In the dark of night

- What happened to me? -

Taehyung's POV

The two men before me smiled, eyes focused upon my small figure as I tried my best to take a step back, to push myself away from the power that surrounded them. I felt strained like something was pushing me down and it took energy to keep myself up. It felt like a heavy weight was resting on top of me and I had to push it back up.

I gulped, finding myself unable to meet their gaze or return their smile, my eyes focused below them, the previous light that shone vanishing. We remained in what looked like a room of pure white, the blinding light that absorbed me long gone, as well as the tinges of blue.

"What happened to me?" Was the first thing that came to my mind, my thoughts said aloud into a question as I heard one of the men let out a deep chuckle. I froze at the sound, my body tensing up and my breath hitching once more. My eyes locked onto the two god-like men, taking in their appearance. The man on the left had dark blue eyes, something that reminded me of the deep ocean.

His hair was a mixture of black and blue, his hand holding onto a staff that had dark blue designs embroidered into it. The man to the left had light blue, almost icy eyes, a cold look on his face, and hands crossed over his chest, a floating staff beside him.

My eyes caught onto the staff, mesmerized by the decoration of it rather than the fact that it seemed to be floating. It looked like ice was sticking out of it, like it managed to puncture a hole within the staff and settle between them. I was drawn back to the men in front of me when one cleared their throat.

"Kim Taehyung," they repeated, the need to bow before them engulfing me, my body falling to the ground, one knee touching the white floor while my other foot held myself up on the ground. "Son, don't bow. Stand up," one practically roared, the power making me shiver, my breathing stopping.

I did as I was told to do, my mind racing with thoughts upon thoughts but my body forced itself to stand. "Taehyung, we've been watching you for quite some time now," said the one to the left, my jaw dropping wide open and eyes widening in utter shock. They had been watching me? What was that supposed to mean?

"We've been watching how you interact with others, we've been learning your strengths and weaknesses," the one to the right said, his voice slightly higher pitched than the other, but it still had the power laced within it, "and after a really long thought process, we've decided you are ready."

"Ready for what?" I found myself asking, features holding confusion as my hand raised up and clamped against my mouth, another laugh heard from both of them. Their smiles calmed me down some, my body trying it's best to relax but it's like my heart said no.

"Allow us to introduce ourselves," they said. The way they spoke in unison was both terrifying and amazing at the same time. It was like they were both connected of some sort, even their movements screamed unison. The man to the left raised his staff, water spilling from it and circling around him in one gigantic wave.

"My name is Drift," he announced, a huge smile upon his face, lighting up his features as the water seemed to dance around him, surrounding his large frame and engulfing his figure. Water spilled from both the staff and his fingertips, my eyes widened in both shock and fascination. "I'm the God of Water."

The God of Water? I'm standing before a god, maybe even two? The male to the right cracked his knuckles, taking a step back and slamming his foot into the ground. The power the mere stomp contained made be stumble back, ice forming from the ground in large, dangerous spikes. They surrounded him, forming something while his staff lit up.

"My name is Glacius," he stated, eyes burning into my soul as he flashed a smile, hands stretching outwards towards me. "I am the God of Ice." So, we had water and we had ice? I, Kim Taehyung, and standing before two powerful gods that possess powers? I must be hallucinating!

"Taehyung," they said, "Glacius and I are brothers. We work together through everything, that's why he and I stand before you today. We make decisions together and work our issues out together, and we have both decided that it is time to call you forth." I was totally lost, confusion laced within my features as I stared at the two gods before me.

"Son, Drift speaks the truth. We've decided that you are the human being that would serve us well. Like we've mentioned, we've been keeping a close eye on you. We've learned your strengths as well as your weaknesses, which only contributed more to our decision." I glanced at Glacius, seeing the spikes that were once surrounding him melt away into water.

"We've picked you to carry the elemental power of water and ice." I froze, seeing both water and ice come rushing my direction, engulfing me in a swift motion. I was surrounded by water, yet I could still breathe. I wasn't drowning like I thought I was. Power surged around me, finally pouring itself into my body. I screamed out, expecting excruciating pain yet received the opposite.

The water seemed to flood its way into my veins, the ice seeming to do the same, yet despite that, there was no pain. A feeling of power surged through me, the light that once absorbed me shining brightly once again. I glanced down, seeing my hands shine with light, my attire being changed.

Hair fell over my eyes, making me tilt my head to push it away. My once brown locks were now changed to grey ones, my brown eyes changing into blue ones. Then, all at once, the light, water, and ice were gone. I was levitating above the ground, meeting the gods at eye level.

"What you've just experienced is the elemental power we possess being transferred into your body." I nodded at the words, finding myself unable to speak, my voice hiding away. "Taehyung, answer this question honestly. Did the process you just experienced hurt?" My response was instant, eyes scanning over the two gods.

