Estelle
When we get to the intricately designed palace, Daxx and Leeciy join our squad, walking me into Lexon's Quarters.
His room was covered with sketches and pictures of a mishmash of flowers and insects.
He looks me up and down before standing up. "Estelle."
"Lexon." I say.
Latonya grabs Daxx and leaves, but Leeciy stays.
"It's nice to finally see you in person." He says, grabbing my arm and kissing up it.
I pull it away, furrowing my brows. "What was that for?"
"It's how a gentlemen greets a woman." Lexon says, sitting back down in his plush orange chair.
I feel Leeciy's hand on the small of my back, his thumb rubbing a soothing pattern.
"As you know, this is Taeron, and we are glad to have you and your friends accompany us." He says. "Our porines made a dome above us, so the Americans can't track you."
"That's good to know." I say.
"And in case they find a loophole, I've assigned three guards to protect you." Lexon says. "One will stay with you at all times, and I know you're very acquainted with Leeciy here, he will probably be the one with you."
I nod, looking up at him.
He was watching Lexon, with cautious eyes.
"The rest of the parliament wants to meet you, so I was thinking we'd do that today." Lexon says, getting out of his chair. "Follow me."
I move out of the way, so he can walk ahead of us.
Leeciy exits with me, looking down at me.
"Nivea is very excited to meet you." Lexon says, walking down the halle, his loafers making a clicking noise on the cold marble. "As is Tavish, but he's a little strange."
I look up at Leeciy who had his eyes trained forward.
Lexon opens the door to a jewel encrusted room. "Indira!"
A tall woman walks from the stairs, that almost blended into the wall. "Yes Lexon?"
"She's here to see you."
Indira was a woman who was decorated with silk robes with gold accents, her dark hair contrasts with her pale skin, and her black nails made her small hands seem smaller. "Estelle!"
"Hi." I say, looking up at her. "You're tall."
"As I've been told." She says. "Are you meeting everyone today?"
"She is." Lexon cuts in. "She doesn't have a lot of time."
Indira looks down at me. "I hope to see you again."
I nod. "Thank you, Indira, I hope to see you too."
Lexon basically drags me out, walking us down the hall.
"She was nice." I say, trying to make conversation.
Lexon laughs. "She's nice until you get to know her, then she's cruel."
I sigh, looking up at Leeciy.
He shrugs at me, giving me a small smile.
"Alright, who's next?" I ask.
***
Leeciy walks me home.
"You didn't talk a lot today." I say, standing in front of my door.
He shrugs. "I felt a little out of place."
I open my door. "Would you like to come in?"
He nods, walking in, slipping his boots off at the door.
I slip off my shoes too. "Tea?"
"I haven't had tea in forever." He breathes, walking to one of the bar stools, sitting down.
I walk into the kitchen, searching around for a pan, then filling said pan with water, setting it on a stove burner.
"I'm gonna change, can you keep an eye on that?"
He nods.
I walk into my bedroom, changing into a pair of joggers and a t-shirt.
I walk back out to find Leeciy at the stove.
"Is it boiling?" I ask.
"You forgot to turn on the burner." He answers turning around.
I walk into the kitchen, watching him.
Once the oven beeps he steps away.
"I don't like these ovens." He murmurs. "Too complex."
I nod.
He looks over at me, and smiles softly. "You look like South-side you."
"I do?" I ask.
He nods. "You're in pajamas that aren't dirty."
"Well, what can I say?" I shrug. "I'm not South-side me."
"You look like it." He pauses, looking at my face. "Can I kiss you?"
"Yeah." I say.
He takes two strides forward and presses his lips to mine, his hand ruffling through my hair.
My hand finds its usual place, right over his scar his ribs.
His other hand slips under my shirt, settling on the bandages that covered my wound.
I wrap my other arm around his neck, pulling myself up so the meeting of our lips wasn't so awkward.
Electricity spills through my body, making me numb and tingly. It was pleasant.
He pulls away. "I've wanted to do that since I first saw you this morning."
I look over his shoulder to see the water bubbling over.
I rush over to it, taking the pot off the burner, pressing the off button next to the time. "We forgot about the tea."
"That we did."
I search around the cupboard before grabbing a box of tea. "Chamomile, or green?"
"I like green."
"Me too." I take two green teabags out of the box.
He sets two mugs on the counter.
I place a teabag in each.
He pours the steamy water.
"I think it still might be a little hot." I say, looking at the large amount of steam leaving the mugs.
He kisses my temple. "Should we watch a movie?"
"A movie?" I ask. "I haven't watched a movie in ages."
"Well, let's watch one." He says, grabbing his mug, bringing it over to the coffee table.
I follow.
He sets up the TV before putting on some superhero, which makes me grin, because that's my favorite type of movie.
Leeciy walks over to the couch, sitting down.
I sit next to him, my eyes focused on the movie, taking a sip of my tea.
He chuckles leaning back.
I lay my head on his chest, watching the movie.
The tea might've been a waste, because maybe twenty minutes into the movie, I fell asleep on Leeciy's chest with a throw blanket around my shoulder.
