I woke up in a palely lit room with cream tile flooring, an annoying beeping sound beside me. I groggily tried to swipe leftwards, thinking that my cookie cat alarm clock would be waiting for me, but all I got was air. I sat up, shivering from the cold, and struggled to remember where I was. The last thing I could remember was running down the hallway of the "Assimilation Bay", then everything went dark. I looked over to my right and discovered a heart monitor hooked up to my chest. I quickly ripped it off and turned off the machine, fearful that it would alert someone that I had torn it off my body.

"I wonder if a gem caught up to me..." I mused, sitting up, "That would be the most likely situation, but how come I can't remember?" I decided that constant worrying wouldn't get me anywhere and that I needed to find a way out of this room.

"Ok, the first order of business, look for any possible escape routes." I liked talking myself into a plan. It helped me express my thoughts better than just thinking about them in my head. While looking around the room, I found that It looked more engineered towards humans than the cells on the giant hand ship. There was a sink and the necessary toiletries in the back left corner of the room, but they only provided me with 1 roll of 1 ply, which was disappointing. I moved on to the left corner of the room, which housed a few hard pillows and a pile of blue clothing. I decided to change into the blue clothing, since the room was very cold and the clothing was long sleeved. Once I had them on I felt immediately better, and decided to wear my regular clothing underneath, because I didn't want to lose it. Right now, it was the only piece of home I had left. There was a little video camera on the wall that was tracking my every move.

"Maybe I shouldn't talk out loud." And then mentally scolded myself for talking out loud. The last thing left to check was the entrance way of the cell, which looked to bed a normal human door. To test if it was safe to touch (gem technology is WAY more advanced than earth's and it could be electrically wired to shock humans), I threw one of the surprisingly heavy pillows in the corner straight at the handle. I waited a few seconds, and to my relief, nothing happened. Hesitantly, I stepped towards the door and laid a finger on the handle, and waited a few more seconds. Nothing. I sighed in relief and pushed open the door

"Didn't think that it would be this easy..." I thought to myself as I stepped out of the door, and was delightfully greeted by metal bars to the head. Metal bars lined the entire wall of the cell, just like the jail cells you saw in the movies.

"What was the door for, show?!", I shouted angrily. As I was still groggy from the sudden impact, I got back up and sat in the middle of the room. As the room stopped spinning, I heard the door creak open and a voice starts up.

"Test subject 12AC seems to be awake and moving. Make a note Beta that morphine seems to have a small effect on the patient until it wakes up, when it then leaves the body completely."

"Yes mamm." There was shuffling around behind me and I finally worked up the courage to turn around. Before me was a dark green colored Peridot, and a tall, pale orange gem. While the orange gem was shuffling around the room, typing things on the Peridots outstretched touchpad and organizing various bottles with strange writing on them, the Peridot had noticed that I was awake.

"Make another note. The subject seems to be awake," She looked at me with genuine curiosity, before her facial expression was once again taken over by disgust, "Holly said that she would like to see it immediately, for testing. Prepare the chamber Beta." At this remark, the tall orange gem nodded quickly, and ran out the door quickly, and promptly returned with 2 small blue orbs. She then came close to me, and held out the blue orbs in her hands. She then whispered to me, "Please take them, or my superior will be disappointed in me, and I'm on my last lifeline here. Please, I don't want to be shattered." At this, I suddenly felt bad for this tall orange gem and nodded sympathetically as I took the small orbs from her hands into mine. "I'm sorry." She whispered before backing away. My whole body was slowly going numb. I tried to move, but in a few seconds, I was completely paralyzed.

"Good job Beta, now come along." I was picked up by the tall gem, and there was nothing I could do as she carried me out of the room.