"Not at all." They smiled, my body slowly falling back to the ground, a wave of water swaying around me. "Excellent! That means our decision was correct, brother." Glacius and Drift both smiled at one another, clapping their hands together one time, the second echoing throughout the room.

"Kim Taehyung, you are now the being who possesses the elemental magic of water and ice. You, son, are the only human being to possess two powers from the gods." My eyes widened, not because of the mention of my new powers, but because of the fact that there seemed to be other humans? There were other people who just experienced the same thing I did?

"You mean, there are others?" They laughed, nodding their heads in unison as the wall to our right disappeared, a bright light shining through. I yelped in shock when I felt water push me forward, my body floating above the water instead of falling inside of it. "We'll see you soon!"

I was surrounded by silence, my eyes shutting as the light seemed to engulf me once more, blinding me. When I was able to reopen my eyes, I was standing in an enormous room, huge thrones seen in a circle around the room. They weren't your average throne, one that a mere human could sit in. No, they were massive thrones, ones that only giants, if they existed, would sit upon.

I stood alone in the room, my eyes flickering over the decor and the contents. Each throne was laced with something different. The first throne off to my left held pure white, lights shining from it that blinded me if I stared too long. Besides that throne was a brown one, trees surrounding the throne along with flowers, leaves, and fruits.

Besides that one stood another throne, this one slightly invisible, skulls decorating the top of the throne. I shuddered, turning away from it instantly. The next throne looked dangerous, sparks emitting from the seat. It looked electric, almost like I would get electrocuted if I dared to touch it.

Beside that throne was one surrounded by wind. Even from this distance, I could still manage to feel the slight breeze that moved my strands of hair around. Beside that throne were two others, one that had waterfalls surrounding it and another that was only a few feet away. My smile seemed to stretch upon my face subconsciously, my feet taking me towards the thrones.

Glacius' and Drift's thrones, my mind immediately registered. Beside Drift's water-filled throne was Glacius'. His was made of pure ice, both icicles and spikes hanging from the throne. The need to touch it sparked within me, my fingertips connecting with the ice. Instead of a shivering cold feeling that would numb my fingers if touched too long, I was met with a nice cool feeling.

It didn't hurt if I held onto the ice for too long, instead, it simply felt like a really soothing feeling. It was cool, but not cold. The realization hit me, my body moving back several steps as my mind tried to process what just happened. I could touch ice without it hurting me. I could touch ice without the feeling of pain after so long.

Beside Glacius' throne was one that had fire sprouting from it. My eyes narrowed on it, my mind seeming to wonder how fire and ice could be beside one another. Even better, how was the fire not melting the ice on the throne? Lava fell from behind the throne, fire dancing all around it.

Then off to the very end of the room, somewhat farther away than any of the previous thrones stood one that held this eerie yet enticing feeling. It was pitch black, the color of the midnight sky, black swirls dancing within and around the throne. Spikes of black poked out from the throne, my body shuddering with both fear and fascination.

A clapping sound from behind me snapped my attention out of its trance, my body turning around and my eyes scanning over the two gods I met mere minutes ago. "What do you think of the throne room, son?" I glanced around again, my eyes darting over to the black throne farther away from the rest.

"It's nice and all, but may I ask whose throne that is?" Drift seemed to sigh, taking a seat upon his throne as the water engulfed his arms when he put them on the armrest. "You'll find out soon enough, he's on his way now." I narrowed my eyes once more, finding myself nodding as a response.

They called me closer to them, my body standing in between the two massive thrones they called theirs. Drift used water to push me forward a bit, my body tensing at the feeling then soon falling into a state of relaxation. The water was calming. Was this how Drift felt when he touched the water?

Light shone from off to the far right of the throne room, my eyes darting over to see who would enter or why the light seemed to shine so brightly. My eyes landed on a man who wore a red cap, which happened to be backward, a striped shirt, and had blond hair. He was handsome, I had to admit that much.

His eyes found my own, a smile upon his face as I felt my body relax once more, the tension I held fading away. He seemed nice, judging by his smile that he held and the way his eyes softened upon landing on my frame. An odd feeling of trust surged through me, my mind racing. Maybe he was trustworthy.

He waved at me, my body doing the same as my hand raised in the air and moved side to side. A God stood behind him, the size of both Drift and Glacius entered behind the guy with blond hair. Light floated around him, a smile on his face as he took a seat on the throne and locked eyes with me.

"Glacius and Drift! You've found your human!" He shouted. Despite it sounding like a statement rather than a question, both the gods behind me nodded, smiles upon their faces. The God on the throne that shone pure light whispered something to the male, his eyes lighting up as they locked with my own.

