Taehyung's POV
Elementals? That was, well, a unique name, honestly. It was different, better than having some random, weird, unnecessary group name that we each hated. The circle beneath us began to glow different colors, the ground beneath my feet turning dark blue and light blue.
I gulped, eyes meeting Glacius' and Drift's, standing upon their feet, staffs in their hands. The room disappeared and we were now in some massive, bright room. Below us looked like glass, the city I once called my home below me. I almost screamed, body tensing up tightly.
"Young men, do you see your city, the one you grew up in each day of your life?" We nodded slowly, meeting the god of light's eyes, his lips twitching up, eyes glowing. "It'll be destroyed if you don't help us. If you don't help out the civilians below, they'll be wiped from this planet."
"And not just those humans, but the rest all around the world. Earth as we know it will end if you, young men, don't work together to banish the evil." I gulped again, glancing at Glacius and Drift once more, their saddened eyes meeting mine. The glass disappeared and we were now in another room, this one even more massive.
There were seven large sections, each section about the size of a soccer field. Each section had different designs and elements, one had light, one had earth, one had spirit, and so forth. I was amazed, to be honest, but my face remained blank and composed.
"Welcome to the training room. Here, you and your god, or gods, will work together to master your powers and learn what you are capable of." My eyes locked onto the section in the far right corner, water and ice encasing the section, arches formed of both elements. I found myself smiling, eyes shining brightly.
"Let's begin introductions then we shall proceed to train, yes?" We nodded, the seven of us still staying within the circle below us, eyes focused on the gods that stood around us. The god of light went first, his fingertips glowing brightly, his staff spinning in the air, more light beginning to shine.
"My name is Illume! I am the God of light!" And just like that, light beamed from his whole body, my eyes forced into another squint. When the light died down, we clapped, eyes focusing on the goddess beside him. "My children, my name is Oria. I am the Goddess of Earth." Grass grew in the room, flowers blooming from her hands, a huge sense of calmness hitting me.
Woah, she was beautiful. Not her looks, although those were undeniably breathtaking, the way she could make the nature bloom with the touch of her fingertips or with just a few words said. That was beautiful, honestly.
The God who appeared to be half invisible was next, smirking widely, spinning his staff around, watching it turn into a scythe, my eyes narrowing. He looked like the grim reaper, in some ways, his eyes as black as the night. "My name is Spiris, and I am the God of Spirit."
Oh, well, that makes sense, doesn't it? Noted, don't get on his bad side, he might just take my soul. I hummed silently, glancing at the overly ecstatic lightning God. Lightning shot from his fingertips, sparks emitting from the lights shining in his room. "Elementals, my name is Volta! I am the God of Lightning and Thunder."
He's cool, I like him. The next God to introduce themself was the one who was surrounded by rapid winds. He extended a hand, the winds around him dying down into a breeze, the cool air hitting me, my lips twitching up to from a satisfied smile. "I am the God of Air and Wind, my name is Imperos."
He too was also cool, my eyes locking gazes with him, a smile stretched onto his features. He nodded my way, myself doing the same. Drift was next, taking his staff and pushing it out in front of him, his fingertips right in front of it. Water seeped from the staff, waves forming around us.
I was hit with a sense of calmness and relief, my eyes shutting, my smile widening, the water surrounded me too, waves formed around me. "My name is Drift, I am the God of Water." Glacius let out a low chuckle, letting his staff float beside him, his foot stomping on the ground once more.
This time, more deadly looking ice spikes formed, some around me as well, almost like the ice was protecting me from the gods and humans around. I took a deep breath, letting my god introduce himself. "My name is Glacius. I am the God of Ice."
The water and ice vanished into thin air, my eyes meeting theirs, laughs leaving our lips. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better pair of gods. The fire god went next, stepping up, fire seeping from his body, lava pouring from his fingertips. "My name is Smoldris. I am the God of Fire."
Flames surrounded all of us, temperatures rising insanely fast. The water and ice surrounded me, forming a protective boundary, one that caused every god and human to look my way. I had no way to control it, but it seemed as though the elemental magic was connected to my feelings.
When the fire disappeared, the water and ice lingered a little longer, finally evaporating away into the thin air. I gulped, seeing the god dressed in all black walk closer to us, eyes staring into my own. Despite how dangerous and terrifying he looked, I didn't feel one ounce of fear.
And I think he knew, because he smirked, hand outstretched towards me. "My name is Soros," He began, what looked like dark magic seeping from his fingertips and straight towards me, my eyes remaining focused on the god rather than his magic. "I am the God of Darkness."
So, that's who he was. Fascinating. The darkness he controlled began to swirl around me, touching my fingers and riding up my arms. It felt extremely calming, his eyes flickering with what looked like amusement. All eyes focused on me, the other six beside me widening their eyes.
The gods just seemed extremely interested, the darkness hitting my face and forming swirls on my hands, like some intricate tattoos. It completely engulfed me, and despite not knowing what the hell was happening, I felt powerful. It wasn't an overbearing feeling, but more like I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.
"Fascinating," The god spoke, his hand twitching slightly, more darkness spilling from his fingertips. The powerful feeling felt like it doubled, my lips twitching up to form a smile, eyes lighting up as well. "Tell me, young god of Water and Ice, does this hurt?"
He sent waves of darkness my way, letting it hit me, the magic seeping right into my veins and forming some intricate designs on my biceps. I hummed, feeling the power surge through me, the water and ice returning to the room, surrounding me again. "No, it doesn't, Soros."
