"Agh my side still hurts, walking to work is going to be such hell" I groaned, finishing my coffee and standing up to pull on my coat and boots. Leah rolled her eyes and grabbed my phone out of my hand, rushing away to the kitchen. My eyes widened and I dropped my shoes, running after her. Whatever was on her mind, was not a good idea for sure.
"This is a perfect opportunity to take up the offer of that dude that ran you over!" the blonde grinned, typing away on my phone as I tried my best to reach for it. Damn tall people. WHY AM I SO SHORT?! I climbed up on the counter and finally grasped my phone, looking at the screen and swearing under my breath as I noticed that the message was already sent.
"LEAH!" my voice echoed through the apartment as the blonde ran out. She sent our address to some dude that I met once who also ran me over. Great. Wait. I looked back down on the phone screen to see she also wrote to pick me up and drive me to work because I don't feel well. Pfft like he's actually going to turn up....unless he's a psyscho that turns up in the middle of the night and tries to kill us...
I shook my head and just as I was about to place the device in my pocket, it buzzed and the screen lit up, making me pull the phone back out and check what was the sudden notification. Text Message? Random number... Oh wait it's the guy.
Hey, I'm close by, I'll be there in a second
Did he just say he's going to pick me up?
"LEAH!" I yelled again, this time the blonde rushing over to me and glancing over my shoulder before grinning victoriously and strolling away to get ready. I considered texting him to say it was my friend's prank or just her being stupid, but after a few attempts of starting to try make an excuse, I'd press backspace yet again. Soon enough there was a knock on the door and the tall guy stood just outside, his hands in his pockets, looking down and waiting. Leah smirked and opened the door. I sighed and walked over, already wearing my shoes and jacket,
"Um hey, I'm sorry I wasn't going to ask you for anything but then my friend stole my phone um yeah" I chuckled awkwardly. Tom looked up and smiled, shaking his head instantly,
"No no it's alright. I still feel bad about what happened and hope I can do more than just drive you to work" he stated. Leah visibly changed in face as she stared at the boy in front of her. Her eyes widened and for once, it seemed as though she forgot how to speak all together. I threw her a questioning glance as Tom invited us to go sit down in his car so we could get going. Leah stood there in the same position until I nudged her and she literally jumped, her mouth opening slightly as though she was about to scream.
I glanced at Tom in the car, but turned away to walk to the bus stop instead. Leah and Tom exchanged glances before the blonde quickly ran after me,
"CHARLIE WAIT!" She yelled, breathing heavily as she finally caught up and walked beside me, "wooh Jeez, where are you going? The car is right there!" She pointed at the jaguar which was now driving after us. I shook my head,
"I'm not getting into a stranger's car you weirdo" I chuckled. Leah furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and then sighed and rolled her eyes, crossing her hands over her chest. There was a beeping sound behind us and we glanced back to see Tom drive closer to us,
"I promise I'm not a murderer!" Tom yelled. I grabbed Leah's hand before she could say anything and pulled her to carry on walking towards the bus stop. She tried to protest and convince me but I simply shook my head and tried ignoring her.
BEEP
Goddammit he's not gonna leave me alone is he?!
BEEP
I swear to God.
BEEP
That's it! Enough. I let go of Leah's hand and twisted around, almost knocking someone over accidentally as I stomped over to the car which has now stopped. I opened the door of the car and was about to yell something when Tom spoke up,
"I simply feel bad about what I've done. Please, let me help" he looked up at me with a frown.
I stared at him and bit my lip, debating what I should do as Leah came up behind me. I sighed and nodded, "Alright fine, but if you end up a creepy stalker and murderer then I swear to god!" I huffed, opening the front seat door and hopping inside. Leah had a wide grin on her face as she got in too quickly. I couldn't help but feel like she knew something that I didn't. When she saw Tom at the door she was so...shocked? I'll just have to ask her at work. My gaze fell on the tall brunette beside me as I noticed him trying to hide a smile by biting his lip. He started the car once more, now driving down the road.
