Taehyung's POV
"Yo! You in here?" I heard someone yell from downstairs, my eyes flickering to the door, seeing the one who possessed fire standing by the door, arms crossed neatly over his chest. I groaned, turning away and continuing to look out the window, admiring the night sky.
I heard a thump come from the other side of the room, my eyes narrowing slightly as I shifted my gaze to the loft on Jungkook's side of the room. He was laying on the floor, shirt riding up his chest, a groan leaving his lips. "Fucks sake." I rolled my eyes, turning on my lamp and grabbing the small notebook on the nightstand.
"So, it seems we're roommates!" He shouted, my eyes shutting in annoyance, another groan leaving my lips. "Seems we are," I spoke, looking at the nightstand, seeing a pen neatly placed on the wooden surface. "Woah! You talk! Didn't know you could."
"Are you always this annoying?" I spat, barely meeting his gaze, my hand holding the pen tightly. "What's up your ass? I'm just trying to communicate with my partner and my roommate." I snickered, touching the pen to the paper inside the notebook, readying myself to write.
"Yeah, well, don't," I stated coldly, writing the date down and beginning to explain my morning. I heard a sigh from the other side of the room, followed by another, then another. I gripped the notebook, setting it down along with the pen, glaring at the idiot on the opposite side of me.
"What do you want?!" I shouted, growing frustrated with the lack of peace and quiet. He smirked, propping himself up on his elbow, lying sideways on his bed. "Just wanna talk." I rolled my eyes, leaning my head against the headboard, sighing.
"Let's get this over with." He snickered, fingers dancing in front of his face, a spark leaving his pointer finger. "How old are you?" I sighed again, glancing at the male. "Does it matter?" He nodded, his fingers sparking again.
"Yeah, actually. Can you answer the question?" I scoffed, shaking my head side to side, growing irritated, "Twenty-one." He hummed, flashing a small smile. "I'm nineteen." I glared at him, playing with the rose and dolphin that hung around my neck.
"Did I ask?" He smirked, sitting upright, tossing something into the air. "Don't care if you did or didn't." I clenched a fist, taking a deep breath, keeping myself from snapping. "Do you go to university?"
"I did," I spoke, staring at my hands. "Most likely not returning to that place again." He nodded in mutual agreement, sighing again. "I never want to university. I was homeschooled." I glanced at the male, cocking an eyebrow. "So you're one of those homeschooled brats."
"Hey! I'm not some brat!" I rolled my eyes, snickering again. "Please. You're Smoldris' human, you must be." He shot me a glare, eyes almost glowing, in a way. "You say that like you know him! I bet you don't know a thing about Smoldris!"
"And you do?" I shot back, cocking an eyebrow as he grew angry. "Considering he's my god, yeah! I know more than you know about him." I shrugged, playing with my hands, ice forming on my fingertips.
"I know more than enough, actually. He's cocky, just like you," I spat, never meeting his gaze, hearing him groan again. "Stop acting like you fucking know me, asshole." I shrugged, letting the ice encase my fingers completely.
"Whatever makes you sleep at night, kid." Fire flew from his fingertips, landing on my loft floor, my eyes narrowing as the wood began to catch on fire. I shot water from my palm, extinguishing the flames. "Fucking childish of you to do, Jungkook."
"Whatever, asshole." I scoffed, seeing the smoke float up and hit the ceiling, the fire completely put out. "What is your deal anyway? You seem to be some stuck up asshole who thinks you're better than everyone else."
"Excuse me?" I spat, finally meeting his gaze.
"You heard me! All throughout today, you hardly spared anyone a glance! You act all tough and better than everyone just because you have three powers now! Like, fuck you, dude." I clenched my hands into fists, feeling the power surge through me.
"Quit acting like you fucking know me, brat." He scoffed, shaking his head. "Fucking walked out at dinner, barely even acknowledging anyone. What, you think you're fucking immortal or something? Better than the rest of us just because you're more powerful?"
"It's not like that!" I shouted, the power surging through my veins. "Yeah? Sure fucking seems like it. You call me the brat, yet you don't even look at anyone! At least I acknowledged people at dinner, talked to them even! You just fucking left and ignored everyone."
"Yet I'm the brat." He laughed, anger bubbling up inside of me, my eyes shut tightly. "Stuck up bitch." I lost it, forming an ice spike in my hands, clutching it tightly and sending it flying right towards the male. It hit the wall, digging into the brick.
"Shut up! Stop acting like you fucking know what I've gone through!" I roared, darkness swirling around me. He shot me a glare, flipping me off right after. "Whatever. I didn't come here to hear some sob story, bitch. Here, we're supposed to be a team, so maybe grow a pair and start acting like a team player."
"Or go solo, who fucking cares." I wanted to scream, to hurt him so badly, to make him take everything back. I clenched my fists so tightly my knuckles turned white, eyes shutting. "You know nothing about me," I spoke, my voice lowering an octave.
"You know nothing about what I've gone through, or what I've had to deal with on a daily basis! You know nothing about my past relationships with people, so don't fucking act as if you do," I spat, glaring at the male opposite of me.
"I may have three powers, but I sure as hell don't believe I'm better than anyone. I sure as hell don't take what I have for fucking granted, and if you so much as believe I do, then you're asking for hell from me," I growled out, water dancing around my hand.
