A/N: Just a heads up, I should have included this in the previous chapter, but I forgot, so here it is now. There will be major spoilers for those who have never played DISPATCH or seen the gameplay; therefore, I highly suggest that you go play the game (highly recommend it) or watch it so you understand it better, or don't, it's all up to you. A Few Months Later

"Come on, it'll be fun~"

BZZT!

"No one is coming to save you"

VRRRR!

"Just, leave me alone Y/N"

CRACK!

"YOU ARE NOTHING"....

BOOM!

Y/N: *gasps!*

As Y/N sat straight up from his bed, he realized he was covered in a cold sweat. His breathing was rapid as he quickly felt around his body to make sure no limbs were missing. As he slowly took in that he was fine, he realized that he'd just had another nightmare.

???: *light grumble* Mmmph!

As he took in the voice beside him, he remembered that he had gotten smashed from the booze. It had been a night of celebration as he "officially" on his way to becoming a hero. Sure, he did get to work with many of the heroes at SDN, but that was training. As of today, he would be joining the Phoenix Program on its first day.  He still remembers back when he was sober and agreed to the whole idea.

At SDN Headquarters [L.A. Branch] Y/N had the whole tour where he met some of the office people he'd be working alongside with. Some were pretty chill and decent like Galen who was one of the Dispatchers.

Others made him do a double take like Lana who worked in the mailroom and Becky whose hero name was Chick Magnet. 

Then there was a mascot....a literal MASCOT who worked there as well...

... No, seriously that was real. Then of course there was one of the "meanest" and "grumpiest" dispatchers that he ever had the pleasure of meeting...which was his personal favorite since that had been a long last "family members" of Y/N's. His name was Chase.

Now many would probably wonder how someone like Black Einstein could be related to Y/N, well that was the best part he wasn't. Chase had been like an older brother to him and his best friend back when they were kids.... well former best friend anyway.

But back then he wasn't old physically. Due to how Chase's powers worked it had sped up his aging every time he used his powers. Kinda ironic since his power was superspeed and he was now barely thirty-nine. Chase was actually one of the youngest members of the of the Brave Brigade.

Compared to how he was now to then, Y/N felt bad for the guy. yet that was deep down after the fact that he got his ass told off when Chase found out what he had been doing ever since he had gotten his powers. Oh, words were said, Swears were yelled and there may have been the occasional slur... but hey that's family.

Y/N chuckled at that memory, then he saw the sun slowly beginning to rise so he decided to get a quick shower in and then make breakfast for both him and his "bedmate".

Short Timeskip

After he was clean and the food was done, he returned to the bedroom and put the second plate of food by a nightstand. By that time, he was washed up and dressed as the other in the bed finally woke up.

???: *yawns* What time is it?

Y/N: Time to still get some food in before we need to get to SDN.

???: Oh...*realizes exactly where they're at and gasps!* Oh my god!

The one who was now freaking out was a woman with brown hair and lovely blue eyes.

???: H-How did this happen?! I-I mean I-m in your room a-and-

Y/N: *chuckles* Ease up there Mandy nothing happened. Well, nothing much.

Mandy: What do you mean nothing happened?! Last night you and I were kissing and then a-and then-

Y/N: *cuts her off* And then you passed out on my chest, so I just let you sleep in my bed. That was that. I mean you were in your underwear but that because you chose to strip down.

Mandy: *hands on her face embarrassed* Oh god.

Y/N: *smirks* What, I didn't mind. But after your little show that was basically that.

Mandy: That night be, but that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Y/N: Why cause you're technically dating one of the top heroes?

Mandy didn't respond verbally as she looked away.

Y/N: *gets his gear on* Look, we kissed and that was that. If you want, I could apologize to you and him if that would make it better.

Mandy: *rolls her eyes* Oh, right like you could just go up to him and say "Hey morning oh by the way sorry but I kissed you girlfriend". *notices her plate and slowly starts to eat* Thank you by the way.

Y/N: *nearly done getting dressed* No problem and I mean I could do all of that. You know I literally told him that you were beautiful, and he chuckled and agreed. He even said if I wanted to "make love to you" I could.

Mandy: *spit-takes and nearly chokes* Y-You know he doesn't mean THAT!

Y/N: *puts his hood on* "Whatever do you mean?" I was just talking about hugging or maybe kissing, ya know like last night. "What did you think I was talking about?

Mandy: *groans* Y/N...

Y/N: What~? I'm just saying what he said word for word. I mean you do know he likes "making love" to me too right? *chuckles*

Mandy: Y/N!

Y/N: Alright fine, don't get jealous now.

Mandy: Can you please be serious about this?

Y/N: *rolls eyes* Fine I guess, but in return for not saying anything I want a favor.

Mandy: *suspicious* What kind of favor exactly?

By this point, Y/N was fully in his gear and had checked everything he needed. Just before he put his facemask on, he turned to Mandy with a neutral look on his face.

Y/N: When we get back tonight... can you give me an answer on what are we?

Mandy: *confused* What are you talking about?

Y/N: I mean what are we relationship-wise?

That caused her to go wide eye as he bluntly asked her.

Y/N: I get you relationship is complicated because it basically started as a PR gimmick that turned real for the most point, but even you have to see it by now that Phenomaman sees it as the REAL thing. I get how you feel that it's best for the company and all, but if your heart's not in it, then I'd just tell the poor guy before it goes any further.

Mandy: I-I know that.

Y/N: Of course, that still doesn't answer my question.

Mandy: Well, we're roommates and now we'll officially be teammates and coworkers of the same team.

Y/N: Mandy... "Roommates" wouldn't usually hang out with each other most of the time they're out in the public unless they were close like that. "Teammates" wouldn't drunkenly flirt with each other unless they wanted HR involved. And most importantly "Coworkers" wouldn't make out with each other unless there was a reason. *sighs* Sure you can blame the alcohol if you want, but that's all you. You might see it as nothing more than a mistake...but that's just you.

As Mandy took in what Y/N said, she knew what he really was asking but didn't know how to answer right now. Before she could even reply she saw that he was already out the door.

Mandy: *sighs* Dammit.

Location: SDN Headquarters [L.A. Branch]

Y/N or more specifically LEGION had decided to take a shortcut by flying to work (less traffic). As landed in front of the building, he stopped and took a minute to take it all in. He saw that at the top front there was now a banner that read: Welcome, Phoenixes!

Y/N: *in his mind* Well this is it.

Bzzztt!

Just as he was about to head in, he saw that right by him a rift opened up and out stepped two figures. One of these figures had what looked like a business suit on but what made him very... "distinguished"... was the fact that he had the head of a bat.

A/N: Voiced by Charles Christopher White Jr. AKA: Cr1TiKal AKA: Moist Critical. Just the suit form.... for now.

And the other figure was a demon... no seriously a LITERAL DEMON. She happened to wore a familiar looking white top and booty shorts and was very well fit.

When Y/N took a better look at the two, he could tell that they had decided to get drunk and high the previous night. As to how could tell that, well....

...it was kinda obvious.

Y/N: *still in his mind* So I'm most likely working along Man-Bat and the hot demon chick from Baldur's Gate 3...heh, and here I thought my first day would be boring~.

Oh, it certainly wasn't, and these were only two of the many new coworkers that he would be working with in the Phoenix Program. If they were anything like those two then Y/N was really going to have a good time here.
