Rameses growled at the man once he was at our table.

"Calm down cat, I mean her no harm. May I sit here little miss?" The man asked.

"Sure." I replied despite Rameses' obvious discomfort.

"Get anything you want it's on me. But what I really want to know is what troubles you so much that you ran from your own sister I thought you two were as thick as thieves?" The man asked Rameses calmed down after he realised I knew the man.

"She and I just had an argument that's all." I replied as the waiter approached us.

"What can I get you to drink today?" The waiter asked.

"I'll take a water, and she will take a root beer." The man replied getting me my favorite drink, the waiter left with the order. How did he know what it was though, it seemed Rameses was unnerved about it too.

"Don't worry Morgan I have been watching over you for a while now, and no I am not a stalker."The man said answering my unasked question in all seriousness.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"You shouldn't ask questions you know the answer to it's impolite, but to answer your question again i'm a family friend." The man replied.

"I meant your name." I said slightly annoyed.

"You may call me Seth."The man replied as the waiter returned with the drinks

"May I get you anything to eat?" The waiter asked.

"I will have a steak rare please and she would like to order for herself." Seth told the waiter.

"May I have a cheeseburger and a serving of salmon for my cat?" I asked after taking a quick look at the menu.

"Yes ma'am, I will be back with your food in just a moment." The waiter said obviously amused by my politeness, I sank in my seat as the man left.

"You shouldn't be ashamed of having manners." Seth said seriously losing his joking air he had before.

"He has a point you know if you show that you are strong people won't try to hurt you." Rameses stated looking me in the eyes.

"Let us speak of other things." Seth said as if he knew that Rameses had told me something.

"Do you have any idea where I should go from here?" I asked Seth.

"When in a storm people flee fearful of the lightning and chaos it is only after they come out from their orderly hideaway do they realise the beauty that they missed." Seth replied.

"He isn't much help is he?" Rameses asked.

"If I told you all the answers, then what would you learn?" Seth asked confirming that he could hear the telepathic communication between Rameses and I. All of Rameses' hair stood on end as his hackles raised and he hissed at Seth.

"Ma'am if you can't keep your cat under control then I will have to ask you to take the cat back to your room." The waiter said returning with our food. Rameses calmed down and the waiter gave us our food and left, throughout though I could feel the distrust and anger radiating off of Rameses. I ate my cheeseburger while Seth ate his food ignoring Rameses' glare.

"Well I hope we can have another meeting soon, oh and this is for you." Seth stated handing me a wooden tube that was capped at both ends. He placed some money on the table before he left, both Rameses and I felt relieved that the tension was gone from the table.

"Here are your Ice creams, Hey where did the tall man go?" The waiter asked as he set a chocolate ice cream and a strawberry ice cream at the table.

"I have no idea but he left the money to pay the tab." I replied

"There you are I've been looking all over for you." Sorcha said reaching the table.

"Where did you get the money for food?" Sorcha asked as she sat down.

"I didn't the waiter treated me to it." I replied thankfully I rarely if ever lied to my sister so she believed me without question.

"Oh well can I have the strawberry please?" Sorcha asked.

"I don't see why not." I replied before the two of us started eating.

"Why did you lie to her?" Rameses asked.

"I don't need her to freak out at me over stranger danger." I replied in all honesty I didn't know why I lied to her.

The three of us returned to the room only to be greeted by my mother and aunt maya arguing.

"What is going on?" Sorcha asked.

"Nothing dear you and your sister just go to your room okay." Mother replied realizing we were there. I left to the room I had had enough fighting for one day; Sorcha and Rameses stayed behind most likely to argue. When I reached the room I sat on the bed and took a closer look at the wooden tube Seth had given me. Eventually I was able to open the case to find a scroll the only writing on it was a kind of border made of hieroglyphs.

" Morgan it's aunt Maya may I come in" aunt Maya asked knocking on the closed door. I scrambled to put the scroll back and hide it, I don't know why but a feeling in my gut told me that aunt Maya shouldn't see it not yet.

" come in" I replied having hidden the scroll. As soon as the door opened Rameses ran in and jumped onto the bed.

"Do you want to learn how to be a witch?" Aunt Maya asked as she walked into the room.

"I don't know." I replied as aunt Maya sat down next to me on the bed.

"You will never know unless you try." Aunt Maya said.

"So where do we start" I asked.

"Tomorrow before your mother wakes, I will take you to the mage's world to get the basic books." Aunt Maya replied.

"Am I to assume that mother is not to know of this?" I asked.

"Do you really think your mother would agree to this." Aunt Maya replied before getting up and leaving the room.

"You should get some sleep, you've had a long day and I have a feeling tomorrow won't be any easier." Rameses said as he turned around. I got up and fetched my simple lilac nightgown and changed. Afterwards I brushed my teeth and laid down in the bed Rameses jumped up and curled up next to me.