"I didn't talk to anyone because I have reasons not to! You don't know what I've gone through, what my life has consisted of! You don't fucking know the fear that runs through my body daily when I see another human being!" I roared, the darkness swirling around me, my eyes shutting.
"You don't fucking know anything, so quit telling me how to live my life! Quit acting like I'm so stuck up rich kid asshole!" The door flew open, light pouring into the room, blinding both of us. "I said lights out by ten, did I not?" A voice came, my mind easily recognizing it as Illume.
"Taehyung, keep that power under control." I felt weak, laying down on the bed, mumbling an apology. "Get along you two. If I catch you arguing again, you'll be spending the whole day with one another tomorrow, locked in this room."
"Am I understood, young masters of water and fire?" We nodded, mumbling a yes sir, letting the light seep out of the room. I laid on the bed, staring up at the night sky which was painted with glowing stars, flickering like lights.
"I'm sorry," Jungkook spoke, his voice deadly calm. "I took it too far, I understand that. You're right, I don't know anything about you, but just like you said, don't assume things. You know nothing about me, so don't assume I'm some brat." I looked at Jungkook, my mind racing.
"Fine," I spoke, staring at the ceiling, feeling all these emotions come crashing down on me. "Sorry," I mumbled, knowing he probably heard me. He hummed, laying down too, shuffling of the sheets heard not too far away.
"Shall we start over?" I glanced at Jungkook, scoffing silently. "I guess," I muttered, not taking too much interest in getting to know him. Truthfully, I could care less about anyone here. I just wanted to master these powers and work alone.
"I'm Jeon Jungkook, nineteen, the human who possesses the elemental magic of Fire." I felt my lips twitch up, forming a small smile. "I'm Kim Taehyung, twenty-one, the human who possesses the elemental magics of water, ice, and darkness." He laughed a bit, propped on one elbow again.
"You met Soros today, didn't you? Like you met him at his house or whatever?" I laughed, thinking back at Soros' 'house', "More like a palace made of Darkness, but yes I did. Why?" I glanced at Jungkook, seeing him smile.
"Saw you vanish, so I was curious." I hummed, playing with the black rose on my necklace. "What did you think of him? Soros I mean." I cocked an eyebrow, laying flat on the bed, the blankets engulfing me. "I mean, he's chill. I like him, honestly. Sure he possesses darkness, but that doesn't mean he's evil."
"I suppose you're right. He seems a little, I don't know, eerie? Like, those dark swirls that float around him, creepy." I laughed, thinking about the tendrils that floated around him when I visited him. Creepy? Maybe, but definitely cool.
"How are your gods? Are they nice?" I glanced at Jungkook, seeing his eyes sparkle a bit. "Yeah, Glacius and Drift are nice. I like 'em both. They're friendly and funny, I can't wait to work with them." He hummed, sighing softly.
"And Smoldris? How is that cocky fucker?" Jungkook laughed, hands placed behind his head as he laid on his bed, back pressed up against the sheets. "Believe it or not, he's actually really nice and fun. He's looking out for me, I know it well enough."
"Really now? Smoldris doesn't look like the type of God to do such a thing," I commented, seeing Jungkook roll his eyes. "Yeah, well, he is. What he shows to others isn't how he truly is. To you, he may be some cocky bastard, but to me, he's almost like a parent."
I found myself smiling at that, a small chuckle leaving my lips. "Well, I'm glad you like your god. Imagine if you didn't? I wonder how that would play out." Jungkook snickered, nodding slowly. "Probably wouldn't work out too well, huh?"
I laughed, shaking my head. "I suppose not." We laughed, facing one another, smiles on our faces. "You know, Kim, you're not that bad once you relax and actually give someone a chance." I raised my eyebrows, looking at him.
"Who said I was giving you a chance?" I teased, smiling at the younger. "But thanks. You're not too bad yourself, Jeon." He smirked, letting his fingers light on fire, shooting some up into the air.
"Do you think we have a shot at being superheroes? Like, from the movies and books?" I cocked an eyebrow, letting some water dance around my fingers, weaving in and out of my palm. "With these powers? I guess we do."
We laughed a bit, laying on the beds and staring at the ceiling above us. "Today's been super crazy," I commented, hearing Jungkook hum in agreement. "It has. I went from being a part of this normal family to being, well, an Elemental."
I hummed too, thinking about it. Our lives really did change, and drastically too. There's no possible way we could go back to the way we were, kids in school, and a part of our families. "I'm going to sleep now. Thanks for talking to me." Jungkook giggled, but something deeper came from those words.
I wonder what he meant.
"Goodnight, Jeon," I said aloud, hearing him mumble a good night. I turned over, laying on my side and facing the night sky, seeing the stars flicker once again. What did Jungkook mean when he said that?
I took a deep breath, shutting my eyes, and letting my body relax. In the morning, I'll be starting a new day as an Elemental, a being that possesses three powers. I'll be working with a teammate to master my powers, and I just hope everything will work out.
I glanced back over at Jungkook, seeing him lay face down into the mattress, clothes from today on, breathing steady. I stifled a laugh, turning back over and shaking my head.
Jeon Jungkook.
I still dislike you.

They're talking! Off to a slow start but we're getting somewhere. Tomorrow marks the official day of team training, and all gods will be there to help out.
Will these two continue to bicker?
Who will be the next teammate to receive Soros' power? Remember, darkness was to be distributed through all the Elementals, not just poured into one.
I purple you 💜
