glancing at the open exit behind me. "Please don't die! Please don't die!" I squeeze my eyes shut, throwing the blade in Harry's direction before taking off.

Why would you throw the sword, idiot? Now you have no way to defend yourself!

Unfortunately, I don't even make it a foot out the door because Uma's other sidekick, Gil I think his name was, steps infront of me.

"Oh, hey, Beverly! Harry was looking for you! Hey, Harry! I found the princess!"

I don't even try to hold back the dirty look I shoot the boy, "You've gotta be like Kronk's kid or something because you are dumb as a pile of rocks!" I state, rolling my eyes when Harry pulls my arms behind my back.

"Fucking Gil, ruining my escape like some dumb, moron idiot fucking bitch ass." I mutter to myself, not even bothering to fight as Harry pulls me into Ursula's Fish and Chip Shop.

"Easy, love." Harry whispers in my ear, clearly amused by my choice of vocabulary.

He sits me down at a table, giving me a look before making his way into what I'm assuming is the kitchen. I glance at the doors, weighing my chances of escaping if I run, but when Harry pops his head back out to give me the 'I'm watching you' signal I decide it'd be easier on me to stay still.

"I'm actually Gaston's son," Gil states matter-of-factly as he pulls up a chair beside me. "one of them, there's me, Gaston Jr. and Gaston III."

I narrow my eyes at the boy, muttering a small 'what?' as I cross my arms over my chest, leaning back in the chair.

"My dad, you said he's probably Kronk. Well ding ding you're wrong. My dad is Gaston."

"Oh?" I mutter slyly, "How would you feel about taking me to meet him? I mean he did try to kill my dad and all so it'd be cool to meet and smooth things over between our families, yeah?" I lie with so much ease it actually kind of scares me.

I made that up on the spot and it was pretty damn good!

"What a good idea! Too bad I can't." He frowns, leaning his head on his hand.

"Why?"

"My dad is gone." He sorrowfully informs me, the frown still etched on his face.

"Gone? Like de-"

"No, just gone. He said something about finding his real kids and disappeared one day." I let out a small gasp, placing my hand on his.

"I'm so sorry," I mumble, and for the first time in a long time I actually feel compassion and love like all of the other Auradon heroes. My heart hurts along with his and my eyes even tear up a bit.

Oh, God. I can't act like an Auradon girl right now. Not here of all places.

Unfortunately, I am an Auradon girl, it's who I truly am no matter how bad ass I wanted to be. And I was soon to learn that your roots always come back to you when you least expect them to.