"Hello! My name is Namjoon, Kim Namjoon. My power is light." My eyes widened in shock, my own eyes darting down to my hands. I cleared my throat, meeting his gaze once more while I opened my mouth to speak. "Hello. My name is Taehyung, Kim Taehyung. My power is both water and ice. Nice to meet you."

His mouth formed an o shape, eyes widening. "Two powers? Dude, that's so cool! Congratulations!" I smiled, nodding my head in a thank you. Before I could respond, light shone from the left, everyone's eyes darting over to see who entered next. A woman walked out, my mouth falling open in shock. She was no human, nor was she a god.

She was a goddess.

A flower crown rested upon her head, eyes soft and peaceful, the aura around her completely soothing and calm. She smiled at everyone, leading in a male from behind her. He poked his head around the goddess, waving his hands in the air. Even the aura he held was lovely, almost motherly.

"Hello! My name is Seokjin, but feel free to call me Jin!" The goddess smiled down at the human she chose for the power she possessed, taking a seat upon the throne that was decorated with leaves and flowers. "I possess the power of Earth." Ah, of course. That explains the motherly aura.

Mother earth.

We smiled at him, waving hello and seeing another light shine through. In walked a male who seemed cold-hearted, eyes staring with nothing but boredom at the throne room. In walked a god behind him, his appearance half invisible. Glacius stood up, walking up to the god and giving him a hug of some sort. "Spiris! How've you been?"

The human who walked in headed towards the throne with skulls upon it, standing beside it as he looked at his hands. I managed to catch a glimpse of his frame, seeing it shake. My eyes softened, soon falling to the floor. He was stone-cold because he was nervous. After all, who wouldn't be?

More light shone and in walked more gods and people. The next to walk in was another god with lightning bolts hitting his arms and legs, beside him was a male with way too much energy. He was practically bouncing off the walls, eyes wide with excitement. He waved at everyone, practically skipping over to the throne with the God.

Next to walk in was the God who had wind soar around him. We all felt the breeze as the God sat upon his throne, smiling at the others within the throne room. The male behind the god seemed bright and bubbly, a wide smile on his features. He was shorter than me, a smile stretching up upon my face.

Next to walk in was the god who possessed fire. Flames danced around his body, my heart skipping a beat with fear. He looked dangerous, even worse, he looked cocky. The male who followed behind him made my eyes narrow, a smirk upon his face. His smirk was smug, almost like the God's.

Great, he's cocky and most likely some brat.

He seemed young as well. I turned away from them, finding his eyes flicker upon mine. We all waited in silence for minutes, my body shaking slightly. The silence was getting to me, anticipation coursing through me. Finally, after it felt like hours passed, the light shone once more and in walked another God.

There was no human that followed him, it was just the God himself. Glacius and Spiris stood up, walking towards the God and giving him a hug. My eyes narrowed on his appearance, noticing him dressed in all black with dark, menacing swirls floating around him. This must be who Drift was talking about.

When all the gods, and goddess, took their seats, we humans were forced to walk forward into the inner circle, my eyes glancing back at both my gods. They nodded, pushing me forward some more. With a shaky sigh, I glanced around, seeing the humans before me just as nervous as I was.

"Young men," The God of light spoke out, standing up, "we have all chosen you because we believe you are strong enough to possess our power. Seen as you're standing before us today, you have proven us correct. You've not only managed to inherit our power, but you've managed to control it thus far." I found myself staring at my hands, heart beating quickly.

"We've chosen you seven for a very important reason. For thousands of years, us gods, and goddesses, have kept hidden from the human world. The humans don't know of our existence, and we plan to keep it that way. Only recently though have we learned about a new threat making its way into your world, the human world." I glanced up at the god, head tilting sideways in a form of confusion.

"The God from hell, or as we call it, the underworld, has been forming an army. He's planning on releasing all the enemies he has to take over and rule the human world and race." The males around me gasped, my eyes remaining focused on the God. "Since our identity remains our top priority, we needed to form an army just like the God of the underworld has."

"Young men, we've chosen each of you for that specific reason. Each god, and goddess, you see before you today has spent their time studying your actions, your feelings and emotions, your strengths, and your weaknesses." That's the same thing Drift and Glacius told me not too long ago as well.

"You were picked as the seven to possess elemental magic and save your world from the enemies that'll be arriving soon. You don't have much time, meaning you must master your powers within the next month." Everyone gasped again, my eyes widening. "The faith of the human world and your existence rests in each of your hands. You'll be putting your lives on the line, but we know that you'll understand the reason."

"After all, we didn't study you seven for no reason at all." I nodded, glancing back at my gods. "We'll do our best to train you, to help you, and to give you the tips and advice we see fit for the situation you're in. From this day forth, you are no longer regular human beings from the planet you call earth." The God of light smiled, each of the gods, and the goddess, throwing their hand into the air, magic spilling from them.

"You are Elementals!"
