Estelle
The cotton comforter felt foreign on my shoulder blades, and that's what woke me up.
I heard footsteps on the wood, leading out of my bedroom.
"Leeciy?" I ask, my voice croaky from sleeping.
"Yeah?" He replies, his own voice slightly croaky too.
I clear my throat. "Will you stay?"
There's a silence before there's footsteps leading back towards me. "I'll stay."
The bed dips next to me, and I fell his hand in my hair a second later.
"Do I have to do anything tomorrow?" I ask, grabbing a fistful of his shirt.
"No, Gabrie'll come around and change your bandages, and then you can just hang out."
"What about you?" I ask.
"I have training, that'll take up a lot of the morning."
"So I'll be alone?" I ask.
"Gabrie will be here. You can talk to her."
"She'll probably fake my murder." I mutter. "That lady hates me."
"Hey, calm down, try and get some sleep."
"Will you be here when I wake up?" I ask, snuggling into his shoulder.
"I dunno. I'll make you breakfast and leave a note if I'm not." He assures, rubbing my arm.
I nod, staring at the ceiling, eventually passing out.

Leeciy wasn't there when I woke up, but there was a note written on a napkin.
'I made you breakfast like I promised.
xx Leeciy.'

I push myself out of bed and walk out, my socks slipping on the cold floor.
I walk to the main room and take in the smell of coffee and food.
Breakfast was presented on a white plate that was set next to a white mug.
A note was next to that.
'Coffee - Two sugars and coffee creamer.
Pancakes - Just as you like them.
I sprinkled the apple slices with cinnamon because Cirus likes that, I highly recommend.
xx Leeciy'
I drink the coffee with a small grin on my face, before digging into the pancakes.
They were heavenly, and it made me remember how much I love Leeciy's cooking.
I finish with the apples, which were pretty good.
I wash out the dishes, before noticing a button on the wall.
Naturally, I press it, and one of the floor-to-ceiling windows opens like a door, a balcony sliding out from some slot outside the window.
I look out at it before shutting the glass doors. Maybe Gabrie would want to go out there with me.
As if on cue, Gabrie walks in, her hair pulled up into a tight bun.
I walk out of the kitchen.
"How are you feeling? Any pain?" She asks.
"Nothing too obscure. When do I get the stitches out?" I ask.
"Well, let's look then I'll tell you." She says. "You can just pull up your shirt."
I pull it up, sticking the hem of it into my mouth, so it doesn't fall back down on her.
She unwinds the stained bandages, bunching them up and setting them on the floor. She examines the stitches. "Probably a month or so if you don't rip them again."
I chuckle.
She starts re-wrapping my wound with clean bandages, finishing quickly. "You have a very nice place."
I drop my shirt. "Thanks."
"No really, it's huge, and only for you and September." She exhales exasperatedly. "Wow, you're so lucky."
"Well, you'll probably be upgraded once the twins come around." I say, motioning to her stomach.
She absentmindedly sets her hand on her stomach. "Can you give me a tour?"
"Why, of course!"
***
The tour was much more pleasant than I thought it would be.
Gabrie had changed for the better, she was much like her way younger self now.
"Anyway, we wrap the tour up with the balcony." I push open the glass doors.
She looks out. "No safety railing?"
"Well, there's no toddlers around so I guess-- " I step out onto the balcony, my sock and the marble not creating enough friction so I slip, falling off the side.
My hand instinctively grabs the side of the balcony.
"Oh my god!" Gabrie yells.
I feel a sharp pain in my side and wince.
"I'm gonna go get some help!" I hear footsteps then yelling.
I try and pull myself up, but it only makes the pain in my side increase. I look down and see the street below me, people not even paying attention.
I watch Leeciy enter the building with Cirus and September behind him.
My hands start sweating making me start slipping.
I shut my eyes, prepping for my imminent demise.
I hear running, and my eyes peel open.
Leeciy and Gabrie were running out onto the balcony, closely trailed by Cirus and September.
The slight vibration of their feet on the somewhat thin marble makes me fall quicker.
Right as my hand loses grip, Leeciy grabs onto my wrist. "I've got you."
I look up at him with wide, scared eyes, then I give him my other arm.
He pulls me up with ease, taking me inside, saying something I didn't quite catch to September.
September walks to the kitchen.
Leeciy sets me on the couch, holding me close.
I was still breathing heavily, now trembling.
"I've got you." Leeciy whispers into my hair. "You're okay."
I press my hand against my side, at the familiar ache.
"Are you okay?" Cirus asks.
"I dunno." I murmur.
Cirus grabs my hand in her tiny one, already learning a few techniques from her father.
Gabrie pushes past all of them, lifting my shirt hastily, cutting the bandage with some kitchen scissors. "She ripped her stitches again."
"Oh. Do you want us to bring her to the infirmary?" Leeciy asks.
I shake my head. "I don't want to go back there."
"I'm gonna get the head surgeon, maybe we can do it here." She says, leaving quickly.
I put pressure on my now bare, open wound.
September looks over Leeciy's shoulder.
I look around at everyone, my eyelids become strangely.
"Hey, you have to stay awake." Leeciy whispers. "At least until Gabrie and the head come back."
I try to stay awake, before my eyes roll to the back of my head, and I'm out.