He laughed, his darkness fading away, the intricate tattoos remaining on my biceps, the powerful feeling I felt remaining. "Seems you've found the perfect match, Drift and Glacius." They nodded, smiling widely, the rest of the gods clapping loudly.
What was going on?
"We'll explain what happened once you seven introduce yourselves to not only us but to your fellow teammates." I cocked an eyebrow. Teammates? Was that what we were now? Illume nodded at the male who possessed light, seeing his eyes light up some.
"My name is Kim Namjoon. I am the human who possesses the elemental magic of light." I smiled at Namjoon, seeing him do the same, dimples on display, eyes softening. I glanced at the male beside him, hearing him clear his throat. "My name is Kim Seokjin. I am the human who possesses the elemental magic of earth."
He seemed awfully kind, and I could already tell that we could rely on him for anything. Despite his magic, I feel like he's naturally a compassionate person, one who cares about everyone despite not knowing them. "My name is Min Yoongi. I am the human who possesses the elemental magic of Spirit."
I nodded, meeting his eyes, seeing the fear that flashed within them but the small smirk that twitched up upon his face. Beside him, the overly excited male was jumping about in his spot, this bright, radiant smile upon his face. Oh let me guess, you're Volta's human?
"Hi! My name's Jung Hoseok and I'm the human who possesses the elemental magic of Lightning!" I glanced at Hoseok, seeing him flash this big vibrant smile to everyone, my heart beating silently in my chest. I flashed him a smile too, glancing at the male beside me.
"Hello. My name is Park Jimin. I'm the human who possesses the elemental magic of Air." I smiled at Jimin, seeing his eyes flicker to meet mine, his lips twitching up to form a big smile while the rest of us nodded at him. I took a deep breath, glancing at the six around me. "My name is Kim Taehyung," I began.
Just like that, more water and ice surrounded me, my eyes widening a bit. "I am the human who possesses the elemental magic of Water and Ice." Soros snickered lowly, a smirk forming upon my face when I met his eyes, the excitement flashing with his own making me grow a little anxious.
The male beside me spoke, this cocky smirk upon his face, eyes dancing with fire, literally. "My name is Jeon Jungkook. I am the human who possesses the elemental magic of Fire." Smoldris and Jungkook met my gaze, smirks almost exactly the same, eyes dancing with amusement.
I don't like them.
The water and ice danced around my feet, swirling around my legs, surprisingly not managing to wet my pant legs. I hummed, seeing Soros walk over to me, the darkness beginning to surround me again, my eyes flickering up to meet his.
"I guess I owe you a little explanation, yeah?" I didn't say anything, I just stared into his pitch-black eyes, awaiting his next words. "You are the only human being among the seven to possess two powers, both water and ice." I hummed, arms crossing over my chest, his fingertips dancing with black swirls.
"With two powers comes more responsibility and, as assumed by gods over the thousands of years, more pressure to withstand the power they feel within them." Water appeared from under my feet, pushing me up off the ground and at eye level to Soros.
"Me being the God of Darkness, I found it fitting to test your strength, just to see how much you can truly handle." I cocked an eyebrow, letting myself just float above the other six, knowing all eyes were focused on Soros and I.
"I pushed my darkness towards you, seeing just how it would affect you." He smirked, the darkness seeping from his body and hitting mine, once again invading into my body and pouring into my veins. "Judging by the way your body relaxes and is easily letting the darkness seep in, you're extremely strong."
I furrowed my eyebrows, letting my features contort into those of confusion, looking Soros in the eyes. "You don't seem to understand how excruciating it may be to control two elemental powers. Given one can already be pushing the boundaries."
"Yet you, Kim Taehyung, are able to possess not only one, not two but three elemental magic powers and not dissipate into thin air." My eyebrows raised in shock, gasps heard from the six around me, my eyes widening as well.
"Allow me to demonstrate." With that, darkness spilled from his fingertips towards Jimin, the male who possessed air. There was a cry of pain that left his lips, my eyes widening even more, heart pounding in my chest. "Hey, wait!" I shouted, water and ice spilling from my fingertips and surrounding Jimin, shielding him from the darkness.
"Do you understand my point, Kim?" Soros laughed, his darkness flooding back into his body, my head moving up and down in a nod, the water around Jimin fading away. "I look forward to working with you in the near future. I'll be awaiting your call, Taehyung."
And just like that, Soros vanished, the only remains of his existence mere seconds ago was the little black swirls that made their way towards me. The water let me down, my eyes finding Jimin's, my legs pushing me towards him. "I'm so sorry, are you okay?"
He nodded, looking down at his forearm, a small little black swirl staining his skin. "Soros meant no harm, despite the fact that it may have seemed that way. There are eight elemental magics, only seven humans that we've found fit."
"Darkness is just as important as light, they balance one another out. Pouring all the light magic and all the dark magic into one human can cause something drastic to happen, hence why we want to train you first." I nodded, meeting Illume's eyes.
"But the point of your training is to also get your magic capabilities under control, so you six can also inherit the power of darkness, just like Taehyung here did." My eyes widened yet again, the intricate pitch-black tattoos on my biceps beginning to darken some more.
"With that being said, I hope you're all ready to begin. This process isn't one to be taken lightly, and yes, I'm talking about you Smoldris. Train hard, and don't give up." We nodded again, a loud scoff leaving Smoldris' lips, fire burning brighter.
"Let's begin."
