Chapter 3
While being carried by the tall orange gem, I decided that the best (and only) thing that I could do at the moment was looking at my surroundings. The room that we were in had many cells, but not many of them were occupied. I also noticed that the bay looked a lot like a human hospital, backing up the observation that I had made earlier, that this bay seemed more geared towards humans than gems.
"For now he'll be staying in the med bay, soon we'll have to arrange other quarters for the specimen, but for now, with the little preparation we have had, this is the best that we're going to do." The Peridot furiously tapped on her touchpad while leading the way to wherever she wanted us to go.
So I would be staying somewhere else? Hopefully, they would put me in a more gem based cell, hopefully, one with the tingly yellow wall like on the ship. This way, I could escape when all the gems were on duty, or whatever they did here. As we rounded a corner, I could feel my body loosen up, but I decided to stay still, so I could have the element of surprise when I jumped out of the gems arms. It was getting harder not to move as more of my body began to loosen up, even more, the tall gem was holding me in such an uncomfortable way. Finally, I couldn't stand it any longer. I kicked out of the gems arms, earning a grunt of surprise from her. I didn't look back to see the Peridot's reaction because I was too focused on getting away. Luckily, even in my semi-frightened state, my floaty powers still seemed to kick in a little bit, giving me more spring in my step, making me in a sense, faster. I knew that these gems were faster than me, probably a MILE faster, so the element of surprise was key. But now that I had surprise on my side, I realized a small flaw in my plan. Where was I going? My best chance was to find Pearl, Ruby, and Sapphire, but If they were still with Holly, she would find me and probably send all her guards after me, and if the gems tried to help they would be found out as well. So no, I couldn't find the gems until I had found my Dad. But that left the question, where was my Dad? Pearl mentioned something about a human zoo, could he possibly there? No, I was certain, he was there. So the next challenge to hop over would be how I would get there. I decided that the best course of action was to just go down random corridors, get as far away as possible from the gems that were chasing me. How long had I been in the cell before I woke up? A few hours? A few DAYS? Time seemed to blur as I ran. Left, right, left, another left, right again. It was a never ending cycle until I bumped into something.
"Owww..." I muttered and looked up to see what I had bumped into. It was tall and blue, and- "Meep!" I gasped before covering my mouth. But she had heard and felt me slam into her, and I struggled to run as she picked my up by the blue garment I wore, exposing my signature shirt. She looked at me in disgust.
"H-Holly!" I'm so sorry, we didn't realize that the advanced gem technology we had would have little effect on him as well, we, well I thought that his organic life form couldn't handle gem tech" The Peridot said, hastily making the diamond solute on her chest at the now agitated Holly.
"Give me the report, Beta." The tall orange gem had just caught up to the Peridot, hastily saying "Yes Holly Blue." and furiously tapping on the Peridots outstretched keypad.
"S-Subject awoke in 1 earth day, surprising for the amount of Morphine that was given to him." I gasped. I had already been here for one day?! And if Holly was here holding me, then where were the gems? Were they forced to leave? Would they leave? I now realized. I was truly alone.
"The OFFICIAL report"
"Y-yes Holly. Very sorry Holly. This is the official report. Test subject 12AC seems to be awake and moving. Morphine seems to have a small effect on the patient until it wakes up when it then leaves the body completely."
"Very good Beta." Holly turned towards the Peridot, I was still struggling in her arms.
"I assume that you were escorting it to the chamber for testing, as I had ordered."
"Y-Yes Holly." The Peridot looked relieved that she had at least gotten that part of her task completed.
"Then your job here is done. I'll take it from here."
