Chapter 4
Chapter 4
'Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!' My alarm clock went on and I quickly punch the snooze button causing it to shut off. I took a small peek and the clock says that it was seven o'clock in the morning. I tried all my best to stand up and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower and brush my teeth. After I was done, I went to my closet and pulled out a plain white shirt and jeans and put it on. Then I put my long, straight, brunette hair into a messy bun and put my sneakers on.
I went to the kitchen to get an apple from the fruit basket my aunt sent to me last week and took my keys by the counter. I collected all my books and binders and shoved it in my bag. I took my coat that was hanging on the coat rack beside the door and got out locking the door behind.
I went outside only to realize that my red, old, worn out pick up car was still at school since last night when Amber and I got kidnapped by Logan. I walked up to the bus stop and decided to take the bus instead of walking to school. I wasn't really in the mood and I had no energy to do so since I didn't get enough sleep last night thinking about Logan.
As soon as I got inside the school, Amber ran up to me and gave me a hug asking me how I was and if I was okay.
"Amber, I'm fine. Stop worrying about me, will ya?" I grinned at her.
"Can you blame me? I'm your best friend Bella. This is what best friends do for each other; I just want to help you."
"You're the best best friend you know that?"
"You're a one lucky girl to have a best friend like me." She beamed at me.
"Cocky much?" I raised an eyebrow.
"No, just saying the truth. After all, honesty is the best policy." She shrugged looping her arm around mine. "Now c'mon, let's go to class." She said dragging me with her.

When we entered the classroom, Logan wasn't at his usual seat. I was guessing that he won't show up today but then again, he was the Prince. He gets special treatments.
"Good morning Trendile High and this is Jaime Ryerson for your announcements today." He started. "First of all, I wanted to congratulate the basketball team for the outstanding game yesterday versus the Alberton High." This caused the boys who were in the basketball team in our class to let out yelps and cheers. "Way to go Tigers!" Jaime cheered.
"I also wanted to thank our Principal, Principal Larson, for her great generosity of holding a fundraising for the 'Kids with Cancer Organization' and donated all the money to them. And a special thanks to the Me to We club for helping out." He added.
"And I wanted to -" He paused as a strange sound of a door slamming open had been heard from the microphone. "Hold that thought Tigers; I think we have a more important message from our one and only Prince, Prince Logan Lacosco." He announced making some of the girls in our class to giggle. Oh no, please don't tell me that Logan's going to mention me to this ridiculous announcement. Here it comes...
"Prince Logan said that if Isabella Murray could kindly accept him back as his best friend it would really mean a lot." And there it goes... No way, he didn't just announce that in front of the whole school? My name being heard from the announcement made the whole class to glance at me and I didn't know what to do but hid my face with my hands in shame. I saw Amber in the corner of my eye shocked like everyone else.
"He also said that he's truly sorry for what he did and he hopes that you'll forgive him and be friends again. He hopes that you will give him time to explain everything to you and he is begging if you could give him the opportunity to talk to you." Jaime declared. "Well... that's all for announcement for today and have a great day Trendile high. Go tigers!" He finished but the words he just announced kept playing in my head.
I could feel the holes that were forming on my body by the stare of everybody in the class. I wish a big, dark hole would just appear and engulf my whole being. I couldn't think of anything else to do, so I stood up and took the hall pass from Ms. Blue's table and ran to the washroom.

I sure was glad that there was no one in the washroom. I opened the tap and splashed water on my face trying to wake myself up. Did Logan really just do that? Did really announced to everyone that we were best friends and now he wants to be friends again? Or was I dreaming and everything was an illusion?
I looked at my reflection in the mirror and talked to myself. "It's okay, Bella. You can do this. You're probably hearing things because you didn't sleep well last night. Yeah, yeah, that must be it." I persuaded myself staring into my own hazel eyes in the mirror.
I took a deep breath then I heard a knock on the door. I turned my gaze to the door wondering why someone was knocking if she could just go in without permission.
Then the person spoke and I nearly froze in my spot. "Isa? Isa, are you in there?" Logan asked still knocking at the door.
"No she's not!" I spat out feeling I needed to respond but I quickly shut my mouth with my hand.
"Really? Because you awfully sound like her." He replied and I could imagine him smirking by the way he talked.
"Well, every girl sounds the same with our high pitch voice, right?" I responded. I face-palmed myself for replying back to him, again. Why couldn't he just leave me alone? Haven't he done enough of humiliation in one day?
"I guess you have a very good point but I'm pretty sure I know how my best friend sounds like."
"She's not your best friend!" I snapped as heat started to rise on my cheeks and I felt my body boiled in anger.
"Maybe I'm not her best friend but for me, she's always going to be a part of my life and she's always going to be my best friend." He sighed.
I was utterly out of words; I didn't know what to say. Why did he have to make it so difficult for me? No matter how much I pushed him away he never gets tired of trying to win me back as his best friend. There was a long pause between us but he talked again.
"Isa, please talk to me. Please open the door. Please!" He pleaded.
To my annoyance, I quickly gave in and opened the door. The first thing I saw was the expression on his face which clearly told me that he was hurting.
"I'm sorry." He finally managed to choke out. "For everything." He whispered. Somehow, I couldn't look him in the eye and tell him what he should be sorry for. I got to admit it though, I felt guilt crawling up to my chest when I saw him this down and this hurt just because of me. I felt like I was tearing him apart and it hurts to know that it was my entire fault.
"Why are you apologizing?" I questioned weakly but kept the cold tone.
"You tell me, because I honestly don't know what's going on in that pretty, little head of yours."
"You want to know what's really going on in my head?"
"Yes."
"I think that you should just stay away from me and leave me alone. That whatever we had before is over. That's what I'm thinking." I blurted out.
"Is that what you really want?" He asked looking me in the eye like he was trying to read if I was lying or not. I didn't show him anything though. I just nodded my head in response.
He gave me a small smile and cupped his hands on my face and intensely looked at me. The next thing I know, he brushed his soft, warm lips to mine.
