Taehyung's POV
"Calling all Elementals to the throne room. Calling all Elementals to the throne room. Calling all Elementals to the throne room. Calling all Elemen-" A muffled scream was heard throughout the room, a pillow tossed directly up to the ceiling, hitting the patch of light that illuminated the room.
"Fucking shut up already! Damn it!" I stifled a laugh, burying my face in the warm blankets that surrounded me, unable to contain the smile that spread across my features. "I fucking swear! This whole goddamn month I've been here I've never had time to sleep in! Is that so much to ask for?!" This time, I did laugh, letting the blankets muffle the sound.
The light disappeared soon after, a series of curses heard throughout the room. "You good, cupcake?" I asked from my side of the room, propping myself up on my elbow and glancing at a very annoyed and very sleepy Jungkook. Fire danced within his hair, burning the strands a bit and lighting up his face.
"Don't even start with me, icy." I laughed, throwing my head back and letting it fall onto the pillows again. There was a giggle that was heard throughout the room alongside my laugh, an indication that he too was smiling now. "Icy? What kind of nickname is that?"
"Do you prefer me to call you IcyHot?"
"IcyHot? Like the medicine pain reliever thing?" I asked, struggling to contain another chuckle. He nodded, his hair bobbing up and down, sticking out from all different places. "Exactly like the medicine pain reliever thing." I chuckled again, shaking my head and throwing my legs off the bed.
"Sure, Cupcake. Call me IcyHot." With that, I stood up, the charms made of different magics falling down my chest, resting around my neck as I raised my arms into the air. I stretched, sighing as I looked out the window. There wasn't much to see, besides the clouds, but it was definitely day time.
"Maybe we should hurry," I said, glancing up at the ceiling, a tinge of light continuing to circle the walls a bit. He sighed, covers were thrown off him, a very annoyed Jungkook emerging from the sheets. "I guess," He said with an exasperated sigh, rolling his eyes and standing as well.
I was the first to reach the bathroom, grabbing my towel, and taking a quick shower. When I was done, Jungkook went in, a cycle that has been engraved within our bodies it's routine. I made my way to the closet, grabbing a new outfit, and waiting for my boyfriend.
Fifteen minutes later from when the announcement came on, we were out of our room, hands held together, and heading for the throne room. We arrived before the rest, heading towards the middle circle embroidered on the floor, continuing to hold hands.
Glacius, Drift, Smoldris, and Soros showed up sooner than we expected, the four of them flashing us bright smiles. "Today's the day, you know," Glacius said, taking a seat upon his throne, meeting my gaze with his own. I nodded, pulling away from Jungkook and launching myself up into the air, landing on his palm.
"I wanted to thank you." I could see both Glacius and Drift tilt their heads in confusion, eyebrows furrowing. "For what, son?" I smiled, pushing aside my tears, trying to remain calm despite the sudden rush of emotions. I had definitely grown attached to everyone here, and even if we weren't saying goodbye for good, I wouldn't see them as often.
"For everything you've done, starting from your powers that you shared with me to just being people I could rely on." They smiled, their magics dancing around their thrones and joining together. "And we thank you, for not only making us proud but for forming memories within our minds that we'll cherish forever."
I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face, my eyes lighting up with joy. If not being normal meant I was given a chance to have a boyfriend, meet five other friendly people who are now my friends, and form bonds with magical gods, then I'd take not being normal any day. Screw normality.
By now, all the other Elementals had arrived and the gods were waiting at their thrones. Soros was off in the corner of the room standing, arms crossed over his chest. I smiled, finding myself waving his way, his eyes lighting up at the gesture.
"The day we've been anticipating since your arrival has come. The underworld's evil has been released, and your job as Elementals is to prove that the good outweighs the bad." We nodded, all seven of us joining hands, magic dancing around us. "We believe in you, and despite us not being able to accompany you on your journey, we will forever be with you."
"You've made us proud, Elementals. In return for your hard work and improvement over the past month, we've given you the gift of flight, as well as one another surprise." As Illume's words reached an end, all the types of magic we each possessed rose up into the air, forming a giant ball of magic.
Then, it fell right on top of us, the power surging through our veins. I inhaled sharply, feeling my eyes shut as the magic traveled within me, doubling up and letting the power surge around us. When the feeling began to subside, I opened my eyes to meet Illume's. "We've doubled your magic power, Elementals."
We thanked them, looking around at one another. "We wish you luck on your journeys. We'll always be with you, and we look forward to seeing you at the end of each day, returning here to our castle within the sky." The gods met my eyes, all of them staring right at me.
The reason as to why? I'm the only Elemental to possess darkness, and darkness is the only magic to open portals. "Let the start of your new journey begin! We'll see you tonight, Elementals!" We didn't get to say a word before the floor underneath us was gone, the seven of us falling straight down.
My wings returned instantly, wrapping around my body and letting me spiral downwards. The only thing around us were clouds, thick and fluffy, the seven of us flying directly through them. Finally, the clouds began to lessen, the sight of the city taking view for the first time in this month's training.
"Get ready to fly!" Namjoon shouted over the wind, all of us barely able to make it out. We were falling quickly, wings around our bodies as we grew closer and closer to the buildings, the sight of the ground making us smile. It's been a month since we've seen the land, since we've even seen the city.
When we passed the roof of a skyscraper, we opened our wings and began to fly. I laughed, spinning horizontally through the air and flying past the buildings. It was early in the morning, at least judging by the sun that was barely over the horizon. The seven of us flew, smiles on our faces.
A trail of magic pointed in a certain direction, our instincts allowing us to follow it. We flew west, dodging the few skyscrapers that appeared within our line of sight. I was faster than the rest with Jungkook and Hoseok a close second, our wings taking us in the direction of the magic trail.
It wasn't until we got closer that we realized it was a building, but more specifically it was our building. "We have a building now?" Hoseok asked, tapping my shoulder and flying a little faster. I shrugged, laughing and spinning around in the air. "I guess so!" We reached the roof, letting our wings disappear as we stood.
Then, when it opened up, Hoseok and Jin screamed, the seven of us falling down onto a large trampoline and bouncing up. When I say large trampoline, I mean large. There were stairs off to the left, the roof beginning to close, and lights turning on.
Fancy, if you ask me.
"Greetings, Elementals!" The voice was familiar, almost too familiar, a smile forming on my face. "My name is Drift and I'm responsible for telling you about your upcoming missions." We pushed ourselves off the trampoline, fixing our clothes and hair, wings were gone as our eyes found the large speaker in the corner.
"If you head to the second floor, you'll find yourselves in the lounge where most meetings will be held." We did just that, heading to the second floor. There were four couches, a coffee table placed on a light grey rug, a massive flat-screen TV on the wall that displayed Drift and Illume's castle.
On the same floor and in another room was a kitchen, stocked with all different foods and two fridges. There was a giant island in the middle, a sink by one of the fridges, and tons of cabinets that stored both food and plates, bowls, utensils, and glasses.
"Have a seat," He said, the seven of us sitting down on the four couches. "To keep things nice and secretive, the lounge was built for you to not only relax but fit in. If you take a look at the coffee table, there are a few buttons on the side." There was one grey button and one red one.
"The red button will only activate once the grey one has been pressed once. Press the grey button." Namjoon did the honors, pushing in the button and sitting back. A noise came from beneath the coffee table, my eyes widening when it flipped around, displaying a map on the underside.
"Now press the red." Again, Namjoon did the honors, pressing the red button. A hologram appeared of the city, lit up in a light blue color and displaying the buildings. Red dots appeared on the map, my eyes narrowing onto them. "Seems trouble is already beginning in the city. See the red lights?"
"What about them?" Jimin asked, sitting with one leg crossed over the other, hands neatly folded onto his lap. "Those red lights indicate the enemies you Elementals are trying to rid of. The closer they get to the city, the more of a threat they become. Right now, you're only looking at Seoul," He explained.
"But if you tap the green button on the map, you'll be able to check in on another city anywhere in the world, even if it's on a different continent or in a different country." I hummed, scanning over the map. "So, these are the underworld's evil creatures, right?" I asked Drift, looking at the flat screen.
He nodded, flashing a quick smile. "Are they only in Seoul? If not, where are they?" Drift chuckled, forming a map in front of him, similar to the one we had. "Right now, they're only being released in Seoul, but I predict the next location will be Japan."
"So, we have to stop the ones here in Seoul and in Japan when they make an appearance?" I asked, trying to clarify what I was assuming. "Precisely. They'll make an appearance all over the world, from the States to Japan to Russia to Australia, you name it."
"I see why you made this a big deal," Yoongi spoke up, studying the map, watching as the red lights flickered and began to move slowly closer to the middle of the city. "See that white spot on the map?" We each nodded, our eyes locating the light. "That's you. The building you're in is your headquarters while you're on earth."
"Your goal is to keep those evil beings away from your headquarters and from the city. The closer they get, the higher the chance of them multiplying is. Their goal is to take over the human race by turning humans evil and forcing them to do the God of the Underworld's dirty work." We nodded in understanding, a beeping sound heard and a light beginning to flash on the map.
"What's that supposed to mean, Drift?" Jungkook asked, glancing at the flat screen with a confused look on his face. Drift laughed, pointing to the map he had in front of him. "The beeping sound is a warning. Whenever it goes off, it means trouble is stirring close by. The flashing red light indicates where the target is."
"So this means what exactly?" I asked, meeting Drift's eyes.
"This means you have your first mission, Elementals."
